    A few months ago, I participated in a community photo walk organized here in Toronto . During the event, I notice the small Point and Shoot cameras by Ricoh in the hands of fellow participants. It was truly fascinating to witness how effectively they were able to capture stunning photographs.
    excellent work. great to see the incredible shots captured by you .

      Thanks! There's a difference between marketing and what a photographer truly needs to realize their vision.

    Just a note; while in the snap mode, everything beyond 1m is not in focus when you select 1m. The depth is determined by aperture again. So it's like the zone focusing technique but in digital.
    I'm sure you're aware but had to let know for new gr users or admirers...
    great photos, great video.
    peace!

    Lovely review, thanks!
    I've had similar battery issues with mine, sometimes the camera would just switch off.
    Putting a small piece of paper on the top of the battery fixed that for me.
    It pushes the battery more firmly into the compartment and makes the connections better.
    Hoping that might work for you!

    What up fellow torontonian street photographer 👊🏾 great video. I have been shooting with an Olympus OMD EM10 Mark 2 since 2016. I like your messaging it doesn't matter what you are shooting with, as long as you're out in the streets and shooting that's all that matters.

      @trinitek  Год назад

      Yup u gotta find a camera and system that works for you, not the manufacturer! 😉 For your needs you might want to check out the Sony a6000 line of cameras. They're small and great with video, and lots of options for bokeh!

    I have the griiix and love it for the size & the ibis. I hate it because its so much smaller than my XE1 and my 23mm f1.4 so i don't wan't to bring the fuji with me.

    • @therealboogie23
      @therealboogie23 6 месяцев назад

      @trinitek Yes, I thought about that but it's gonna be expensive I would. Sure the 40mp and IBIS would be great but I already have a Z5 and with my 28mm 2.8 on it or me getting the 26mm 2.8 to make it even slimmer, I can't me myself dropping that when I could just wait and upgrade my z5 to the z6 iii. If you didn't sell me on this I was 🤏🏽 close to grabbing the Canon GX1 Mii for my upcoming trip!

      I see. For portability, the Ricoh can't be beat. I stand by that. In the real world, tucking that thing in your pocket makes all the difference between choosing to carry (lug) your camera all day, or not.

      @trinitek  11 месяцев назад

      Hey there. Yes, for most of the photos in this video, I am using the Positive Film simulation on the Ricoh GR iii. There are edits to some shots, but some are unedited, and straight out of camera.

  • @CasperLabuschagne

    Due to the EVF the Fujifilm would have been a first choice except that I cannot get it anywhere. Thus it is the GR-III quirks and all.

    • @trinitek
      @trinitek  9 месяцев назад +2

      Indeed the evf is valuable. But once you start carrying the gr iii everywhere you go, and you realize how many more moments you can capture, you'll probably forget about the evf! You won't regret your decision.

    • @martingreenberg870
      @martingreenberg870 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@trinitek There is no EVF for the GR. You can purchase a view finder to put into the Hot shoe. It will not communicate with the camera and let you preview or allow you to frame your image as the camera sees it. The Ricoh VF is expensive at ~$150. Try one of the plastic ones from China for ~$15. Bear in mind you get what you pay for.

      @trinitek  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I thought about purchasing the hotshoew viewfinder for the Ricoh, but then I feel like it defeats the size and portability advantage. A built in evf would be preferable imo, like I mentioned in the Video. But I suppose the hotshoew option is better than nothing!

    • @trinitek
      @trinitek  8 месяцев назад

      Hey thanks for your comment/question. If you noticed in the review vid, I did not touch on video with the Ricoh - and that's because the video is pretty rough. This is not at all a hybrid camera. Definitely a niche stills camera, and definitely not an all rounder. If you want a small setup with good video, consider the Fuji's, or the Sony A6000 cameras!

    can the shutter sound be inactivated for supreme stealth?

    • @trinitek
      @trinitek  3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah. U can use the electronic shutter and there won't be much of any sound. The reason I don't usually use that is because it can lead to odd things like banding in lights at certain shutter speeds. Also, it's just satisfying to hear and feel that shutter click!

    • @trinitek
      @trinitek  3 месяца назад

      I didn't really appreciate the image quality out of the GR iii until I looked at it on a proper monitor/laptop. Smart phones are still nowhere near what these can do. And that's part of the beauty of the GR, it takes an experienced eye to appreciate the IQ sometimes.

    • @trinitek

      Hey there. I haven't personally used the Ricoh GR ii, but the built-in flash is something that's in the ii that I wish I had in the iii. As well, I hear that some people like the version of the positive film preset more than the iii version. If you can find a ii for much less than the iii, and it's in good condition then it might be worth it!

    Street photography is so boring. Filming a bunch of brainwashed zombies shuffle around ugly cities. It’s like watching a horror movie.

    • @trinitek
      @trinitek  10 месяцев назад +5

      Lol. Street photography isn't for everyone. I've got many friends that think it's wierd or obtrusive, or just mostly useless to society. What's kept me coming back to the genre is my love and fascination with the human experience. Photography can help to answer why some people become zombies and choose to live in ugly cities...
