My remark that there are two versions of this set, one being 375 and the other being 356, has been contentious. If there are bootlegs of this set, it will say 375. However, other RUclipsrs have unboxed this set. There sets have said 375 but do NOT look like bootlegs. So I’m not sure what to think, that’s why I brought it up in the video, hoping for answers. If you want this set, look for the 356.
Very nice unboxing! I don’t have this particular set mostly because I have all Six of these volumes individually which have different packaging as they are box sets instead of standard DVD cases. This set looks really nice though and I definitely would have bought it if I didn’t already have all of the Golden Collection Volumes when this box set was released in 2011. I totally agree with you that they should make a Volume Seven, but I would also sadly have to agree that would be very unlikely. As for the Platinum Collections (since you mentioned them at the end), I own all three of them on Blu-ray and they are very nice as well! What I’ve been really thinking and hoping that they will do lately is reissue all three volumes through Warner Archive (since they’re all out of print now) like they recently did with the Tom and Jerry Golden Collection Blu-ray a few months ago. And I especially hope that if they do that they will continue the series through Warner Archive! Fans found out a few days ago that 51 newly restored Looney Tunes cartoons are going to be heading to HBO Max in a few days and that alone would be enough to make a fourth volume! The only downside that I can really foresee about them continuing the Platinum Collection through Warner Archive is that if they do they probably won’t have the incredibly nice booklets written by Jerry Beck that the original retail volumes of the Platinum Collections did.
Thank you! I’ve seen the original releases in a video on your channel and I found the original volume six in a store once. The packaging on those releases looks really nice but I’m happy with the slimmer cases. I think a Platinum Collection 4 would be more likely and I’d be all for it. I would love to pick up the Platinum Collections on Blu-ray. Hopefully Warner Archive re-releases them like you said, I think that would be a great idea. I had no idea HBO Max was putting out 51 newly remastered cartoons! I will definitely have to check those out and it would be even better if they could be released on physical media with special features. Thanks for watching and commenting!
MoviesCool93 You’re Welcome! I found the list on one of Blu-ray.com’s forums last night. According to the user who posted the list they will be coming to HBO Max on August 18 (a week from today) AND that Jerry Beck has been begging Warner to release them on Blu-ray and that they might if the Bugs Bunny 80th Anniversary Collection Blu-ray that comes out in November sells well! forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.php?p=17952304&postcount=461
Volumes 3 and 4 are probably my favorite out of the bunch. A great mix of cartoons from the 30's, 40's and 50's. Volumes 1-2 mainly have post-1948 Looney Tunes which is a bit dissapointing, and 5-6 is mostly 30's and 40's. Volumes 3 and 4 represent the Looney Tunes as a whole the best, although Bob Clampett is by far my favorite director
the funny thing is, i actually *recently got* this "Looney Tunes: Golden Collection" in the mail today that i ordered from eBay on May 3rd. my copy says it includes "375" total theatrical shorts. so i got the version that says "375". even though some of the discs in the volumes looked somewhat dimmed and faded, i don't want to necessarily say that they are "bootlegy". even if they are bootlegged copies, (which I don't think they are), i am still keeping my set, because, being only a casual "Looney Tunes" fan, i am just mainly satisfied with just owning this large set in general. by the way, great review and video overall! 💗
Something I want to do and achive is get the seperate releases of the discs of volumes 1 and 2. So far I have "The best of Daffy and Porky" and "The Best of Tweety and Sylvester". I need (individual releases names), for volume 1: Best of Bugs Bunny; All stars volume 1; All stars volume 2; For volume 2: Best of Bugs Bunny volume 2; Road Runner and friends; All stars volume 3;
this isn't even a fraction of the amount of shorts they made 1,002 shorts mere made from the 30s to the 60s and additional 39 after making the total number of shorts to 1,041
Other RUclipsrs, like J’s Blu-ray’s, have gotten sets that say 375, but don’t look like bootlegs. If you want this set, I’d say look for the 356 to be safe.
I got this today and i can tell you that both discs 1 of the volumes 3 and 4 are the best of Bugs Bunny volume 3 and 4 because i have those on separeted versions and i checked the episodes list and they are the same. But curiously there's a small diference on the episodes of volume 3. On the single version you have only 14 episodes including Super Rabbit wich is not on the disc of this set... But on the disc of the set you have 15 episodes including Rebel Rabbit and Duck Rabbit Duck, and those 2 are not in the single version... Altough the remaining episodes are exactly the same... Curious i say...

The ones that say “375 cartoons” ARE bootleg. And everyone should be cautious to make sure they’re not being ripped off.
