It is an absolute blessing that place has survived all these years. I think it speaks volumes about the community to not cave in to the big box stores and the online craze. I hope they make it another 50 years but todays generation is all about convenience and cost, loafin on the sofa, click buy it now, boom it’s at your door.
Thanks for showing us Montgomery’s store. My mother was 1 of 13 kids, raised in Machine Branch. We would go to Ewing a couple times a month to visit and always stopped at this store. Back in the 60’s it was a little 1 room store. I’m so happy it has grown and thrived over the years and still in the family. Looking forward to checking it out.
That store looked wonderful and I love the owner. When he was talking about Stihl products, I kept thinking he was talking about "stills", as in Barney Fife taking his little axe and going Pow! Pow! Pow! lol
I have seen exactly three stores like that in my life.... they're rare. That place is a hidden treasure..bet there's all sorts of cool stuff in there .

Will my favorite coyotes be making an appearance at the Tobacco Festival on Saturday?
We had planned to but a local fire department lost a member and we're planning on attending his funeral on Saturday.
Great store...but im not sure where Ewing is!
Ewing is one of the western most communities in Virginia it's in Lee County near Cumberland Gap Tennessee and middlesboro Kentucky.
Don't forget to buy me something.

What a great country store. I would love shopping there as opposed to Walmart
If Every town had a store like this Walmart would go out of business
