bought a few han hocks from Walmart for Split Pea Soup. My son opened the package and apparently "someone"(at the plant) put said ham hocks into Ammonia. Soaked them.. Covered in it.. Made us tear up. Threw them away. Haven't bought meat there ever since. Just saying...ick
When you are the largest retailer, you will also have the largest number of recalls. I will risk e-coli in order to save 40% on my food by shopping at Walmart. The chances of getting sick are just as great at the more expensive stores but not as widely publicized. And you wouldn't even know if the small stores had a recall. It's not like Shoprite of New Jersey would make national news.
My daughter used to be a night stocker for wal mart and, she said if a shopper left meat for instance in housewares, or any other aisle, they was made to return it in the meat aisle. So that meat could have been out of refrigeration for over 4 hours or more! That's why I don't buy meat there anymore! It's disgusting, they have the monopoly and a lot of mom and pop stores went out of business because of them. I guess it would also depend on management, after all they want their bonuses. They have a lot to be desired with the way they treat their employees also.
This why I watch the news too keep top on food recalls at walmart . I like great value and other brands especially ground beef or ground turkey i don't buy much.
How do shoppers so quickly find the reason to believe a certain product that they have picked out from a store has caused them to get a bit ill, to say it best? I mean, cancer patients sometimes do not get diagnosed for YEARS and sometimes even when it's too late already. I have so far not been considered to have cancer but it took me over a year to finally catch the right doctor just to get me a CT scan, just to find out more than what all the other doctors had been saying
True they had recalls BUT, none of it was Walmart's fault... Just like the recent recall of 7 million pounds of top brand Boar's Head sold to markets... Not the market's fault either... Boar's Head took a beating on this deal...

Bought frozen hamburger patties from center cooler, came home cooked one for dunner, woke up at 4 am 🤢. Don shopping for frozen and refrigerated foods from Walmart
All retailers are having issues with food Fry's is having problems too the producers of these foods are not following safety measures to make sure there is not contamation
Stop relying on corporate to survive! Grow your own veggies etc.! Buy some land own a farm grow your own meat cattle hire someone to butcher for you if you're too squeemish. You eat your own food you don't see your own food getting recalled. Think people think!
That is a ridiculous statement! Not everyone has an opportunity nor the money to do that. Some people live in apartments or condos..some people have to live with relatives because they can’t afford to pay the mortgage on a house or even an apartment. Just stupid remark! THINK !😤
We all shop at Walmart. So after decades of shopping there , why have they never and I mean never, never ever upgraded their shopping carts. They are old, most turn to the right or left. Basically a pain in the arse to navigate. Something easy to fix. But this is enlightening…you don’t give a hoot about your customers!

There are a number of reasons why I do not grocery shop at Walmart. This is one reason why I don't.

I just bought groceries from Walmart. I find their meat, very fresh and salmon.
Be careful about seafood, read where it's coming from. Usually you can get salmon from Alaska, but other seafood is from China, and other countries
