I'm happy to hear ALL of your positive comments. I got mine 3 weeks ago and only have 300 miles on it so far. You are absolutely right when you say it does everything well. It's not really fast, and it's not a moto-cross bike. It is a great machine to trail ride on, and it's great for running around town. No complaints from me either!
Thanks for the review , I believe y’all hold the record for the most miles in the us ! I want one bad if I can actually find a dealer that won’t mark it up I’m buying one .
We have been busy and have not ridden them as much as we would like too. They are good bikes at a great MSRP. Call Great River Honda if that’s in your area (Mississippi).
Thanks for the info. Next weekend is my turn to have one. I’ll be 13 years old again 😃. My first bike, 1973 SL125. worked all summer long, Dad matched my $$. Boom! ✌🏻
@rickbachman993 You're going to love this bike! My first enduro/dual sport was a clean used maroon and white 1981 Yamaha XT250. I thought it was the coolest thing ever to be able to ride to the trails and ride the trails with the same bike. Can't wait for your youth to kick back into gear next weekend. 👍🏼👍🏼
I’ve had my 150L for a month now. I’ve put a whopping 34 miles on it. The only complaint I have is that I live in Phoenix, Arizona and I bought it in the summer. Too darn hot to ride until fall comes. Really good video! You hit on all the reasons why I bought the bike. I’m 66 years old and used to ride the big bore dirt bikes. Just decided to get a bike I could putt around on after having not ridden for 15 years. Surprised how rusty I am getting back into it.
@nicolettedavis2030 That's pretty common I think. I rode dirt when I was young and a little street in my 20's. Stopped for a few years and got back into it. It was like learning all over again. Take it slow and keep ridding when able. It will be "old hat" again soon enough.
I am 6 ft 2 in, 170 lb before gear, and find the bike very comfortable. I did put 2 inch bar risers on mine which made all the difference for standing.
Good Intel. I'm 6'5" and 230+ before gear. My vStrom 650 was my "do all bike" including occasional 2-up trips, but I wiped out in the mud, cutting through a farmer's land (shortcut to get mail) and discovered that my knees don't let me pick up anything low anymore (over 60). My local dealer called yesterday, said they've got their 2 bikes in (for the year!) and one is assembled and ready to test. In fact a woman was testing as we spoke. I got ready, grabbed a helmet and gloves, drove down, but I was too late. She bought the bike and it was gone! So I put a down payment on the other one. I'm not expecting to travel 2-up on this, but thinking of getting an old cruiser for that ... they're practically giving them away. I shopped online for a light dual sport (prefer a DR350, maybe a KLX) and 20+ year old units are selling at 3500+ and looking sad. Here at the North Pole (Canada, 9 hours north of Minneapolis) the bike is C$5110- plus tax. In real money (USD), depending on exchange for the Canadian peso, that's U$4k to $4500, pre-tax. Our main roads are paved, 100 kmph (62 MPH) limit, but the rest are slower, and most gravel. And I'm 1.5 blocks from the beach. Should be great around here, and also in the city. Getting their, I can take the smaller of 2 highways. Any longer highway rides, I'll take the cruiser, or maybe hold onto the vStrom for 2-up and just not take it off road, which it's too heavy for anyway. The XR should be way more fun in trails.
@@SkufMcGruff That’s when we did this video (up above the “test ride/demo” area). I have been going to Barber for years but this was her first year to attend. We did the museum on Monday after the event. It’s just incredible!
@@MishMashMoto gotcha, me and my buddy only made it out there for a few hours on Saturday. We rode out from Atlanta that morning and rode home that afternoon. Was both of our first time going there, that place was so crazy cool.
I enjoy your videos. I have had one of these for a couple of months now and really enjoy it. However, I noticed at speeds of 45 plus, particularly when WOT to get to 50 plus, the bike sort of "skips" it feels like. As if its slipping on power or something. It's an unsettling feeling. Lower speeds - perfect and smooth as butter. But at higher speeds it's kind of scary. Maybe I got some bad gas or something. Any clues as to what it could be?
If it’s between about 47-53 MPH it’s common on these bikes. I think it’s a harmonic issue being transmitted through the chain/sprockets you are feeling. Our bikes do this also at that speed. Try slowly rolling off the throttle until it stops and “cruise” there (sometimes full throttle helps also). I don’t think it’s doing any serious harm but is very annoying if you can’t keep the speed above 55. Good chain maintenance (lubrication) also helps significantly reduce this vibration.
Both good bikes, the XR is way more “useful” IMO. Really depends on if you want a street bike or off-road capable bike. Consider your local environment, wants, and realistic expectation of the riding you intend to do 90 percent of the time. Enjoy whatever you choose! ✌🏼
@@jasonshink6589 motomanasas, Virginia. I got kawasaki z125 from them. This summer, I am selling it for hasqavara svartpilen 401 2024 model. Use cycletrader and look.
About $3,400 OTD is the best deal we have heard of people getting. Just keep calling around to different dealerships in your area and see what you can get one for.
Yes, we use whatever is available when fuel is needed. 87 octane normally goes in these bikes. Ethanol is OK IMO as long as your not storing the bike. We ride ours several times a week.
Still love mine. Having surgery in 10 days so the end of my riding season is coming soon. I’ll store it in the garage after some premium fuel and Stabil. Keep up the good content.

The problem is its not 3 thousand dollars. It's around 5 grand out the door every place I've went which makes my hawk 250 purchase at 1700 delivered the right choice for me. If I could cut out scumbag dealers I'd buy this all day
@alexjones-qe5gc We discussed it once before. Hawks are the right choice for some people in our opinion. FYI, around $3,600 out the door is about the best one can do for a new XR150L.

I'm glad you guys "tour" on the XR. It's very inspiring. I have really enjoyed and appreciate your maintenance vids!
It’s been fun for us, not a great touring bike obviously but it works if one wants to do it.
Just got mine, 5 miles on it so far, loving it!
We love ours!
Im at 6100 feet..changed to 102 main jet..i think thats the best performance for up here..love my 150..725 miles now no issues.
Good info to know. We went up to MT Mitchell 6,684’ with the stock 35/105 jets and it worked pretty good also.
The last time I paid $3k for a new motorcycle was in 2006 for a Ninja 250, another great little bike.
Agreed!
really enjoyed the review and seeing how the bikes held up so far, I totally agree, you can't beat them for the price.
They are good, solid, FUN, bikes.
Great segment💯...Watching from Kenya
Thank you Sir.
Really tough with the background noise, but I made it through.
@Pk-kp7sn Understood. Equipment upgrades are much needed.
Another great review. I am delighted to hear how long the tires have lasted.
Thank you, I think we will get about 7,500 miles out of the tires before changing them.
Awesome! Thanks for the review, can’t wait to get mine
It really is a great bike for its engine size and price. We don't regret our purchase. Hope you enjoy yours!
