The problem was that Jump was so good it could not be bested. It set the bar at the highest point from the start. Their other albums were not bad, but you could not do something better than Jump. No one could, that song is a timeless classic.

True. The same thing happened to groups like Bananarama, Eiffel 65, Crazy Town, and Len when they released Cruel Summer, Blue, Butterfly and Steal My Sunshine, also artists like Skee lo, MC Hammer, and Vanilla Ice when they released “I wish I was a little bit taller” Can’t Touch This, and Ice, Ice, Baby. As an artist you rather put out good single’s consistently and have at least 1 or 2 albums, or some kind of EP out before having a mega single like that. When you just show up out of nowhere and release a mega single you set the bar so high that it’s almost impossible to top, and then you’re only known for that song because you really had no other body of work to build up a real fan base before the mega single. Something singles are just for radio play to build up momentum for an album but if you had no other music out then the fans only just know you as that single. If you can’t make another “Jump, Jump” you’re going down fast!!! Even if you can you might still have people that can’t get past the impact your first single had on them.

Honestly I blame the music industry for these untimely deaths, which are used more like a promotional celebration for posthumous record sales, while loved ones grieve such a heavy and unnecessary death.
It's always been and continues to be allowed to be a foundation built upon predatory and exploitative practices that by accounts is simoly a modern day endentured servitude - the artists make 5% off actual sales and around 10% at events or tours , being fleeced for their talent while Zaddy benefits the most, bleeds it dry and moves onto the next enslaved dreamers too naive to ask questions.

These two kid's music were my introduction to Hip-Hop! I was three years old jumping around to jump and begged my mum for the album on cassette once I saw it in the shop.
I still have that album now and is the reason why I never threw away my cassette player lol, I got my hair platted and wore my clothes backwards because I wanted to be them, One day me and mum left late to visit family because I wouldn't wear my clothes the correct way.
She even caught me doing a mirror performance in my room at 3 years old with the album playing LOL!
Jump is their smash hit but I really did enjoy "I Missed The Bus", "Warm It Up" , "Party" and "Cant Stop The Bum Rush"... Pause!
Being an adult its annoying I never got to see them live as I was raised in the UK, I feel the same with Pun, Big L, Biggie n Tupac, I was born to late to see the greats.
Im lucky to have seen some of my favorite rappers in various countries too and its amazing to see how Hip-Hop is loved globally and celebrated in countries where the native language isn't English.
Kris Kross will always be a staple in Hip-Hop and I wear the song JUMP proudly as my favorite song of all time.
    R.I.P Chris Kelly

Those of us from the West Coast didn’t do the backwards clothes as regular attire. There was nooo way anyone from my area had parents that would have allowed it. I remember seeing a couple of older kids dress like them for Halloween for like 2 years though. We had a kid from the South come visit his family and he was doing that. But people kept having to tell people why. Not because Kris’s KROSS wasn’t popular, because they definitely were. I think places like Washington may have done it, but I never saw it when I went North to visit.
