How did you prevent the speakers to blow up ? 700 watts is a lot, I understand that if you keep the master low the power delivered is lower than 700w but still ...
Thanks for the video Simon. Your pedals are the most organic I 've ever heard. I m trying the last couple of days to decide on which to buy and I just can't make a choice.
You can always tell a player who has played jazz for awhile, even their blues licks have more flavor because of their attention to phrasing. Great playing to really let your preamps shine! So few demos give much focus to a good clean sound part of the demo. TPS and these videos have me GASing right now.
Sounds unbelievable. I can't wait until your power amp comes out! Would love to see you do a video directly comparing some of these, like the Harlot, Jouster and Minstrel. But any video you make is going to be great :)
Hi Simon! Always a pleasure watching your videos :) Given that the MAIDEN is a proper PRE-AMP, one would assume it should be last in the chain, right before the power section. So, can you please expand a bit on what's the logic in using the MAIDEN pushing the PAGE, and not the other way around?
I believe this is because the Page DS is based on the overdrive channel of the Dumble ODS. On the original Dumble, the clean channel feeds the overdrive channel in this way (so the clean channel is always active, pushing the OD channel when engaged).
@@apeeg86 Yes, done a bit of research myself since posting this... and i understand it now, thank you! btw, my maiden D arrived today, and i'm very happy about it! Simon is KING!
Hey Simon. Sounding fantastic--I look to getting one of your preamp pedals. I am looking for a Solid State Power amp to run my pedal board and speaker cabinet. Do you have a top pick? This SDPS 700 or a Quilter or BluGuitar Amp1 or something else. ? Would love to hear your thoughts.
Hi Simon - I am in the identical situation as above. I have just discovered you and this video - so impressed. I'd like to ditch my heavy amp and have everything in the pedal board - probably a Maiden receiving signal from a Zendrive (I need the D'ble tone) into reverb and a small poweramp. Please advise. I am also looking at The Pedal Baby from Orange. Thanks, Mike
Sorry for the very late reply...You can use many different power amps with good results. I tend to use the effects return on a couple of my amps a lot. For a dedicated power amp I would have a look at Fryette tube power amps. The Seymour Duncan solid state ones are cool too, but my preference is always tubes...
If you need small for pedal board use, have a look at the Seymour Duncan PS200. I don't have one but looks really cool and if it sounds like the PS700 (that I have) then it could be a great small solution. Unfortunately there are not any really small tube power amps I am aware of, although you can also use the effects return of a small tube amp head.
@@mikeslavin4256hey guys, sorry to bring this thread back up, but im in a similar situation myself.....im shopping around for poweramps at the moment to pair with kingsley preamps, id love to go with a tube poweramp, but wouldn't be adverse to a reliable great sounding solid-state poweramp either ...did you guys have much success? Thanks

Hi Richard - if you click on the "Show more" in the description above, you will see the entire signal chain...(and Minstrel always goes before the preamp).
What a great guitar player you are!!! Hats off fantastic playing, probably the best guitar player who also builds pedals👍👍👍
Thank you very much (do I owe you money?)!
@@PPIMV hahahaha good one bro,but seriously i dig your playing, keep it flowing.
Great demo! I was waiting for a comparison between the Maiden D and BF versions!

It works really well with Powerstage.Articulate with great mids and lows.
The Maiden,Eq lift and Constable together,is just epic sounding!!!!And great feel as usual Simon!
i really love the articulation of the upper mids in the maiden D. might have to pull the trigger on one of these soon.

Wonderful Demo! Always love hearing your playing!
Thanks very much Kieran!
Awesome demos, Simon! I have a standard Page boost on it's way to me from the guys at TPS - can't wait to plug it in!
Hope you like it Jay!

@@AviCohen31 nice!
Great sounds & jedi playing as always Simon!
Great playing and note phrasing
Simon , which Neck PU are you using here ? I'm admiring its clarity, its glassy with that Maiden D .
I'm sold ! Come 2 Cyprus asap
It would have been a 57 Classic (Gibson), although I now have Sheptone Tributes in there instead. Cheers, Simon

Great pedals (I just got a MAIDEN) and also an excellent player! Really nice - Robben-ish!
I think a Maiden BF versus Maiden D is in order, so I can order. 😆
Awesome guitar tones! Would love to see the Juggler demoed as well;)
OK...will do that soon!
Any idea of how the pedals perform into the power stage 170?
I have only tried the Power Stage 700, but I understand they sound the same. The 170 is just less watts and is mono and smaller...
That's my rig. I have the Maiden D & BF versions into the 170 and it's killer. Crazy loud too!
HiThe Seymour Duncan Power Station seems to work very well with your preamps, would you agree?
Yes, it does indeed....
Could these pedals run, with good results, into a power amp/cab sim DI unit to FOH, like for example a two notes CAB M?
Yes, absolutely...many people use them just this way.
Can it sound this fantastic at (very) low volumes? TV level? Or do the speakers need to be pushed?
This was all at very reasonable volume levels - not pushing the speakers at all.
PPIMV Thank you.
What cable I need plug to output of PS 700?
Simon - not sure if this has been covered, but whats your signal chain there? is the minstrel after the maidens and page?
Hi Richard - if you click on the "Show more" in the description above, you will see the entire signal chain...(and Minstrel always goes before the preamp).
Spiffy new sneaks too!
Simon, what pickups on the 335???
It had '57 Classics in it but I changed them to Sheptone Tributes about a year ago (so the Sheptones are on this demo).
Man, what a player!! Yikes!
