  • Here's my little test composition "Song Without Words" for the Addictive Keys Piano Library by XLN Audio. I recorded it spontaneous deep in the night, lol, so it's without a vid.
My conclusion: Nice piano library especially for modern pop piano compositions, just the reverb/room is (like in many other libraries too) pretty unrealistic. The reason is that the grand piano was recorded dry and then you've to add the internal software reverb later.
    More own compositions coming soon!
    Enjoy!

Hey man, this is truly heavenly. Loved every bit of the composition. The vst actually sounds like a real grand. I just love the Steinway grand tone. Love to hear more of your work. ❤️

I love it. I love playing this wonderful instrument myself and you are really inspiring. This composition, in my opinion, covers all the parts of life: happy, sad, in love etc. I can taste a mix of all of them and that's why this piece ends up in "my favourites". Thanks for uploading this one :)

Your song makes me close my eyes and remember the most indelible times of my life. It has all flavors - the sweetness of love, the bitterness of regret, the salt of tears, the tartness of endeavor, and the delicious tranquility of achievement.
I agree that if alerted to, the reverb sounds somewhat homogenous compared to that with actually playing an acoustic piano, but your legato here is so beautifully smooth and seamless, it is not a factor in the overall aesthetics. Extraordinary composition and very true to your heart, my friend. :)

Gingerly550 Thank you so much for your nice words! The background is that I'm currently searching for a piano library which can replace my Sampletekk Black grand in future. I can only use it with Windows XP and XP is not longer supported. So I'm testing some new one's. But I haven't found so far. All pretty nice, but not 100% convincing for me. Mostly because of the reverb. The next I will try is the "Garritan Abbey Road Studios CFX" with a natural concert hall recording. Here's a - how I find - very realistic sounding demo of a YT user: ruclips.net/video/plmFRduxX_M/видео.html . What do you think about it?

What a lovely little Mazurka - the pianist is wonderful - sounds like Horowitz! My humble opinion is that the piano tones are very bright and crisp, the reverb still sounds a bit uniform, but I think that could be a function of the modulation. There is also a fair amount of white noise, hiss and echo, especially with the softer passages when the listening volume is set above 50%, as if it were a recording of a remote mic recording - maybe an editing or playback issue? Or is that the "natural concert hall recording" sound you refer to? Overall, I think the piano sound itself is very realistic. :)

pianomusiclovr (Pianist and Composer) I should clarify that my last comment was in reference to the Chopin link you directed me to. Your recording here is quite perfect with none of the deterioration that occurs with multiple re-recordings over the internet. :)
