    You guys are right to repair heros! Bosch has taken the 5th on repairability on the whole, their efforts have been meagre. The irony of their motto "invented for life" against their actual repair policy isn't lost on me. Keep up the great work!

    It's ridiculous that none of the manufactures are offering spare parts, aren't Ebikes suppose to be environmentally friendly? Great job by Pete and team to offer this service.

    Met Peter when I took my Bosch motor to his workshop he replaced all the bearings while I waited really nice guy and the motor has done a lot more miles than the original one and still going strong thank you

    I gave my bosh motor (Pefromance Line) to Pete for a general overhaul with a mileage of 32k kilometers. After replacing all the bearings and getting the motor back, I have already done another 20k kilometers within 1.5 years and the motor is running smoothly, despite a total mileage of 52k kilometers today. As soon as the motor becomes noisy again, I know where to send it :)

    I found this company online and a week later the Brose motor in my Levo failed. Contacted Pete for an appointment, dropped my bike in and a few hours later had a fully rebuilt motor ready for another few thousand mile thrashing - with a years guarantee. Pete is a top guy and a proper professional. This business is destined to be colossal in no time. Let me know when you are selling shares Pete. All the best.

    Excellent service from Peter. He can fix the same day if you make an appointment, just take the whole bike and he will do a test and then strip down and rebuild where necessary. Otherwise you can send the motor to him by post. I did this on another occasion and he gave me a full report with photos on what had gone wrong.

    I cannot say enough good things about this outfit. After watching his video and after a couple of emails I gained the confidence to remove my motor for sending to him. Whilst removing the motor I found some circumstances that may have caused my problem and after a further telephone conversation with Pete I reassembled the bike addressing those problems and eureka!, problem solved. I hadn't spent a penny with Pete, but couldn't have done it without his help. So rare to find firms like this, thanks guys, enjoy your coffees!

    Dont ever buy impulse motor - . I love the kalkhoff bike but im on my 3 rd impulse 2/2.1 motor , they seem to fail around 2000 miles. (in fact im ready to send to performance bearings) as the only other way to get fixed is to pay for exchange motor to an aftermarket ebike company in Germany.
    Derby cycles/kalkhoff were never helpful. knowing full well their motors are badly designed and destined to fail
    Ps thankyou pete what a great company you have set up

    It would have been interesting to have asked him “what in your opinion is the most reliable motor and what would they recommend”

    • @Ebikemotorcentre
      @Ebikemotorcentre  3 года назад +6

      I get, asked this question a lot! Most motors are reliable for most people. I would never want someone not to buy a bike that may have given them years of reliable service and they loved and really enjoyed riding, but didn't buy because I said the motor maybe temperamental. For the first two years you have warranty and after that you have us. A motor repair costs about the same as a decent rear cassette these days, so buy a bike with your heart and enjoy it to the full 😊

      Unless that bike has a Shimano motor... Repairability should be such a big thing for the manufacturers but seemingly only Bosch has thought about it, albeit in limited fashion...

      @@Ebikemotorcentre My wife bought a Gazelle with an Impulse motor that lasted 8,000K's The dealer said that was a good life??? It cost $800 for a new motor and another $600 for service and labour. That really hurt but be assured the next bike won't have an Impulse motor and this one will be sold long before another 8,000k's.
      I realise it isn't beneficial for you to comment but I'm well aware there are good and bad designs along with manufacturers.

      @@richardharker2775 80% of the Impulse motors fail because they used the wrong grease! It is like glue and sticks the pawls down in the freewheel mechanism and sticks dirt and metal filings between the gear teeth inside the motor. Change the grease and you should be good for 10K or more.

      It just means possible VAT/Handling costs, If your precious expensive motor needs work, And it will cost a fortune to replace, Then you won't have a problem paying these fees on your postage.. You'll still save a fortune over replacing the motor.. Right?

    Hi folks, could you possible make a video about how to service/grease the bearing from the outside to prevent water ingress... if thats even a thing? Specifically yamaha pw motors

    • @Ebikemotorcentre
      @Ebikemotorcentre  2 месяца назад

      Hi, Greasing bearings is not really a thing on the motor. Technically, they are sealed for life, but basically, if the grease gets contaminated with water or dirt, it is the beginning of the end anyway, re-greasing will not help.

      @@aston108 Definitely worth an ask. And there are some motors like Bosch Gen 4's for example, where this is possible and important to do outer maintenance, but not Yamaha yet.

    And when do i think about getting the motor serviced?
    Thanks

    • @Ebikemotorcentre
      @Ebikemotorcentre  2 года назад +1

      Hi Matt, no service is required on any Bosch motor but the Gen 4 should have the seal covers removed and replaced with new grease from time to time. How much time will depend on your riding terrain, cleaning habits, mileage etc. but I would take a look after the first 3 or 4 months and see what grease is left behind them. You can buy these here: www.ebikemotorcentre.com/bosch-gen-4/
