The deleted Petunia Dursley scene, as well as the deleted Arthur & Ron Weasley scene have been added by JJPotter. While the full Dudley handshake scene has been added by me. I also fixed the title screen to remove the "part 1" text.

I hadn't seen the interaction between Harry and Dudley 😭💔 ..... It shows his redeeming qualities
Of Course! I Love Harry Potter so much and I Love Sharing My Love for it with all The Other Harry Potter Fans!
I don’t care so much about the Petunia scene, but cutting the Dudley scene was a crime. Yes, he was a mean kid, but he was raised by mean parents, seeing them abuse Harry and believing it was ok. When he grew up he started thinking for himself and this is such a great character development and they just cut it … Also Draco throwing Harry the wand, that’s a scene of only one or two seconds, there was NO need to cut it.
I don't know if this was a theory or some extra information that J.K. Rowling released but Dudley's exposure to Dementors was a pivotal moment in his character development. When he saw a dementor he saw himself exactly as he was and he was disgusted by it.
I heard they cut out Dracos Redemption scene because Harry couldn’t catch the wand.
@@icezilla8606 That’s true, it was a spontaneous idea by Tom Felton, but they could have seen that it’s a great idea and shot it again. I’m sure Daniel would have managed to catch the wand at some point, if he had been prepared.
@@Eldyra I agree.
I reckon Harry saving him from the dementors would have had a big impact on him!
Normal redemptions in movies: saves lives
Redemption in Harry Potter: Maybe you aren’t a waste of space.
lmao
💀
Pretty pathetic and sad, tbh. If that's the nicest thing Dudley ever said to Harry, you can tell how horrible his childhood was
@@thatoneerumpenthorn1512 It also doesn't excuse dudley's actions, which is why this scene is so off putting.
@@lapplandkun9273 For me, I personally believe it doesn't excuse Dudley from all the bullshit he did when in past, but it makes a big change and let's the reader/viewer know that in the future, things will change for the better. As quoted from the books, that's basically an "I love you" from Dudley
I don't understand why did they deleted Dudley's redemption!!
"i don't think you are a waste of space" this has me sobbing
Because they kept treating him like a waste of space for many movies. His redemption does not matter anymore.
@@creator1094 no it was mainly because the actor was wearing a fat suit since he lost a lot of weight, and it seemed pretty noticable
@@patwillinjr7112 wait that's actually really funny. Dudley just *had* to be canonically fat and couldn't have gotten fit throughout his teens??

Can we acknowledge that he was lingering because he was realizing Harry could not come back and he could never see him again
Despite all those years, they did grow up together. He held some sort of bond to Harry. He knew that was all over now. He would miss him.

Same
@@_xante_5161 There are some scenes from the original film in this :) But the Petunia Dursley scene, the Arthur & Ron Weasley scene and the Dudley Redemption scene were deleted scenes added back into the intro.
Well, reading the books and having your imagination ready at the same time is just as pleasing
But the movies are still phenomenal
I don’t know what’s worse. The directors taking out Draco’s redemption, or taking out Dudley’s redemption. Probably both.
Both were criminal but I’d say Draco’s is far worse. He’s a much more crucial character than Dudley and without his redemption it doesn’t feel like his character was building toward anything meaningful
They took out all the redemption scenes I don’t get why
Would’ve been so good
Ikr it chucks
because rowling hates redemption arcs
The Dudley scene really affects the pacing, unfortunately. I do agree Petuna redemption should have been a movie, but I am pretty sure it was an issue of not enough build-up, and JK Rowling not wanting it in the first place.
@@RunnyElephant44 well she did write the redemption scene in the book with the exact quote "I don't think you're a waste of space"
When Dudley closed the door to go to Harry, he looked at his father with defiance, as if saying "I'm not gonna be like you anymore". And when he stepped towards Harry, he walked with a purpose. This proved to me that Dudley had some good in him, that if given the chance, Harry and him could have been good friends.
Maybe Dudley inherited something from his aunt Lily
The saddest for me was Hermione erasing herself from her parents memories
Right me to I literally started crying my father in law was looking at me like wtf is wrong with you

OH MY GOODNESS! I can't believe Petunia would say such a thing! 1:52 "You didn't just loose a mother that night in Godric's Hollow, I lost a sister."
She said a nice thing, for once, and not to Dudley or Vernon, to, Harry Potter...The one she said was abnormal and weird...I can't believe I just heard that...
Would’ve been better if she hugged him a bit. Or apologized.
she didn't say it in the books though
@tanuki no yami she said goodbye
@tanuki no yami That she did
That part doesn't really make sense to me, considering that the main reason she hated Harry so much was because he was the son of her sister, who she hated... I don't feel like she was really sad at all when Lily died.
I think the Dudley scene shows that he really did care about Harry. They had a brotherly relationship obviously because well they were raised together although it's made out that they hated each other.
you can see that Vernon thinks it's like they'll leave and be back soon and Harry will live with them again. Petunia on the other hand has known the risks and is sure that Harry will Die.
Dudley knows the danger is well. He genuinely grew a liking for Harry and thought that leaving him was completely mad and unfair.
Hermoine's scene with her parents is obviously heady breaking and so is Ron's with Arthur. Ron knows how worried his dad is and just wants everything to be OK.
Dudleys were never evil. Harry being a horcrux, turned them into evil person.
They had same effect like tom riddles diary on jinny wisley and the necklace on umbridge.
@@YashM1234 that’s not exactly true. In the first movie opening scene professor McGonagall has reservations . She tells Dumbledore she’s been watching the Dursley’s and they are horrible. This was before they put Harry on their doorstop.
Dudley pretty much repeated the abuse he saw Vernon and Petunia heap onto Harry. It wasn't until Harry saved him from a Dementor that Dudley realized HWTAH.
And the best part is after 19 years Harry and Dudley still kept in touch along with their children.

