    Jason's a great instructor. I attended his advanced carbine course he ran a few years back in New Mexico. I've never fired so any rounds in a two-day span outside of combat.

    Former SASR so Pro. Has the fastest and coolest looking double feed clearing I've ever seen.

    He explained the why's very well. I've always wondered why more guys don't run a higher mount for faster sight picture. Falla is one squared away dude.

    Great stuff Jason! As always, it is a pleasure to see you present information in the way you always do. Your sling makes sense and we look forward to it hitting the market if it hasn't yet!

    outstanding setup for an operator with NVGs....not so much for regular Joe home defender. I totally agree with the logic once he explained it. btw I have always liked 2 point slings. I use a 2 point on my duty rifle now. I must have his sling!!!!!

    That neck sleeve on the sling seems nice

    That High Optic mount also means inconsistent positioning and sight picture thru the optic. Which might be fine for CQB and Run-In-Gun style shooting, but is far less desirable when any kind of accuracy is needed.

    I'm still not so sure about that really high optics mount. That being said, he makes a damn good argument for it.

      @Wassgood19 7 лет назад +15

      He does, my only concern is the almost ridiculous height over bore and the integrity of the mount if the weapon is dropped directly on the optic.

    He and Travis haley should do something together

    Good for him trying to kill a bothersome golden cow that people cling to. Never understood why people would get so pissy about proper cheek weld at such close distances, you're not shooting fly balls of the guys shoulder & with all that equipment it makes it much easier to make a precise shot.
    The only complaints would be the strength of the mount from drops & if some higher mag optic would still be in that high position, no need to throw the baby out with the bathwater on the cheek weld bit.

    Less neck pain seems good too with that high mount

    Awesome video. My carbine utilizes a Larue 1/3 cowitness mount, and my hand stop is very far forward on the rail. I figured the less I bend my support arm, the more recoil I can direct straight back into my shoulder. But I notice that Jason runs his VFG fairly close in, even for an SBR. I'd love to know more about his thinking behind that and whether or not I should bring my hand stop closer to the center of the firearm. Anyone have thoughts?

    Sternocleidomatoid is more anterior lateral than back of neck but it’s still tension with a lower optic mount

    That stuff doesn't seem like it's for me. But he made a great presentation on how it works for him, so more power to him and I hope his stuff sells well. Lots of thought was put into it.

    Not having to to cant your AR 45 degrees to shoot with a pro mask alone would be a great reason to use that high mount.

    Will this work with only aimpoint and eotech magnifiers or will others like sig sauer juliet, holosun, and vortex work?

    • @Ghost17110
      @Ghost17110 4 года назад

      been looking into this as well, I *think* the new vortex micro 3x magnifier should fit on the mount

    Ironically, wouldn't carry the gun using a 2 point sling in that manner create a lot of neck and shoulder strain? people carrying DSLRs around have been complaining for years about such problems and an ar 15 is heavier than any camera out there. There doesn't seem to be any difference in terms of shoulder switching and flexibility compared with a single point sling.

      I think its designed purely for rilfe to handgun transitions and back which for SASR is 2 seconds. The other times you have the gun in your hand at the high ready or low ready position or in the second position if you need your hands free.

    Should build an aftermarket kydex super-riser cheek piece for the stock to go along with that red dot mount.

    Don't get me wrong,the dude knows his shit but for a guy that talks about science based approach which is awesome he advocates hanging a 6 7 or8 pound carbine around your neck which can fatigue your neck muscles pretty fast if you already have Kevlar and nods on. Why not just use the shoulder for the sling? I have never really noticed a reason to just use the neck.

    A cheek weld helps align your eye in the red dot tube to see the red dot on target. Your head floating and aligning it with the tube doesn't seem like a good idea for us civilians.
