Tip: Bang the core of the lettuce on the cutting board a few times and then twist the core with your hand and it should come right our without you having to cut a good chunk of the lettuce. Another tip would be that Glass air tight containers keep things better like putting lettuce in a mason jar it won't wilt as fast and putting watermelon in a mason jar will keep it from getting that weird rubbery texture.

Considering the recent romaine scare, I found that actually washing it first decreases all chances of getting sick.

Is there any nutrients in any fresh fruit or veg after so many days in the fridge? Am very curious to know , it's not all about keeping them fresh longer but do we really want to do do that? Isn't fresh the best? Can you imagine how old the fruit and veg are by the time you bring them home? And on top of that you still want to keep them even longer?

I am gluten intolerant, so I need to find ways to eat. I buy gluten free bread but it is boring after a while. I try to bake my own bread but honestly, I get rocks out of the oven, I am not a baker, so this is my other option. Shouldnt you disinfect each and every leaf with white vinegar? Lettuce carries salmonella.

Paleo „lifestyle“.... sure 😂 Plastic bag and paper towels to keep some lettuce leaves fresh, a (plastic) salad drier, paper towels to spread the lettuce and a plastic cutting board.... yeah... pretty much paleo. 🤣 Oh and btw... you break the heart out of the lettuce by „haiia“ just SO you don’t have to cut it out with a knife.
