F1 finally returns to Shanghai for the Chinese Grand Prix for the first time since 2019 and it is a sprint weekend as Max Verstappen and Red Bull absolutely dominated the race in Suzuka but in China with rain and a lack of running anything could happen. Can Ferrari, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc close the gap to Red Bull and potentially fight Sergio Perez. For Mercedes Lewis Hamilton has had a slow start to the year and George Russell has been the top Mercedes driver so far but there is absolutely still work to do for them. They are fighting Fernando Alonso in the Aston Martin and Mclaren's Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris.
What will happen this weekend and can Yuki Tsunoda once again get a one up on the mid field and teammate Daniel Ricciardo in the RB?

Leclerc is faster than Sainz in the races so once he's sorted his qualifying, he'll be back in front. never thought i'd hear myself that Leclerc needs to improve his qualifying. He'll defo be a threat to Perez with his race pace once his qualifying improves. equally, if this improves at the expense of his race pace then maybe not... he just needs to find the right balance. no stress, the season is long
It's definitely a change for Leclerc straight going with qualifying but yeah he needs to improve one lap performance right now
I absolutely agree with the predictions, but I do think that leclerc will finally beat carlos sainz in qualifying and race
If Leclerc nails qualifying then absolutely it will happen
good content as always and one of the few with no AI , no click bait titles
Yeah I'm not interested in AI 😀
Keep up the awesome work, I noticed the little addition to the background with Leclerc
Thanks man, I appreciate it. Glad you noticed Leclerc in the background 😉
KMAG is going to be an absolute menace on this track
😂😂 I can genuinely see it. Haas just leave him out let him get past everyone then just be a rolling roadblock
The track has been resurfaced so could be added chaos. Sprint weekend plus a new surface .. add just a wee bit of moisture and it could be an expensive weekend on carbon fibre.
Oh yeah definitely it could be. It's a possibility as well that it could be wet on one of the days so far
Good predictions. If Perez performs we might see a nice battle for 2nd or 3rd.
FP1 will be crucial. Also Alonso might be pumped up with his new contract and can surprise us all so I would put him in the top 5 for sure.
Yeah FP1 is going to be massive for the teams, it really is a venture into the unknown. New surface and different cars, pirelli haven't been able to sample the surface either so definitely up in the air
Tapping the bell notification was the best thing ever. I hope Leclerc finally gets on top of Sainz
It's possible, if he does get him in qualifying then it is possible
No diddy
Bottas may be in the mix if pit stops are ok
Yeah possibly but I believe Sauber are going to struggle with stops until Miami, I believe it is to do with some car parts that need changing
Charles will take poll. I preditct Max will win with Sergio in 2nd place , Charles 3rd, Carlos 4th and Lando 5th.
Yeah I hope he gets on top of things. If so absolutely pole is possible
@@MrPulseF1 Lando did an amazing job, I was most impressed by old man Alonso though, the guy is amazing.
@@kylezanika293 Alonso never disappoints. Also I agree with Norris, incredible job
With the revised format there’s a break in Parc Ferme between Sprint Race and Qualifying. So teams will be able to change their setup. This may help Perez in the race. Otherwise I think you’ve got it right.
Yeah you make a good point actually, at the time I was not really taking that into consideration
Don’t underestimate Perez in China. He’s in a better position this year compared to last year, wherein this year the car seems to suit him more than last year. Good example is Japanese circuit. Usually Japan is a stronghold for Max, and Perez was very close to him in quali
I think he has a better handle of the car this year. Plus he's one of those guys who may qualify lower but has better race pace so expect a lot of overtakes. With the slow speed corners, he may even win this thing.
Yeah you make a good point. Sometimes I admit I can be a little too harsh on Perez. Hopefully he can carry that momentum
Great work, I love these videos. I'm going to be very interested to see who comes out on top out of Checo, Charles and Carlos this weekend. I also think that with Aston Martin's straight-line speed, Fernando has a very good shot at a top 5 finish.
I wouldn't mind an Alonso top 5 😅 if he does that Stroll would have to score points... Surely
@@MrPulseF1 Somehow I think Stroll will be out in Q1 again...
