I'm not gonna be like everyone else and say $1,600 is "too expensive" because you usually get what you pay for but I would definitely want to see if it's as reliable as a $1,600 rifle should be.
I have wanted to see an AR style rifle with an ACR Stock for forever. This is gorgeous. Love the handguard/rail on it too. Hopefully it works half as awesome as it looks.
I mean.... I done get the appeal of a QD barrel... The whole upper receiver disassembles with two pins.... Idk... If all the bits don't stay attached to the gun IDK why anyone would want that when all you gotta do is pop 2 pins. The folding stock is a nice feature... But taking the gun apart... I don't get it... Unless it makes cleaning easier...
You pop the because that won't really make it much smaller of a package it's still going to be your barrel length plus the length of your upper, but you make it so you can remove your barrel and fold your stock and suddenly your package is only the size of your longest piece usually the barrel, makes my AR less than 10inches when its collapsed.
Getting kind of tired of hearing Canadians gloating about the fact that SBRs and SBSs aren't as restricted in Canada I mean this guy wasn't bad he did a good job of representing the firearm, but I've been noticing it more and more lately - like guys is that all you're hanging onto, the fact that you can easily own an SBR. What about the fact that all you can put in that SBR is a 5 round mag. Forgot to mention that part right. Not trying to rain on your Canadian parade, but let's acknowledge the problems we have instead of pretending they don't exist, and bragging about this and that.
Dylan Shoemaker they can't even "easily" own it though. The process of owning any firearm in Canada is a pain in the ass. I have 3 friends in Canada all gun enthusiasts and they all tell me how the hoops they have to go through to own a firearm makes it almost not worth it.
Theres a 2500 one thats definitely worth it. The barrel folds to the left so its all one piece. Forgot the name but if you do some digging you should find it
I just want the ACR butt stock and ability to side charge. I can do without the quick detache barrel. Great idea though, I hope they develope more products.
I bet they could put a little more work into this rifle to improve it and make it so the barrel and hand guard assembly would stay attached but pull forward and pivot to the left of the gun, opposite the stock. That way it would all stay together as 1 piece when collapsed instead of having 2 pieces that could get separated.
Even after he has practiced I am sure. I would love to see him prove he can put it together in 30 seconds.Because when something goes down and you have to hide and put it together before being able to fire back your already at a big disadvantage, but if it takes longer than 30 seconds and I bet it does you might be dead before you get your gun together. So having it in a small package doesn't help if you can't use it in time.
so you said it has the same barrel/gas system as a standard ar15, so in theory at a gunshop (if they had one) you could buy it without the barrel and just plop on a 16 inch barrel?
It's better to look at it more like a SCAR or ACR than an AR15 base, it's using their type of bolt carrier. The impingement choice is probably to reduce moving parts around the barrel breakdown, leaving the barrel section rigid.
$1600. Is not to much for a quality made and functional rifle . Most SBRs from factories start $1800. and skyward . the nice features of this rifle is that it brakes down into a small pack also the side charge lever works great inside small and tight spaces. Great weapons system !!! P.S. Finish is great
So does this mean you no longer need to have a vice clamp and a barrel nut wrench to change barrels? Can you use 458 sitcom in this rifle with a barrel change?
I'd bet heavily on restricted as an AR-15 variant. The lower is different, but not the level of differentiation we've seen with things like the Modern Hunter. Considering the Sig MCX is classed as an AR: I'd say this will be too. - Edward
TFB TV My understanding was the MCX got Restricted due to barrel length only, since the samples submitted had 16" barrels, and Sig wasn't keen on doing a run of 18.6 or 20" for us Canucks. But I've been wrong before. I know the MCX upper will work on a regular AR15 lower, but not the other way around.
Do those other choices break down like that and also feel like an AR? Something unique will cost extra. You're not quite guilty of it, but all the other guys complaining about cost might complain less after you cut their $800 AR15's barrel off and bend their buffer tube in half, then ask them to make it shoot again.
ShimmeringSword that's an idiotic analogy. And an AR is already a "takedown". Takedown there by far my favorite rifles and shotguns but these pistol variance are completely useless and wildly overpriced. The only reason someone would get a pistol variant takedown I would think is because it should be more accurate and reach longer in a rifle configuration. However that's almost never true because the barrel length is basically the same as a competition pistol. This is pretty much the most useless class of firearms in the gun community.
Doug21 Since its under 18.5" (the barrel) it's classified as restricted meaning that you need a different licence and the gun can only be used at the range. For some stupid reason ARs are restricted by name.
B.D.B. So what are you saying? No more lethal than pistol rounds so you would not use it for self defense. Do you use a pistol for self defense? I mean, pistol rounds are no more effective than pistol rounds, so I assume you don't use them for self defense either.
first.... you can have sbr's in Canada without stamp/ permits? either way I don't care, just wondering, I built a sbr honeybadger look a like. no I don't have a stamp. because I am not going to pay the government to exercise my right
Evil_Teddy thanks. Not cheap but not as expensive as many other companies would charge for something like this. I'd love to have one although I'd just want a normal looking version. Maybe it'd save me a few bucks
DRD forgot their loyal customers... Before everything , bunch of people ordered kits from this unknown company and let them establish their company.. Now those founder costomers neglected and cant even get parts for their rifles...We ended up $1000 pile of metal.. Company forgot their founder fathers..No respond, no action for their founder fathers.. These actions ecpected from chinese knock of componies, not from American company..
i love the finish on the receiver, that used dirty look
I'm not gonna be like everyone else and say $1,600 is "too expensive" because you usually get what you pay for but I would definitely want to see if it's as reliable as a $1,600 rifle should be.
Well I bought their 338 lupua mag 0.5 at 500 yrds. Haven't tried 1000 yet but will let you know if you like
I have wanted to see an AR style rifle with an ACR Stock for forever. This is gorgeous.
Love the handguard/rail on it too. Hopefully it works half as awesome as it looks.
the video is 2 min 23 seconds long... 223...
Dark Angel Dreadnought Half Life 3 confirmed.
Microzombie i mean like .223 ammunition, that's the caliber AR15s shoot
Dark Angel Dreadnought Yeah...I know...
+Microzombie :P maybe there will be an M16 in the totally confirmed HL3...
Maybe I'm not free enough because for me its 2 min 22 seconds :(
That's bad ass love it,would like to see how it holds up over time.
Finally! An AR with an ACR stock!
The finish on the gun is really nice.
I really like that finish
I especially like the side charging handle! Here's another fine weapon I'll most likely never be able to own.....
the dolos system seems like a better option
Less expensive too
xrklkx
Dolos needs a .308 option
slick looking rifle.
Would love to see this in short stroke piston configuration.
Nice work Edward, no fair making it to Shot Show lol.
looks nice with that ACR stock.
Congratulations you got yourself a new subscriber
love the music in the end
sounds like it would be a contender for NR in Canada with the right length of barrel.
I want one. I might change some parts, but I still want an AR-15 with a sexy folding stock for once. A also would want side and under barrel rails.
Awsome truck gun!"bad neighborhoods"
kinda digging that finish, almost like it's a little worn on the hard edges. no point to it but then again there doesn't need to be, it looks cool.
I mean....
I done get the appeal of a QD barrel...

