    Thanks for the video. If noise was a complaint why didn't you try to show that in the review? If you have another video that shows it I would be interested to see it.

    Hello and thanks. This unit comes with a pre-cool function. Why did you store the mix in the fridge instead of using this function?

    • @BigSpud
      @BigSpud  2 года назад +2

      In my experience it does not cool the mixture down sufficiently quickly before churning. The feature is more for pre cooling the pail ready to use.

    • @BigSpud
      @BigSpud  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hello, yes I've made sorbet many times. If I remember right the first thing I ever made was raspberry sorbet! Usually a sugar syrup plus frozen or fresh fruit. The machine has a sorbet setting.

    This does look bloody good. I was sooo near to getting this but it is just too big. Which? Recommend as the best way for its kind. Thanks for the advice & insight. James

      It is big and heavy too! I'm currently reviewing a couple of different machines and all of them need to be this size to have the built in compressor.

    Using the recipe out of the book that come from the machine. Using the easy vanilla ice cream (without eggs because of health issues). My question is how do I stop the icy taste when freezing because I can't eat the whole recipe in one go. What can I add to help this?

    • @BigSpud
      @BigSpud  2 года назад +4

      That sounds to me like the container you're putting in the freezer isn't airtight. If moisture / air gets in ice crystals form. Try using a container that completely seals.

    • @foxtrot2284
      @foxtrot2284 Год назад +4

      Something you can also do is put plastic wrap on top of it and then put a lid on the airtight container to prevent ice crystals from forming

    Nice video, good work :). Using an invert sugar for ice-cream can improve the texture as it reduces crystal formation and gives a smoother result.

      @@alexcalde4422 the churning / freezing takes about an hour. If you're making custard this takes about 20 minutes. Plus it's best to freeze the ice cream again after churning, so about two and a half hours total. Enjoy making ice cream!
