      @@DylanHaslam Only on their official U.S. Store site. Low supply, high demand so you’ll have to sign up for email notifications. Other than that you can sometimes get lucky on G-Broker.

      @@DylanHaslam direct order from Bul and have it shipped to your FFL. Sign up for notifications when stock drops and be prepared to jump immediately when you get the emails. Last weeks drop of ported Tac models sold out in a few hours, but the standard Tac models were in stock for days. Might still be actually. I talked to a very open FFL a few weeks back that said Sports South wholesalers had a deal with Bul Armory that fell though. As such there was still a limited amount of guns available for FFLs with accounts to purchase. The prices were higher than going direct though. Seems like Bul is trying to direct distribute to the consumer now.

    That optic system is brilliant. And those new models are really good looking pistols as well. If I find myself in the market for a "2011", which I probably will, these are definitely near the top of the list.

    • @joeyassyrian
      @joeyassyrian 11 месяцев назад

      It's nice but you have to remember, if they are directly threaded into the slide and for whatever reason your screw fails or cross threads, you're in for a treat. Not putting down the system but the operator will always find a way to screw something up (no pun intended) and direct threads just run at a higher risk for the trade off of secureness.

    • @tmango78
      @tmango78 11 месяцев назад

      @@joeyassyrianThis might be a dumb question, but we just recently got our first couple optic ready pistols here in California. The other option would be a plate system? If so, wouldn’t the plate have to thread directly into the slide and possibly pose the same concern?
      Edit: Nevermind, this uses plates too. What would be the other option?

    • @joeyassyrian
      @joeyassyrian 11 месяцев назад

      @@tmango78 Direct thread will still be a weaker point in some scenarios versus an optic threaded to a plate where the plate is screwed to the slide instead. Let me give you a real life example, that actually happened to me. I was running between cars with a direct milled Glock 34 using a OWB holster with an exposed optic (mistake #1), I clipped the rear bumper of a truck while running and my gun/holster took the blunt of the damage. I cracked the glass on my RMR and the screws snapped from the force/(possibly low quality screws too, I don't know what the company that milled my slide source them from). They were stuck in the slide and required some gunsmithing to fix the threads and take them out.

    • @tmango78
      @tmango78 11 месяцев назад

      @@joeyassyrian Would that not happen to the screws holding the plate to the slide because it has a little give? The screws holding the optic to the plate would be more likely to snap?

For carrying the length of the barrel makes a much smaller difference than the grip length concealment wise. I was trying to be satisfied with my SAS TAC II Ultra Lite that was milled for an optic..... But now I need a 5" ported version to be the envy of my co-workers.

    Accuracy X did an optic mounting system with a center lug like that. They used 3 inline 6/32 screws for the plate tho.

    It sure would be nice to actually be able to see these somewhere. You can't find these pistols anywhere in the gun stores I've been to. The gun shop owners or the people working there usually just laugh when I ask if they have Bul Armory pistols. Increasing some inventory would be nice to see.

    I’m confused by the optic system as it’s literally just like the m&p system. It works essentially as a spacer where 2 big circles are milled onto the slide cut that the plate goes onto. That plate also has recoil posts too. So just tighten the optic to the slide and the big circles and recoil posts take the brunt of the force.

      I honestly thought the same thing. I’m not sure what the dimensions of each post are between this system and the 2.0 but it essentially works the same.
      I can’t remember if the 2.0 had to use a set of screws for the plate and the optic, or if they went through both plate and optic directly like this system

    Bul Armory's biggest problem isn't their guns. It's the wait time for their guns.

    Dang it. I knew the UL had issues with screws stripping out, and I had crossed that off of my potential EDC purchase. Now it’s between this and the LTT PX4

    The biggest issue with Bul Armory is you can never find their guns in stock. Unlike the competitors that allow you to place an order for one and then you wait till it's built with Bul they force you to use an poor email notification system that the notice can come in the middle of the night only to wake up and find that the 10 guns that dropped are all sold out again. I've been trying to get one for over a year and can't manage to. Probably going to get the new Staccato C because I can at least order one.
