Lets take a quick spin on this 2023 Honda XR150L. This unique bike surprised me and can't wait to share my experience with you guys. Music by Infraction
Man, cheap DS bikes are so great. Fun to push as you cant really lose your licence easily, more reliable than a tank and can ride anywhere... twisties, offroad, anything
I think that the 2.8 gallons makes for a good range on a 150cc bike. Also, if a 50mph cruising speed is inadequate then you need a bigger bike. I have mine setup just like the one in the video and it is a very capable on/off machine that is great on the back of my camper. My first street legal bike was a 1971 Honda Sl125 and this is the modern version, a bit heavier but also a bit more sophisticated with the suspension and front disc brake. It's good to buy a bike that has been proven for many years on the 3rd world market.
Great review! been looking for a fun light cheap to insure DS. My last bike was a 2007 gsxr 600. miss riding and this bike would keep me out of trouble as well lol. Can't beat Honda reliability! love love to ride! I put 14,000 km on my Gixxer between Late May and Early December! ha!
I've looked at a lot of dual sports & this one has the proven record, about 20 yrs in Asian/S.American Nations so as I was looking I saw how many Chinese Amazon bikes were being sold & then I knew that Honda wants a piece of that market. They only added a fuel can & some emission stuff but the rest is all proven out. So for $1000 more you can get a bullet proof bike & she is bullet proof. For the money & to own it outright, this is the way to go ! I'm close now so thanks for the video. peace
Love mine. Wish it was a 200cc for 60 plus mph ability improvement. I see some people are turning them into cafe racer or scrambler styled bikes. Would love to do that with mine
Some advice when it comes to riding rural back roads. Watch out for deer. Was riding with a friend about a year ago, and he had a deer come out of the weeds at full gallop and take him out. Since then, I ride with caution always looking to the side of the road. You just never know.
Oh yeah I did not even think about it being air cooled! That makes sense! Such a fun, capable little bike. I'm super happy I got an opportunity to ride one.
It really depends on the state and the dealer. I got mine out the door last year for $3554. People in California were claiming paying over $5K. One of the secrets to buying a Honda is to check out all the powerhouse dealers who don't sell other brands. Some of those dealers don't charge freight and setup just tax title and license.
Tank size? Almost 3 gallons @ 100 mpg... Where are you going on a 150cc bike that you can’t find gas in 300 miles? I really like this bike, and all I hear is ‘Highway’, this bike isn’t made for the highway and I’m not sure why people would think that or look twice at a bike like this for the highway? Small town, 35-45 mph county roads, exploring down gravel roads and dirt trails is ‘TO ME’ what this bike was meant for, and would be excellent for. Plus if you needed to once in a while, on a 55 mph highway you could wring this bike out like a dish rag for 3 days and it’d take it! I did a 750 mile trip on my Honda Monkey. “It’s buzzy’, yup, and so is off road. I love this bike, just don’t expect it to be a highway bike, it isn’t intended for that, simple.
Asian manufacturers are so funny they double the price in the United States because they know people can pay that price in the United States. The same bike but a street bike only difference, drum brakes in front , Honda 1975 design. $1,400 US in Philippines.
Sir i have xt 225 kick start onnly model but engine is completely gone i also have a brand new engine of honda xr 150l what's it's torque specs as compared to xt ? will i be able to climb hill ass good as xt 225 engine
Personally I would look for an older model, lower mileage, clean Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki or Yamaha 250cc dual sport to get a little better highway rideability and torque out of for the same or less money. 150cc may get you by but a 250cc bike is just so much better and not really much of a weight penalty for the extra power. Not to mention I bet the actual quality and fit and finish on the older bike will be better than the xr150. To build the bike to sell at its price point cost had to be cut somewhere! A nice clean example may cost you almost as much as what the MSRP is on the XR150 but you will avoid the shipping and destination charges along with Stealership doc fees and in states that charge a sales tax based of the bikes sale usually a bill of sale turned in showing a reasonable purchase price will save you a little cash as well.
for $250 you can just get a big bore to make it 222cc and get a better exhaust. IMO the evtra $1000 ish that's needed to fully upgrade it is worth knowing its BRAND NEW
Got mine last week, go for my license in the next two. There is parts available at Honda Philippines to add the kick start back and give you that extra advantage. I think I just joined the "Lucky Bucks" club, havin' a blast. Roads here are'nt that great either! ( Baltimore County)

I want to make mine look similar to an older SL.
I luv my XR150L, had it a few months now, and I got a Honda Ruckus for my brother and it's more fun to ride. I recommend both, let's ride
I love mine too, it’s awesome for sure especially with a BBK!!

Mÿ 2024 xr150l was $3800 out the door . Great bike for what it is
This bike reminds me of Yamaha's XT125 from '82 or so. Compared, im sure the XT would win. But i'd still buy the XR.
I had one of these. Very fun bike. I regret selling it.
Love mine. Wish it was a 200cc for 60 plus mph ability improvement.
I see some people are turning them into cafe racer or scrambler styled bikes. Would love to do that with mine
Lots of people on the south America and the Philippines are converting them into cafe racers. No clue how todo it but would love to get it done

Lucky buck! I'm jealous, gotta get one!
You can also invest into a storm DLX 150. Much lighter in weight. But either one of them are fast enough for the road.
it would be a great commuter for someone living on the east coast or in the south
First of all air cooled engine doesn't have a temperature gauge. I can cruise At 55 all day long. 86. Mpg 😊
Oh yeah I did not even think about it being air cooled! That makes sense! Such a fun, capable little bike. I'm super happy I got an opportunity to ride one.
It’s pretty easy to add a temp gauge and an rpm gauge.
And… It’s a Honda 😎👍🏻
I don’t understand how come this is cheaper than the trail 125
The Trail is overpriced
The trail and monkey are overpriced due to the nostalgic look.
Do you think i could rock this at 6'1"? Thanks for the video
yup
I am 5'11, and 250, and bike performs exceptional for the size.
I am your height, had one of these, and it was perfectly fine. I sold the bike and regretted it immediately.
Is that MSRP? Or OTD price?
Well every dealer and state and dmv is difference soooooo. Msrp
@@timmer9991 Thankyou. Makes sense.
Is this bike 3100 out the door or does that include fees and what not?
in the philippines this only cost around 1800usd

Perhaps if it were a 250.

Best part about it is the seat over the 250, but i like LED headlights.
I have a silly question , How is the clutch lever pull like soft or hard i broke my 2 fore fingers lol just wondering and good review !
Pretty soft considering it’s cable. def makes up for the XR name in that sense
