There has been a big problem lately with fake accounts impersonating RUclipsrs, posting comments claiming that you've won a prize and should contact them to receive it. They will then ask you to pay for shipping or something else and scam you out of money. Don't try to contact them. You can tell that it isn't my account because if you click on the channel icon (for example the photo of me on the left) you will see that these fake accounts have no videos or subscribers. I delete the comments and block the accounts, but they just create new ones. You might consider reporting those accounts as fake, which helps RUclips to get rid of them. Japan was my first international solo trip. I was so confused. I loved it. Being able to see my perceived sense of confusion reflected externally is one of the reasons I love being in foreign places. I don't know what makes something foreign but yeah. Great video. Great music!
When you are waiting on the train platform, you can find in advance the number on the floor of platform which is match with the car number. The train stop exactly at the matching position. 👍🏻👍🏻
The trains in Japan are amazing. Was there in the mid 80's, thanks to the Japanese people who actually took me by the hand to the track & train I was suppose to catch many times. Otherwise I would still be wandering around the stations. The best of times!!!
Of all the people in the world, the Japanese might be the most polite and helpful to foreigners overall. Especially trying to navigate their labyrinth of a train system.
17:31 The reason why you were rejected from leaving is because you didn't put all three tickets inside the machine, you only put two. Thankfully you had the wonderful station staff to help!
Impressive japanese culture, my brother lived in japan since 2013 and he tells me about japan culture , tradition and lifestyles .. from an overall observation of japan , i could say that japan is presumably one of the finest country to lived in.
Gabriel, I'm traveling with you through Japan, virtually. Excellent vlogs..and content, showing us this high speed bullet trains..but also this whole different vibes of their culture.. Amazing Japan...😍 Best greetings from last day in Tenerife..to the best and most special travel vlogger 🖐👍
Thank you, dear Gabriel, for your beautiful trip to Japan, Rainbow Gathering Brother. The guy who gave you the tickets said Love You, that is what everybody in the World should say to each other! David now living for 22 years in Thailand left Boulder, Colorado.
You could get a JR east pass which will cover the range of Tokyo to the end of Aomori. For a little longer you can get one to Hokkaido. Bullet train stops in Hakodate. If going further north (Sapporo) you have to transfer
Having to stuff 3 train tickets simultaneously into one slot at the turnstile? Who knew? A perfect illustration of the advice to ASK FOR HELP from official transit staff who are usually willing to be helpful (and in Japan, amazingly so).
Takeaways from Gabriel's Japan trip so far. 1) Japan is remarkably affordable at this time. 2) Just when you think you know all there is to know about train travel, now you have to put three tickets into the ticket-reader machine at the same time. Never would have thought of that. 3) Italy's freccia high-speed trains remain my favorites but the Japanese take it up a notch when you get on your first-class coach and the dude is there to bow to you. Attention Trenitalia! 4) I've said it more than once before but it bears repeating. Among all RUclipsrs anywhere, Gabriel remains the master of the musical interludes. Nobody selects music better.

I can’t think of anything better than spending a month traveling around Japan, especially now it’s no longer so prohibitively expensive. I love how trains are so efficient there, and how the employees bow to you (not only in first class). You should have bought a rail pass, Gabe, as that allows you to use their wonderful trains without having to buy tickets.
Having been to Japan a few times, I've found not having a rail pass is cheaper, particularly if only going in one direction and also allows you on the quicker trains (the JRail passes are limited)
@@mark123655 You're probably right for Gabe's itinerary. We got a regional Kansai pass that made sense, but I do remember the national passes were much more expensive.

Hi Gabriel. I've been to japan with my little brother. We've been to asakuza and akihabara in tokyo. Taste the micro foods that looks like toys. We bought plenty of green tea kitkats too.
As you're seeing. Fukushima City is just a city, but the prefecture (which is quite large) has some great mountain areas (which you already mentioned you'd head for). West/South West of the city is a mountainous area called Bandai-Azuma - home to volcanoes, lakes etc. You'd probably need a rental car to get out there and explore around (a car is a lot better of an option once you get away from Tokyo), but if you can find a way it's pretty awesome.
Interesting to note that places like Japan use European digits as numbers. I’m sure the Japanese had their own version of numbers but it seems perhaps they were replaced by the European digits, despite Japan never being colonised by a foreign power. Or perhaps they do have their own version of numbers but it’s just not used on signs.

Hi Gabriel, That's definitely what we need in the U.S. a high-speed rail or the hyperloop that's highly touted but hasn't been produced some signs showing hopefully, soon what difference for traveling long distances. It's a nice room good price food looks good. I'm sure you're curious to find out what's around you it should be interesting.
i was on a Shinkansen once trying to get to Fukuoka and noticed an older man was in my seat. Politely showed him my ticket but he would not move. He kept telling me something in Japanese and obviously I had no idea what he was saying. Turned out not only was I in the wrong car, I was on the entirely wrong train, going in the wrong direction. 😂Gotta love Japan.
Hi Gabriel, will you be heading to Sendai? I lived there for 3 years, so if you want some suggestions of what to do, let me know. Probably the most famous place near Sendai is Matsushima, a short train ride from Sendai. It's one of Japan's 3 great views. Let me know if you want more ideas. I'm really enjoying your Japan videos! By the way, a few videos ago, you were at a vending machine and saw something that you thought was yoghurt, but it was actually cream corn soup. If you find it again you should try it. It's incredible!😋
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Oh, right on! Ok, well as I said, the greatest thing to see while you are in the Sendai area is Matsushima. It's about 30 minutes or so outside of Sendai. From Sendai station, get on the Senseki train line and head to Matsushimakaigan station. Definitely head to the oceanside to see one of Japan's 3 greatest views. You should definitely check out Godaido temple, perched out on a little island. My favorite place in Matsushima is Entsuin temple; the garden is so beautiful and peaceful, and the autumn colors must be stunning right now. You can walk to all these places since Matsushima is pretty compact. Great seafood there too! If you have more time in Sendai, check out Chuo street and Ichibancho; probably the biggest covered shopping arcade in Japan. If you want to see the best temple garden in Sendai, check out Rinnoji temple in the Kitayama area. Not totally sure how to get there by subway, since I always walked there because it was near my apartment, but possibly take the subway to Kita Sendai. Well worth the visit! Anyways, great to connect with you! I'm actually a new subscriber, since the RUclips algorithm let me know you were in Japan. I've heard about you before though, from Mr. Baldr! He was talking about you a lot in Nepal. If you need any more advice while you are in Sendai, please message me! Safe travels!
Actually, now that I think about it more, allow me to revise that list I gave you. #1. Definitely go to Matsushima. #2. Definitely go to Yamadera. It is a temple at the top of a mountain. You have to climb over 1000 stone stairs to reach the top and along the way you come across mysterious statues, stone lanterns, and natural rock formations that look like faces! And of course a beautiful temple at the top with an amazing view, stunning fall colors too! A definite must see. It's in the prefecture next to Miyagi, called Yamagata. To get there from Sendai station, take the Senzan train line to Yamadera station. #3. If you have time to kill around the time you are taking the train to either of those places, you should check out the covered shopping arcade! To get there, exit the front of Sendai station. It's the main exit as you come down the escalators when you arrive on the bullet train. There is an extensive network of raised walkways over the streets in front of Sendai station. As you exit, head to the right, and follow the walkways to a very tall building next to the station called AER building. You will find the entrance to the covered shopping arcade across from the entrance of AER building. #4. Definitely go to #1 and #2!😁
