When you go to land, try to get your landing point as near the ocean as possible. You know you can reach the beach if it has (Coast) after the biome name. e.g. Mountains (Coast), Savannah (coast), ect... Once you land, bring up your surface map and look at where the it sort of flattens out and head that direction.
My favorite place to build a base: Jemison, just outside of New Atlantis. Go over by the Armistice Archive, and next to it is a little building with a view of a lake behind the city. Take note of this lake. Now go to the Lodge. From here, you can circle around back and there's a path leading out of the city. Follow the path until it turns into a trail and head off to the left a little, you'll find that lake. Follow it around to the opposite side of the lake and you'll find a bunch of boulders. If you've had your scanner open this whole time looking for a place to drop your outpost beacon, you'll notice that it won't let you build in or near the city. But, by these boulders, you can find the edge of the restricted area for outpost building. You'll be about 515m from the Lodge here, and you can clearly see where the boundary is. I found a nice little spot RIGHT next to the edge of that boundary, pointed my beacon so that when I spawn in at that location, it gives me a beautiful view of the city. Now why would I waste an outpost just to have a nice view of the city where there are no worthwhile resources? Because it's also a smuggling route. See, I'm a bit of a hoarder and one of the things I like to hoard is contraband. So of course I want to store it in my infinite storage safe at the Lodge. But how to get your contraband past the contraband scans when you don't have shielded cargo or jammers? Easy, if you land on the planet before they finish the scan, it'll interrupt the scan just as much as if you grav jumped away. The only limitation is that you can't land at major settlements, like New Atlantis, until they've scanned you. However, you CAN land at your outpost. And if your outpost is just a short hike outside of the city, you can hoof it the rest of the way. You just won't be able to use any of the fast travel points in the city. Which is fine, because you can just dump your contraband in your safe, go back up into space, and then let them scan you, and then land back in the city properly with full fast travel functionality restored. I've been trying to get the word out about this exploit for the last week or two but no one seems to be catching on yet.
Gonna have to try it. Location is key with your main outpost. Resources can be shipped in, but if me and my baby manma Andreja are gonna live here then it better be pleasing to look at.
Because we have vendor exploit, it's easier to make money that way than the hassle of contraband 😂 Now that the vendor exploit has been patched, your trick might be the best way to earn credits in the game, unless we find another exploit 😂
I saw this comment and meant to screenshot it and lost it and I have scoured all the Starfield videos I could recall watching and AT LAST I have found it! Thank you for posting this, my main base is going to be for smuggling and for the scenery! I'll catch a smile or two there, friend!
I currently have my main base in the Freya system, with the main building on a grassy hill overlooking a lake. Might be worth it to check it out for yourselves. The fauna is hostile, but nothing a few turrets can't handle.
my choice of home planet is Heinlein VI-a, it has many different biomes but my favorite is the hills, where it has green rolling hills and purple trees. and its orbiting a gas giant, so it also has a great view in the sky in the right spots/times
Actually I think I remember an episode of Anton Petrov's channel where he was talking about how at one stage in Earth's extremely early history (during initial life developing in the primordial seas) that Earth was in fact partly purple, so some actual scientific basis for the purple planet. It's some type of bacteria or waste discharge from early bacteria, something like that.
There’s nothing really to do on planets besides collect materials and kill some outpost spacers….wish there were more planetary quests, or big cities, unique trading outposts, larger enemies, and I’d also love to be able to land on planets physically like in no man’s sky.
At the very least you should be able to set up your own city, or encampment. You do all this work for the UC, or Freestar, or LIST, and... no one ever builds new cities? I know there is a treaty for the big 3 factions about not settling outside of 3 specific systems, but why not utilize other planets. Or how about making LIST an actual faction that you can truly expand and take over as the player to make it into a power? This would require proper buildings though, not just these lousy outpost modules. I'm sure it'll come as DLC eventually.
I landed on a planet in my first playthrough that had yellow bio luminescent grass covering the entire tile. I cant for the life of me remember what planet it was.
Id like to add my current favorite planet: Khayyam II . Unique spiral rocks formations, mostly of the faunas are peaceful and lots of tundra terrains in-between mountains for a hideout kind of outpost.
Proud to say that I found Nesoi all on my own! I didn’t have the dream home trait, nor did I look up any location guides. I simply looked for a central location around AC, Cheyanne, Neon, etc etc, and Olympus was right there. I looked around all the planets, and Nesoi stood out.
I saw Olympus and had to check it out. My outpost location was predetermined though, imagine my disappointment when I found out you need a perk to build there because Tethys is so cold.