@@jasonsmith8567 And that anger induced mess of a response is how we know you're the real inbred in this conversation.
Looks cool.

beautiful sbr

if it works reliably, that's a damn reasonable price for that package
I need this. . like yesterday
Heeyyyy...that's pretty good!
Beautiful!
Someone needs to design an AR quick change barrel system similar to the one used on the MG42. Making a barrel change as easy as a magazine change.
so you said it has the same barrel/gas system as a standard ar15, so in theory at a gunshop (if they had one) you could buy it without the barrel and just plop on a 16 inch barrel?
bonjour sympathique vidéo arme de drd a canon cours et le calibre très bien en 308 merci de se partage vidéo cordialement
So I guess the bolt carrier group is custom just to shorten it and give it a spring, because it can't be in the butt obviously.
It's better to look at it more like a SCAR or ACR than an AR15 base, it's using their type of bolt carrier. The impingement choice is probably to reduce moving parts around the barrel breakdown, leaving the barrel section rigid.
Dolos system takes like a 1/3 the time to setup and take down
hopefully non restricted in Canada!
Zach Howard nah it will be called an AR15 and it will be restricted, but nice idea anyway
$1600. Is not to much for a quality made and functional rifle . Most SBRs from factories start $1800. and skyward . the nice features of this rifle is that it brakes down into a small pack also the side charge lever works great inside small and tight spaces. Great weapons system !!!

Can you use 458 sitcom in this rifle with a barrel change?
God damn you Eugene stoner, why didn't you design the original ar like this?
this would be an assassin's dream weapon
my question is if in canada it will be classed as an ar im assuming it will be but it would be great if it was not
Awsome
So what is the purpose of a takedown???
If you were a betting man, Ed, what do you think the status of one of these would be? Restricted as AR variant, or Restricted by barrel length only?
I'd bet heavily on restricted as an AR-15 variant. The lower is different, but not the level of differentiation we've seen with things like the Modern Hunter. Considering the Sig MCX is classed as an AR: I'd say this will be too. - Edward

The amount of AR-15 parts used?
Bladsmith Didn't he say it uses an AR lower?
The components inside are AR parts. Lower itself looks slightly proprietary.
it looks amazing, but I 1,600usd....a lot of other choices of cool guns out there.
Do those other choices break down like that and also feel like an AR?
Something unique will cost extra. You're not quite guilty of it, but all the other guys complaining about cost might complain less after you cut their $800 AR15's barrel off and bend their buffer tube in half, then ask them to make it shoot again.