“You didn’t just lose a mother that night in godrics hollow you know. I lost a sister.” Thats a great line. Really shows there was more than meets the eye with the dursleys. And dudley showing a touch a love was great too. Would’ve loved if those scenes stayed in but i get why they didn’t
Kind of weird for her to say that, after she’s treated her sister’s son like garbage.
@@cadenbagasao9344 Exactly. She really has no right to garner sympathy from Harry, and is focused on her loss, not her sister's child whose is greater. Dudley however was raised to think it was ok to treat Harry like dirt, so his farewell shows growth and goodness to him and a departure from his parents' footsteps.
@@cadenbagasao9344 Not really. It doesn’t justify what she did to Harry, but her reason is obvious. She knew what the wizard world was capable of and by having Harry in her life she feared for her family’s safety.

This is a five minute long scene, and there is SO much rich character growth in it. Yes, Dudleys redemption, but also the scene showing Arthur working on the radios so the members of the order can stay in touch, knowing his son will likely be on the run soon too? Petunias facial expressions when she stands in the living room and sits in the car? Dudley awkwardly shuffling back to the car while Vernon watches in bewilderment? These moments tell us so much about the characters and it's criminal to get rid of them :(
I would totally understand if the movie's couldn't include books scene's which were hard to edit or was just difficult , Adding Magic or any problem but scenes like this Dudley Character Improvement and many more small details should be in the movie's l mean it was already shooted what was the point of deleting it ?
I'll be always mad at them for not adding this scene also ruining Hinny relationship and Ruining the Torture scene of Hermione , Ron did so much on the book during that scene , movie showed none of it
Legit this and the Draco scene were only a few seconds. There was no need to delete it.

Ugh. Why. WHY DID THEY LEAVE THIS SCENE OUT?!?!
Cause jk Rowling hates redemption arcs

Why would they want to take all the emotional and heart warming stuff that we have been waiting to see since the beginning out???
Affects the pacing, scene loses a lot of its emotional impact because it drags out a bit too much
It was the music that made this opening a real tear jerker 😢
It breaks the flow of the intro
I feel like the music here screws everything up
The music is too loud you can barley hear the words.
Every time i watch these deleted scenes, they make me cry like a baby
Thank you so much for posting these scenes!
There are scenes in united 93 that don’t happen in the movie but, me leaving Woody in my nightmares was so heartbreaking especially when Woody asks me “You will be coming back?” I gave Woody an emotional expression telling him I’ll be back not knowing that United 93 will be hijacked and it will because Woody predicted it. It was like he wanted me to die in that plane
am I the only who loosing my shit over how Dudley stares down Vernin as he steps over the fence thing?
The Petunia scene is very touching in a way because the Dursley’s strong aversion to magic seems to make alot more sense. She lost a sister to the magic world, it’s not wonder she hated it.
Her sister didn’t choose to be a witch.
Petunia? You mean Marva? We know she will miss Cassian. ☺️
1:57 Glad she didn’t say she lost a freak of a sister. Until now she’s been the real freak
I can't believe they've deleted Dudley's mother scene, it was perfect for the movie, absolutely perfect!
I don't care what Rowling thinks or does, but this series right here is a masterpiece. I grew up with it, I read all the books, watched all the movies and played all the games (yep will be getting Hogwarts legacy as well). This series will always have a special place in my heart.
If they didn't delete this scene I would've been bawling my eyes out at the beginning of the movie 💀
Fun Fact: The films actually had Hermione use the wrong charm to modify her parents memories. The obliviate charm is irreversible so instead she used a charm that created false memories that was reversible so after the war was over she found them and restored their memories
Indeed. The "Obliviate" charm is to erase all memories like Lockhart tried with Harry and Ron, but Ron's wand was damaged and sent it back at him.
I wish they kept all this in as it would explain a lot. Plus shows a genuine emotion with Harry and the Dursley’s like in the book.
This Dudley scene where he asks why Harry isn't going with them is actually in the book so I don't know why they cut this screne out....
The Dursley's departure scene (and Dudley's bit) in the book is clearly more fleshed out and emotional and fitting that into this movie would've been counter productive to run time as it was split in two parts already. But how they did this little scene to do justice to the books but didn't even add it in to the movie is absolutely criminal!!!
Awwww WTF! 😭😭😭 I NEVER SEEN THIS. I'm crying.
I was expecting Dudley and Harry to hug each other in that scene.
I luv duh bit where Dudley just looks at his father and just steps over the chain 🤭
Dudley's redemption is amazing. Really shows that Dudley wasn't a bad kid and just had bad parents. Unfortunately I think this scene was filmed and acted poorly and that is why it was cut.
Is it me or was the dialog between the aunt and harry really really good. It was almost a small pinch of empathy for harry.
This legit made my heart ache. I’ve been wanting to see this for so long now. They finally accepted Harry for once... excluding possibly Vernon.
4:32 petunia knows what kind of power harry is up against
This was a pivotal scene they left out of the theatrical release. It essentially shows the reader-audience the Dudley was spoiled by circumstance and understood Harry saved his life several years prior. We get to see Dudley actually think for himself and grow up in this very short scene.
bro this scene is amazing why didn't they put it here
I've never seen Dudley being so kind.
I just found out about this deleted scene and after watching it, I was crying. Not having that in the movie is a travesty.
Alexandre Desplat did amazing work composing the music in these 2 movies.
It’s the fact they had to erase themselves from their lives from their parents to fight back and they couldn’t go back to their lives
I love this scene! For Dudley to question his dad is pure cousin respect. Gawd, why cut this scene!?? Not the best decision...
Beautifully put together ❤
Dudley: I don't think you're a waste of space.
Me: Wow...great scene. Why would they cut it out?
Harry: Big D.
Me: Oh...
Blame political correctness for it.
Dumbledore's the only one allowed to be known as the Big D in this series.
4:14 the bit of sadness in Harry’s voice. Either that or he’s mentally laughing at Dudley’s old nickname.
I forgot how epic this intro was
It’s like all three of them knew bad was coming there way.
I was so happy they included this scene in the film. For so many years they successfully made us fans absolutely despise the Dursley’s but I’m happy out of all of em it was Dudley that stuck out the olive branch.