I also like Zamka, located in the Alpha Centauri System. It has no friendly Athmosphere but a lovely foreign green colored Nature with wild rainy Storms and a beautiful view on its orange colored neighbouring Gas Planet. ❤️
I built my first "outpost" (landing pad, mission board, and bounty console) in the polar region of Kreet, during the tutorial. It is an unpatrolled system with easy access to the more civilized planets. There's even the odd Terrormorph roaming around the Natural points of interest. Keeps things exciting. The real question I have is whether putting points into Outpost Management unlocks a Trade Authority kiosk. That would complete my outpost design.
I love the video. Minor correction. The rocky outcrops and "steppe" or Savannah of Neso is more like parts of western united states than midwest. Midwest is super flat and the hills are very slow rises/pastoral looking. that looked more like parts of new mexico, utah, west texas, etc...
FINALLY! I have resources coming out my ears, so am glad to finally find a video with nice locations I can build my home base on! I have a dream home but can't even look out the windows! What a dumb idea that is.
Wait what the shit lol I got the dream home and was so bummed because my planet looks nothing like that and I hated how mine looked so I don’t even go there. Honestly love the terrormorph planet for my legendary bounty hunter secret base build. No one would accidentally stumble upon my secret base and live to tell about it lol galaxy’s edge Tyrus Rex vibes
I think theres at least one more purple planet. Cause the one i found was purple sand but full of aliens that float. They looked like brains. There were hundreds of them and they were hostile.
Most of those planets i explored myself. And they are beautiful. But what i really miss, there is never water on the planet. No small lakes, rivers or something like that. Its a bit sad because nature would look so much more great with rivers and lakes.
I already found coolest planet called Molochi, it has a breathable atmosphere and few flying aliens are harmless. I had set up my biggest camp there. Beautiful place!
Some planets have fantastic winter wonderland environments complete with lots of snow covered trees with the odd colorful plant to breakup the cool color palette
I spent 2 days looking for a planet to build my retirement outpost lol. I actually ended up on what you call the Vietnam planet lol. But if anyone has found a planet with a waterfall please let me know.
The only thing you got wrong here was that after the last battle of the colony war , when the Freestar Collective defeated the UC, it was the Freestar Collective, not the UC, that sent out a request for peace and a treaty. Even tho they won the battle, they were the ones that pushed for peace , this is why the 1st hated the FC, because they were already about to win the war but then put out a white flag.
Schrodinger VIII-a has hands down the best visuals if you find a place with the planet in the sky. It's perfect with its purple palm trees. Preferably build either on a hill or by a lakeside. Also: Denebola I-b. Check out the amazing, massive calderas in the volcanic biome.
Now that I know about Muphrid, i very much intend to build an outpost there, just so i can name it Taro Town. The whole planet looks like a taro smoothie, I think. 😂
05:07 Thats no moon... Another good one is Dionesyius where you have the Mantis mission.... those mountains you can see in the distance when you land at that mission.. yep you can go up there and you can build, the views are stunning. Bit hard to build a landing pad (almost impossible) but a mountain outpost is definitely doable. Alternatively bottom of the mountain gives you plenty of room in a nice snowy forest. Also the planet where you land at the Fortuna.. one of the freestar missions.. you can swim to any of the nearby islands amd build yourslef an island Outpost. Personally though I love the moons which are next to planet with rings.. Verne VII A is fantastic, land in the right spot you have a big ass orange gas giant and rings you can practicality touch.
Anyone else having trouble finding those glowing plants on Oborum? I remember being here for a temple and liking seeing the gas giant nearby in the sky, but I'm back looking for those plants and just can't find them. Really want to make a for fun outpost. 😩
Cool video, but I wish you would have included more info about the plants and animals that can be farmed in each place. Trying to find the right mix of farmable items and a nice "home" planet is sending me all over the starfield.
These were very cool places, looking for my "home" Two questions please. #1 How many outposts are we allowed initially? I have a few but wonder when I need to add a skill point to upgrade that number. #2 If an outpost is built on a deep freeze or inferno planet or moon does that keep it protected from bad guys coming to visit? I know there wouldn't be any fauna to worry about
When doing the Ranger quest line and you come up on the Marco Graziani quest "Fortuna" on planet Codos in the Cheyenne system if you want an ocean view outpost park your ship there at the Fortuna landing site and swim across the ocean to the other side, two resources there are Aluminum and Beryllium. The Hyla planet that was mentioned in the video, if you play it just right set your ship down as close as you can to where the wetlands meet the mountains, start running toward the mountains and you'll start seeing large pools of water with Fauna which can be scanned. ruclips.net/video/0fRy1pE-8HY/видео.html In my experience when placing outpost, Trees and huge Rocks are an issue, they are always popping up through my buildings and landing pads so I'm now going to try and avoid those sites as much as possible.

