- Here is a quick video showing some of the small differences between a wrist shot and a snap shot. You hear a lot of announcers calling certain shots the wrong shot, this may help you differentiate between the 2 shots. If you have any comments feel free to add them below. Thank you for watching.

Thank you very much for making the video this is exactly what I was thinking about today. And thank you for being consistent and relevant with your videos
Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it. If you ever have any questions let me know, I enjoy sharing and learning new teachings.
Thanks for the explanation. I am getting started late with this game (40 now and 38 when I started) and I can pretty much only consistently raise the puck if I do a quick tap on the puck and then shoot. I thought I was doing some goofy style this whole time. Well, its probably still some goofy style but its the best way I have found to get extra power and lift. Thanks again for the breakdown.
Great to hear that the video helped. Thanks for checking us out. Best of luck.
I don’t know why this isn’t explained more. Thank you
Thank you for the comment and checking out our videos.
Good explanation. Always wondered what the difference was.
Thank you, I appreciate the feedback.
From a goalie point of view are they expecting a different angle? Speed of release of shot? Snap shots make the location harder to pinpoint? There must be an advantage as to one over the other
Great question, both are effective shots and are going to be situational in a game. A snap shot is usually quicker, more powerful and easier to change directions for a shooter. A wrist shot is still very effective on a catch and release, off a pass. Often times with young players they load a wrist from behind their body which takes time and makes it easier for goalies to track off the release. A snap shot comes off the blade a little quicker making it more challenging for goalies.
Thank you random Canadian guy.
You are very welcome. Thank you for checking out our videos.
Thank you mister 🤟
You're welcome
@nsdahockey hey you taught it so well I snapped my twig 😭
@@Tannertraversed haha. Sorry to hear about the twig breaking. That means you’re generating more power with your shot. Congrats.
I don't see the difference
Do you have any specific questions on how they are the same type of shot? A wrist shot and snap shot are 2 pretty different shots.
@@nsdahockey I did more research, snap shot is between slap and wrist shots, just new to hockey, many moves look similar for me by quick hands.
@@yunghanhuang8188 totally understand, if your new to the game some of the skills look overwhelming or at times really basic, keep doing your research and try stuff out. The best way to pick up new Skills is to understand how to do it and practice it properly. Best of luck.
Snap literally snaps (quick). Like a baby slap shot.
Wristers you are pulling it from behind the you generally. Almost a sweeping a motion.
