Have to admit, king Bob bomb being just a laid back boss instead of an antagonist really worked out nicely. All the old man just wanted was a good old and friendly rematch with the plumber and he sure got it

I love how you named Berlin and Onyx based on these respective fonts, just like Sans and Papyrus are named after the Comic Sans MS and Papyrus fonts.
I think Berlin and Onyx are just like Sans and Papyrus from the Undertale series.

This was probably the best episode yet. Tails and Luigi vs. Berlin and Onyx and The Mario vs. Chuckya were two of my favorite fights. Excellent work on making Tails and holding his own. The different perspectives and cameras were top-notch. Everyone was in character and acted as they would in canon. Excellent work all around.

I appreciate the concept of King Bom-Omb not as a villain but as a man or bomb of fair trade and just wants a good battle instead of just trying to kill
He is kind of a gentlemen in that sort
So many fun references in this one, and got to say NEVER expected to see Undertale play a part in this...and have it work far better than by all means it should in theory. Impressive work, worth the wait :)

I also really love how Onyx was shown to be on par with Berlin. Let's be honest, people really downplay Pap in terms of his overall power. Undyne herself said Papyrus was pretty tough, so naturally he's gotta be on some pretty high level. Sans is more powerful because he honestly has to be. He's the judge. Someone who Sans has to fight is going to be strong, so he has to be too. But I like how the two were portrayed as well. Best portrayal of the two I've seen in a while, and it isn't even really Sans and Papyrus, it's Berlin and Onyx.
As a huge undertale fan. The fact that onyx and berlin are literally just mario and luigis version of sans and papyrus makes me happy. Cant wait to see how they will benefit the hero’s

I actually appreciated Tails not getting owned as it was about time he got some good spotlight as a competent fighter and not just a punching bag. But Luigi getting owned wasn't necassary. But i guess Tails would've gotten overshadowed if that didn't happen so i guess it's good.

Seeing Tails fight is so refreshing.
I really love Berlin and Onyx, they really play off each other well. Berlin, who's strong but lazy, and Onyx, who's strong and wants to improve more and more. Wonder who their master is? It could be that master from Paper Mario.
They're literally just dry bone versions of two Undertale characters renamed.

The story, the plot, the quality, OMG do I need to keep going? this has to be one of the best storylines of Super Mario Bros Z I've ever seen. you can really tell the number of touches and aspect's that were put into this. I really do hope this series continues! Great work 👍

As a undertale fan I like this especially since Toby fox's Inspiration to make undertale came from him playing earthbound a Nintendo game

Loving all the little references even if I don’t get all of them, like some of Sonic’s attacks referencing him knocking off Tabuu near the end of Brawl, and all the callbacks to past games, this definitely feels like a passion project.
That scene where mario has bad flashbacks of the cannon. . . I wish you used the scene from 64 in thawmps fortress where he LITERALLY HAD TO SHOOT HIMSELF AT A BRICK WALL TO BREAK IT WITH HIS OWN SKULL to get a powerstar.
Like, when you put it like that. . . yeah. . . that just sounds traumatizing. The mission was called "Blast Away the Wall". . . and I would have LOVED to see how that scene would play out in your animation style.

@@PhilosophicallyAmericanI mean no one can say so objectively. Even if Smashinity’s animation is technically impressive DX doesn’t have it where it counts in its story unlike Z.
There are a lot of cracks here in both the dialogue and in the overall narrative being told.
I waited for this episode, and being sincere, i liked it. It's just perfect, like the others. The timing in the battles, the funny jokes in the story (Berlin and Onyx are the perfect brother duo. Sorry, Mario and Luigi), the emotive moments, the seriousness in some scenes that requires in the correct moment, the soundtrack selected and the well-worked animations... I'm not a professional critic or anything of that; just a single boy that enjoys this work and want to see the progress of this project.
PD: I'm not a english speaker naturally, I'm really speak spanish. I've learning the basic language, but isn't perfect, I can make mistakes and forgot some easy words, sorry.

Bro you actually make few changes a bit different back during the original. I enjoyed the fight with Mario & Sonic teaming up to beat up King Bom omb that was quite an epic battle. Keep up the good work, and I'd look forward to episode 5! :D

Wow. I mean, I expected a Sans and Papyrus reference before this episode (thanks Intro) but I didn’t expect it to be THIS GOOD! At first I thought you would use mostly Fanon for their personalities, but Berlin and Onyx are amazing references to their original counterparts, and Onyx shrugging off that pun like Papyrus does in the original game is what got me hooked on these two not as one-off references, but as fully fledged characters.
Rewatching these episodes and seeing how great the comedic effect can be played with Berlin and Onyx and seeing how King Bomb-omb was a more laidback side character than an aggressive antagonist is actually a clever idea because in the Mario games he’s rarely seen working for Bowser. Last time it happened was in Paper Jam in 2015 hence the sprite work of him actually came from the game but yea phenomenal episode

I love you kept the honorable side of king bomb-omb just he is like in Super Mario 64!

Great episode as usual with amazing quality. You seem to know a lot about their characters from the classic era. It is true that before the modern era of Sonic games Shadow wasn't just Edgy the Hedgy, he was a great character as shown in Adventure 2, Heroes, and especially '06. I am glad it is mentioned that something was off about him.
Its very clear how much effort you put in it and hope you will. Be happy to see how much we fans liked it

he probably would see this as another undertale AU. Since the fandom at this point has bad habit of recoloring the entire story, and adding extra bits too it.

As a person belong UT fandom I agree. Most of AUs is just recolor or Sans get mad at Human from too much genocide or Sans going berserk from too much genocide (again) or replacing character with another character. But I’m pretty much a music appreciator so silly concept of most AUs didn’t bothering me that much.
No doubt one of the best channels out there producing this kind of animation. Well done!

This episode was really good! Top notch animation and im really invested in the story! The fight with the Bone Bros was awesome! Fav fight of the ep! King Bob-Omb had a great fight too! But if im being honest while it was very well animated I feel Chunkya was unreasonably powerful. Honestly I felt like he was a bigger threat than the King himself. He really didn't get his comeuppance for taking out Luigi and admittedly it was pretty unsatisfying. Still really well animated tho! Looking forward to the future!