I'm pretty sure that parts of Montara Luna in the Cheyenne system fit the bill. Not a of trees but some, as well as sandy beach and safe water. Building a beach house there now, look for where savanna biome meets coast.
@@coriolass thank you so much, I will check it ☺ . Edit: OMFG I FOUND THERE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL SPOT WITH BEAUTIFUL SANDY BEACH EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR! THANK YOU SO MUCH! 🤩

I've spent 100 hours in Starfield without seeing a beach...lol

@@MarcSeePhotoHave you tried landing on the coast of planets with water? Like, if you land beside the ocean there's beach.

Building my home base right behind city next to the lake on a hill.ruclips.net/video/oSSuuqhHbHs/видео.htmlsi=Ls2OUj9rbrvvVvJz
I like the constant sound of breaking bones from a sprain... Very enjoyable... So thanks for that.
I currently have my main base in the Freya system, with the main building on a grassy hill overlooking a lake. Might be worth it to check it out for yourselves.

I love how throughout all these planetary tours - Griff's legs are almost perpetually broken. LOL
Personally I like building in the snowy mountains, especially when it snows it looks like your in Skyrim.
Eridani system has some nice livable planets and is fairly close to Alpha Centauri. Eridani II is also Reach (from Halo).
my choice of home planet is Heinlein VI-a, it has many different biomes but my favorite is the hills, where it has green rolling hills and purple trees. and its orbiting a gas giant, so it also has a great view in the sky in the right spots/times

Sadly it does not. The only kiosks are bounty board, mission board, and constellation board. I would love for a pirate kiosk buildable.
Yea a TA kiosk at your outposts would be great, I'm confident that SF will get a ton of building dlc like Fallout 4 did so maybe in the future
What suit are you wearing? I like it 😊
Only real ones settled in Eridani II. From the beginning, you know the end.
BETTER than Obrum 1 is Ka'zaal in Nirah system lvl 55 lots of flying XP and most beautiful strange planet Ive found my home❤

Interesting , Thank You .
All I come across are dead rocks that give me hypothermia and Lung damage but are so resource rich that I'm convinced to build an outpost
Anybody know a fix to the bug where the rocks respawn in built structures and why it happens?
i believe fermi 3 and its desert biome is also purple
also sparta 3 has a beautiful pink(and yellow) forest biome

Katydid great biomes great planetary view. Big red ringed gas giant 😮
This is a fantastic video, thank you!
No list is complete without Schrodinger III. The big Schrod has everything you could want.
Environments look about as interesting as my backyard.
I hate the lack of imagination in the design of the "alien flora"
Thank u. I've been looking for a video about location for looks for my main base so I can link the resources to it.
I hate how you can HEAR birds on some planets but can’t see them!!!
ZO also has an amazing forest with those New Atlantis-type flat-topped trees.
Anyone else having trouble finding those glowing plants on Oborum? I remember being here for a temple and liking seeing the gas giant nearby in the sky, but I'm back looking for those plants and just can't find them. Really want to make a for fun outpost. 😩

Muthrid 1

Which planet is the one 14 seconds in with the water?? That looks like my home..
What armor mod is that in the beginning?
I'd love to see an area with cliff side ocean views. Not sure if there are any out there...
6:41 - 7:48 error? Your footage is still of the previous planet and no b-roll of the star map or environment of this Hawaii planet you’re narrating
RIGHT lmao
Earth did look purple for a while, purple plants outnumbered green ones for a period. There are videos on it on here.
1:00 planet fitness finally go its own purple planet
Im honestly just looking for a nice place to build a beach house
Most of all these you’ll find on a NG+ journey
Real estate agent for starfield planets
Where there any "Charlies" in the trees on the Vietnam planet? lol
Nice list!
So far ive mainly built on the planets that the main cities are on. But rhese look cool. I might beed to branch out.
What about Codos and Sumati, they are beautiful
I have a base on Sumati lol
Make more starfield content!!
I guess the first planet has purple rain. And a soundtrack made by Prince... 😁😁😁
There is also a planet or moon in Delta Pavonis that is pretty purple
Do any have rivers? I know waterfalls are out of the question 😊
So this is for best looking planets right? All the resources seemed pretty similar

You can see the mushrooms on the first planet inside a cave
The most interesting thing is that you had broken legs condition (that kept aggravating from time to time) from start to finish of the video😁
I currently live on Hyla-II but Zeta Ophiuchi-I is even better for flora and fauna... omg
Now my question is, where did you get the fancy silver spacesuit from? it's definitely from Nexus mod?🤫
and thank you for your planet tour, I must to go Oborum-I right away 😊
Pretty sure it's a starborn armor
Star orb armor new game plus
I live in my spaceship. As long as there is a bed for me and Sarah to do the nasty I'm good to go.
What the deuce is going on with your ship?! :P ...you need to fire your ship engineer! :P
I'm wearing the UC reward armour. Is the ng+ armour actually worth wearing? It seemed alot worse because its all one set.
I want that space suit
Here is a mans, Man. Landing on fractured limb, gets warning fractured limb became worse. continues to hard land on fractured limb. Be man, dont heal that fractured limb
is the audio still not syncing with video while recording on xbox? Microsoft please... it's been a while..

Nesoii for me is bugged, the forest shows as ocean for some reason
GOLDEN 😮 BUTT 😂 niiiiice:)

Whats the Planet at 28 seconds ?
Do any of the planets have lakes or bodies of water like Paradiso?
Yes, though I'm still testing. If you land in a Swamp region, it has a chance to have lakes. Wet lands can have streams/rivers
Planets with trees are nice until new plants and trees start growing through your habs and such. It gets REALLY annoying..
