Another incredible video! It has been my lifelong dream to become a software engineer intern, and this was extremely insightful as to how that would work on a day to day basis 👏🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the kind words buddy! Glad I could provide a helpful insight into the world of software engineering. Good luck with following your dreams, keep it up. New videos about CS and cool stuff on the way 👀
I am first year computer science major at Kenya, and I wanted to express my gratitude for the inspiring videos you have provided. Your content has been instrumental in guiding me on the right track, and I look forward to the continued support from your upcoming videos. Thank you
Wow thanks for the kind words! Glad I could have a positive impact :)
Really cool to see, I did a placement year over at Sky but was based in their Brick Lane office. Also, I think that's my friend Nicolae at 3:07
Hey this is really cool. Great to see what these large companies offer for SWE grads. I had an offer from ARM but turned it down for somewhere else I imagine arm would have been similar to Sky I’m more regards. Thanks for the insight into Sky
Thanks, glad it was helpful!
I'm your biggest fan

Thanks! I might make a video on how to get SWE internships
@@zafarisI would love this type of video 🎉😊

Thanks man! Nah I decided to go somewhere else, will make a vid on it soon 👀
Hey! I've recently got an offer for that same role so your video was really helpful in getting familiar with how the experience is. Would you be down to connect and share some insights and tips for the internship? Would love to chat.
Sure, message me on discord @zafaris
@@zafaris I’ve added you! Haven’t been on discord in ages 😂
This is great
How long did it take for you to get a reply after their assessment centre?
2-3 weeks
awesome video man, sorry to ask but i really need to know! Im a 14 year old and im interested in being a software engineer. But I have 0 coding experience, so what programming language should I learn as my first programming language and what subjects should I focus more on? ( I'm homeschooled) oh and have a great day!
Hey, thanks for the kind comment! Firstly it’s amazing that you have this passion at such a young age, so keep it up. I would suggest focusing more on Maths, Physics and CS at school as these subjects are important for A levels.
I would suggest learning Python as your first language cause it’s simple yet powerful. After that it’s completely up to you based on your interests - dive into app dev, web dev, systems, AI.
Enjoy the process and try to make some cool projects. You got this :)
@@zafaris alr tysm man!
Are you using AirPods Pro 2nd gen??
yup :)
At what point should I start applying for internships? and also is it better to do an internship after year 2 or year 1?
Try to apply ASAP, as soon as the internship application for a company opens. From my knowledge for summer internships this is usually between August to January. Spam applications so you get better at the process. It’s up to you, if you want to have more experience early on and earn a bit of money then why not do one from Year 1, unless you have other plans lol. Also there’s no reason you can’t do one in both years :)
This is sick to see, do you know if its harder to get into a nice internship like this if my uni is a shitter ruseel group queen mary? What did you do to get an internship?
You should still be fine, just make sure your CV is good with work experience and programming projects. Sky doesn’t have a very difficult interview process, but for other companies you’ll have to grind Leetcode (grind 75 is good)
@@zafaris Yo I really appreciate the advice. Another question, is the internship fun?
@zacurrya9485 nw bro! I’d say it was pretty fun, the people are all friendly and there’s quite a few events that happen
Sir how much do you expect to earn after becoming a full time software engineer in uk? Plz reply. Thanks a lot.
Hey, search “average salary software engineer UK” on Google. That should give you a good idea
Hi bro, i got Fall 2024 offer from Loughborough university for MSc Artificial intelligence. i need to ask you that how is the job opportunity for International student in UK after Graduation, because job is a major factor iam looking for after my Masters..
Congrats bro! Do you have any other offers? There are definitely job opportunities for international students in the UK, as a lot of my friends are international and they’ve secured job offers. It is competitive so you need to prepare for interviews, leetcode, behavioural etc. Companies will also favour people who have experience, through internships and past jobs on their CV. Best of luck!
Thank you bruh, its helpful! btw iam waiting for University of Edinburg, University of Birmingham, Manchester and Southampton university Decision!@@zafaris
@harin2227 all the best brother!
