    Summary of five focus protocols @ 13:41:
    1. Clearly differentiate the focus blocks from non-focus blocks
    2. Focus less
    3. Use focus space
    4. Produce artifacts along the way
    5. Spend more time walking

    What a powerful approach to improving focus! Time-blocking, even for busy personal schedules, is key. Prioritizing tasks, despite the overwhelming amount of work, can help you stay on track. Deep work is essential, especially when meetings fill your day, and Slow Productivity principles can guide business owners.
    It’s all about doing less but with more meaningful impact. Like with the Habit10x Sense of Humor Improvement Program, focus on what truly matters, even when distractions pop up. Keep pushing forward!

    I agree with doing physical activity to access creativity. Years ago I was in a debating team and my prepared conclusion was not well. I was working in a physical role at that time and as I was working I came up with a better conclusion, just needed a few little tweaks. I am about to move to a different town, and during my morning walk of 20 min I am coming up with ideas to incorporate into the application letter. I have written them down, once again needing a few little tweaks. What I am finding is that the work that is getting me to the goal, than I break it up with some physical work--prepare lunch etc. I can come back to the goal work with fresh eyes/thoughts.

    The fact that Carl Newport can talk about productivity for hours and hours with camera focus on himself all the time with the similar facial expression across all videos showing he is really deep in this rabbit hole. His videos can put me into deep sleep with his slow speed voice. I know RUclips pays you better for long videos but it does help make the videos a bit more interesting by adding more guest speakers so you don’t have to talk very very slowly to extend the video time.

  • @shahidaziz489

    You cannot morally justify the killing of Palestinians and an illlegal occupation on intellectual grounds and the definition of a phrase. Tell that to the families that have lost loved ones in both Gaza and the West Bank. The right for freedom for Palestine represents the right for freedom for everyone who values justice.

    all due respect, but the moment you claim that the concept of settler colonialism is a modern phenomenon or that we (whoever “we” is) didn’t realize that empire was “bad” until WWII, you make it apparent that you don’t have enough context to pontificate on the subject (especially not for, apparently, the longest you’ve ever spoken about a single book??) to a large audience. i would recommend reading the work of indigenous peoples on the concept of settler colonialism before you make these kinds of sweeping judgements about an idea. this really calls other things you discuss into question. do you regularly make a habit of speaking this extensively about things you don’t really understand?

    • @wplants9793
      @wplants9793 19 дней назад +3

      I agree, especially because we know Cal is into reading history. From my armature interest in European history I do actually think the dynamic of colonialism can go back to the Roman Empire and the spread and domination of Christianity through the Holy Roman Empire. The Roman’s knew they were colonizers and used colonization as a way to create loyalty and allegiance of their generals and such. If a general conquered a land they were often rewarded with becoming the ruler of that land, and of course they were extracting resources, punishing locals for practicing their ways and essentially Romanizing them, which was all exacerbated by forced conversations to Christianity. The Vikings were not always trying to colonize (sometimes they did) and they probably did not know they were colonizers when they did. I don’t really know if the Anglo Saxons knew they were colonizers but they did colonize, it looks like maybe they didn’t know they were colonizers. The Roman’s might have been more aware due to their connection with the Middle East. Anyways, it’s worth a deeper look.

      These are western ethics being used to attack Europeans by people that never subscribed to them in the first place.These ideas shouldn’t be entertained as it’s simply a form of revenge.

      He is just one person with an opinion. I don’t let myself get distressed because someone I respect on one area doesn’t agree with me on every issue. Who cares? As an example, he mentioned last week that he was scheduling his kids flu shots. He is clearly not informed about vaccine injuries and risk, or he would never allow his children to be poisoned. I just rolled my eyes, he’s like most people who have not done any research outside of getting an MDs opinion. I still respect him for his advice on productivity and focus and ignore his ignorance on vaccines
