Thanks for the video. If noise was a complaint why didn't you try to show that in the review? If you have another video that shows it I would be interested to see it.
Hello, yes I've made sorbet many times. If I remember right the first thing I ever made was raspberry sorbet! Usually a sugar syrup plus frozen or fresh fruit. The machine has a sorbet setting.
This does look bloody good. I was sooo near to getting this but it is just too big. Which? Recommend as the best way for its kind. Thanks for the advice & insight. James
Using the recipe out of the book that come from the machine. Using the easy vanilla ice cream (without eggs because of health issues). My question is how do I stop the icy taste when freezing because I can't eat the whole recipe in one go. What can I add to help this?
That sounds to me like the container you're putting in the freezer isn't airtight. If moisture / air gets in ice crystals form. Try using a container that completely seals.
@@alexcalde4422 the churning / freezing takes about an hour. If you're making custard this takes about 20 minutes. Plus it's best to freeze the ice cream again after churning, so about two and a half hours total. Enjoy making ice cream!
Do you notice the machine working less efficiently the longer you are using it? I have read a lot of reviews saying theirs stopped worked well. Thank you!
I am looking for a machine which makes apsulatly smooth ice cream whithout any ice crystals. I tried same machines but I was not satisfied. I want to buy this machine but ı want to make sure it produces crystal free smooth ice cream. I appriciate if users of this machine will help me to decide. Thank you in advance
What happened there is I had something in the fridge in a cardboard box - I want to say a pizza - the cardboard was damp and stuck to the shelf. I did clean it up later, but it's one of those things you forget when you film 😂

How loud is the Smart Scoop ice cream machine? #food #icecream #kitchengadgets
i have the machine and i used it 5 times so far in 2 years.
Are you enjoying it?
@@BigSpud i will have to otherwise is a very expensive machine
Hello and thanks. This unit comes with a pre-cool function. Why did you store the mix in the fridge instead of using this function?
In my experience it does not cool the mixture down sufficiently quickly before churning. The feature is more for pre cooling the pail ready to use.
@@BigSpud Makes sense. Thanks!
Hi, do you tested some sorbet ice ? I cant take eggs, lactose and some a few thinks..thanks

It is big and heavy too! I'm currently reviewing a couple of different machines and all of them need to be this size to have the built in compressor.

Something you can also do is put plastic wrap on top of it and then put a lid on the airtight container to prevent ice crystals from forming
Great vid! Thanks.
Thanks! Are you in the market for an ice cream machine?
can u make gelato just to see diference icecrm and gelato.
Regards
I'll work on a quick video for you next week, but the gelato is much softer-serve than ice cream. Obviously you can tweak the recipe for that too.
@@BigSpud Thank you m8, i wanna buy same machine buy i wanna see if that machine can make that differens (ice cream and gelato) :)
Nice video m8.
Creamy hazelnut gelato
You think you can make protein ice cream in this?
No reason why not, it's just a cooling device with a churn. I can't say I've tried it but if you find a good recipe it should work.
@@BigSpud alright thanks! just wondering since there is obviously a much lower fat content
@@lofivibez182 it has settings for frozen yoghurts and sorbets, plus there are many dairy free recipes so I'm sure it would be fine.
Nice video, good work :). Using an invert sugar for ice-cream can improve the texture as it reduces crystal formation and gives a smoother result.
Thanks! I have tried that before but I didn't notice any improvement over caster sugar. I'm currently exploring dairy-free bases.
@@BigSpudAny good recipes established for dairy free?
@@youtubewts I recommend visiting @PolarIceCreamery who has great vegan recipes. EDIT: can't seem to link to his channel but that's the username.
How much cream, milk, and brown sugar did you use roughly?
Hi there - check the video description for the full recipe and ingredients quantities.

Me too! Lost count of the amount of ice cream batches I have made.
Do you notice the machine working less efficiently the longer you are using it? I have read a lot of reviews saying theirs stopped worked well. Thank you!
Hi! I have seen those reviews as well. I can't say I've noticed any degradation.
Can you make slushy in this ?
I tried this recently and the answer is 'sort of'. The sorbet setting gets the best result but it's a chunkier granita finish.
It’s a brilliant machine but I don’t use it enough. That’s not to say I’m sorry i bought it but i recognise the extravagance.
Well then promise yourself to make some this week!

In my experience the ice cream has always been very smooth and free of crystals. Should be true of any premium ice cream machine.
Thank you very much.

I have it. But it is awful. I never advice that you buy it,
Sorry to hear that. Why do you dislike it?

400 pounds. I don’t think so.
Depends how much you like ice cream.