The ACR
What kind of finish is that on gun? looks really nice
Cool looking gun. Time will tell if it's worth it or not for the price. Don't forget 200$ tax on top of msrp.
ACR! ACR! ACR!
can you buy the lower with the acr stock and use it with any ar15 upper you have
Did he mention the finish?
Is the lower interchangeable with a standard AR? I know all the parts are the same, I'm just curious about the lower itself.
What's the point of having a SBR .308?
Canadian available?
The finish was stupid, but the gun was cool. I'll look out for one.
I thought the finish was cool, really just because it isn't a standard finish. I hate seeing the same generic finishes on everything.....
Any update on this firearm?
the junction grip to receiver is a complete failure !!!
Nice try guys, but I'll keep my Sig MCX.
Whats the Finish ?
Is this considered a restricted firearms in Canada due to its several AR parts?
Valderhide I think he said it uses an AR lower so probably.
I don't think so, based off 1:46 it doesn't look like your conventional ar lower
Why is the finish made of old mechanics tools and dirty motor oil?
I mean it's neat, but the furniture looks out of place.
Personally I like sbr's because I'm from Canada. 😂😂😂
So Canada doesn't have the same laws that the NFA enforce? I.e. Sbr's?
No we don't
Doug21 but we have many many other stupid gun laws to make up for it.
Doug21 Since its under 18.5" (the barrel) it's classified as restricted meaning that you need a different licence and the gun can only be used at the range. For some stupid reason ARs are restricted by name.
Great way to pack a gun in a lunch box
still restricted by name as an ar15 inst it tfb
5.56 from barrels shorter than ~9.5" are no more lethal than pistol rounds. Fine for target shooting, but I wouldn't use this for self defense.
B.D.B. Yeah, since it takes AR barrels it would be better to use 300blk
B.D.B. So what are you saying? No more lethal than pistol rounds so you would not use it for self defense. Do you use a pistol for self defense? I mean, pistol rounds are no more effective than pistol rounds, so I assume you don't use them for self defense either.
is there no buffer tube??
Ian Doesn't look like it.
Does anyone wanna test if this is compatible with TacticalLife's takedown barrel?
ruclips.net/video/1mtANeohSNQ/видео.html
first.... you can have sbr's in Canada without stamp/ permits? either way I don't care, just wondering, I built a sbr honeybadger look a like. no I don't have a stamp. because I am not going to pay the government to exercise my right
I hate when the gun has an unique bolt carrier group and the video forgets to show it.
nice prefer this vid mightmly#military
Maybe I missed it but what was the MSRP?
biggboysouth $1600
Evil_Teddy thanks. Not cheap but not as expensive as many other companies would charge for something like this. I'd love to have one although I'd just want a normal looking version. Maybe it'd save me a few bucks
would be better with a 10 or an 11. I think this short barrels just defeat the purpose of the round they are using.
I thought this looked similar to the gun fpsrussia was using when he almost got himself killed..
Not cotter pin....
So expensive
How much
Nvm
Instead of talking about it and boasting your stats... tear it down. If it's 30 seconds... what do you have to lose?
Want
Does he say MSRP is 1,695 or 6,095? If it's $6,095 that's fucking ridiculous!
SBR's are the only good thing about canada
I'd like to pay USD.10,000 to own this suit case rifle.
so I was not aware that was a Canadian thing to like sbrs how ignorant of me
Juan Aguirre S.B.R.'s are legal up north. That's what he's saying.
Charles White really dude ? it's called sarcasm
Juan Aguirre the more fool I.
Great idea. Would be also nice as Airsoft Replika :-)
that's expensive...
Sexay!
Shut up and take my money!
If it just was born as a piston... But not. Really sad.
DRD forgot their loyal customers... Before everything , bunch of people ordered kits from this unknown company and let them establish their company.. AN OTHERWISE PERFECT RIFLE, NEEDS TO BE DESIGNED WITH A FORWARD ASSIST.
Dolos is better and faster
Worst gun I’ve ever shot. They should be ashamed to sell this to the public.
Ew
Boy... this is gonna piss-off the left😀
I can have a take-down "pistol" with a dolos and law tactical WAY CHEAPER than $1600, and not have useless proprietary bullshit...FAIL
no and no. the dolos gen 2 is better all the way around.
too quiet... too dark..... weak editing
Ray D. They probably got other gun press people lined up to give their report on it.
Hold back its release for a half hour and put some time into editing it
