Every time I play an SRV or Mayer style lick I smile... I can’t imagine what it would feel like to do that in front of thousands of people. Powerful.

He takes this song to a whole new level on this performance... it's unbelievable how he can take a song and make it so vibrant once again after writing it.. cheers

If you're a critic then do yourself a favor and pay the $40 to go to his concert and come out of there not feeling like it's the best $40 you ever spent. So you like Mayer's earlier tone better than his current? This tone is vastly different from the one he has now. I also like this one a lot, but it's easily attained with a Fender amp, a compressor, a tubescreamer and a strat, preferrably with texas specials :-)

this was in 03, before fender made him a guitar. he replaced the original pickguard on his SRV sig with a turtle shell pickguard