I don't remember it being included.

WE NEEDED THIS SCENE
Dudleys Scene is so important... especially considering, that his kids were magic and he told them, that if they ever needed help, they could just go to the ministry and ask for Harry Potter... He changed so much.
Shows the regret that Dudley had bullying Harry all those years
They really should have kept this in the original release, it's honestly perfect.
I don’t understand why they left out these scenes....they’re so powerful and now when I watch it, I feel like they’re something missing
The opening scene ended up just giving a glimpse of the Dursley's and after watching this I hate that they didn't add that scene because it would've showed how Dudley wasn't so heartless after all.
"Honey, why do we have so many empty picture frames?"
"No idea, leave them, we won't need them in Australia"
Seeing the Dursley's leave Privet Drive was so sad.
When Harry asked if he was a waste of space to Vernon, I genuinely think that Uncle Vernon wanted to say no.
Thank you 🙏🏽
I haven't seen this version of the film but I might add that the door slam noise could serve as a great transition between the Dursley's and Weasley's shed scene

i feel like ever since harry saved dudley from the dementors, dudley has wanted to tell him something like this, but always been too afraid to because of vernon. the way he looks back at vernon to see if he'll stop him is really telling in that manner
Great job on making this!!
I absolutely love the music and the editing that you did.
I like to think years later harry and him met up again and became friends
rewatching for the millionth time and i’ll never understand why they cut dudley’s scene there. It adds so much to the heartbreak of the moment. Hermione is literally removing herself from her parents memories, but not her parents from hers. Ron’s nervous for his family and lowkey keeping watch outside for anything bad. This would have been much better than just petunia’s butthurtness about leaving home.
I like to think the aunt tried her best to keep Harry away from magic, not just because she was jealous of her sister, but also because she loved her and wanted to keep the last part of her alive.
Don't be fooled by this, in the books she was a horrible person and cruel to Harry, she married this horrible man Vernon and allowed him to insult Harry and his parents and did nothing when Marge insulted her sister and she tried to hit Harry with the pan and said nothing to him in the last book when they were About to leave, she looked at Harry and her lips quivered
but she came out after her husband
Not to mention she let a little kid sleep in a cupboard for years
This was a good way to start off the movie, why did they delete it?😭

awesome compilation! I loved this so much, it encapsulates so much of the pain and sacrifice in these scenes
(the music was a bit loud at times, especially during Petunia's and Dudley's scene, but I can understand youtube copyright may raise hell if that wasn't the case, but then again, they may raise double hell for having those scenes AND music... so perhaps I have no clue what I'm talking about.)
The original scenes had music already throughout them so it would feel out of place if the added scenes did not :) Also keeping the music throughout holds the tension as well. Glad you like the edit! I made no effort to stop copyright claims and it (unsurprisingly) got claimed, but they haven't taken it down so it's all good.

These are really cool extra scenes, the radios foreshadowing Ron always listening to one, Harry's "family" actually caring, etc. But it really messed up the flow and the timing of the music, which is absolute perfection in the theatrical opening scene.