I think your predictions are dead right tbh. Huge Leclerc fan but if he doesn't get on top of qualifying he will struggle. I do hate seeing him like this but I think he will be back on top of things soon enough. Maybe the sprint weekend would suit him because he usually adapts the best in these weekends out of anyone.
It will take time but absolutely Leclerc will get on top of it and come back to the front. Japan was a great performance by him
Hard weekend to predict because the teams have never raced here with these ground affect cars! And throw in the fact that there's only one practice session
Yeah absolutely it's going to be hard to predict, also there is a chance of rain I believe
With you in this race MAX
Leclerc will definitely beat carlos starting now,If he doesnt then tbh its all right since he's hasnt raced much on this track while sainz has
Leclerc just needs to have better one lap pace. The race pace is absolutely there but he didn't help himself in Australia and Japan
@@MrPulseF1 And he is working on that,He has 2 weeks to work on just getting good outlaps...Do you think it won't happen?
Hoping Williams can catch a break and Alex can get some good luck this weekend 😊
Hopefully but I think Williams are very much on the back foot this weekend with two damaged chassis and no spares
What about Logan? He could use some luck too ❤
@@Grim_Racing Williams in general are due some luck. I can't see it coming in China though. They're definitely on the back foot, it's silly they don't have a spare chassis 🙃
Only one FP. That’s gonna be pretty challenging
Yep I fully agree with that
I feel like you aren’t taking into account car characteristics even though as a package McLaren is 3rd fastest , on a circuit like China (long straights and a lot of slow speed corners) they should be realistically 5th fastest , with Mercedes 3rd and AM 4th
You know what, you might be right with that 😀
And now Sainz has a new contract too 😳
Is that official?
The anticipation is building up for the Chinese weekend that will be severely compromised by the pointless, very expensive 'Sprint Race' side show, designed to compromise all car's race day setup.
Why making sure that, 'the best of the best' are not performing their very best, is considered entertainment defies logic. hmm
Yeah sprint still sucks 🙃
Although china is demanding on the tires, haven't they resurfaced the track?
True, but new surface doesn't mean it will not be demanding on tyres. For now all we have to go off is previous data ☺️
I think yes RB will be best of the midfield but I don’t think it will be Yuki I think DR strikes back in China
There is a chance you are right what I didn't take into consideration is Yuki has never raced at this circuit
1- Verstappen
2- Perez
3- Leclerc
4- Sainz
5- Hamilton
Yeah possibly true. Hamilton and Alonso's experience will help this weekend I imagine
I think P1 Mazepin P2 Latifi P3 Mick Shumacher
The cursed grand Prix
Nononono ... P3 Nyck Debris
I think you're quite accurate tbh. My predictions for the top 10:
1. VER
2. PER
3. SAI
4. LEC
5. NOR
6. HAM
7. PIA
8. RUS
9. ALO
10. TSU
I could see McLaren sacrificing some downforce for a better straightline speed setup- which might give the others a benefit in qualifying, but McLaren being able to capitalise on the race against Merc and Aston. Let's also not forget that due to the sprint system there will also be a wildcard of which teams can find a nice setup in the first place. Therefore I think whilst the track should suit Ferrari more, their gap to RedBull will depend a little bit on what they're able to do with the first practice session.
Oh yeah it's all about who can start the weekend the strongest this weekend due to sprint.
Love your top 10 too
Nice prediction mate. I predict that at least one driver will crash in the sprint and will mis the race qualifying..
Alonso gets a 20 second penalty for finishing ahead of Mercedes and a one race suspension for not signing with them.
That race ban for normal racing is coming 😂
Three stop ?
Possible I think it could happen if we get some wet running as that would open up the possibility of extra fresh sets of dry tyres
Lets be honest. Max is the greatest of all time so absolutely will win again
He very much could be looking good
I want to agree with your top 5 but I am going to swap Norris for Piastri, love the content as always
Interesting, not really sure I agree with that, Piastri is just lacking some race pace
This new sprint format makes no sence at all
I think it is one last ditch effort for sprint. It's just not a format that works for F1 sadly. The only way it could work is if they do 2 practice sessions, have qualifying and then reverse the top 10 or something for the sprint from qualifying. I know that would make it gimmicky then but let's be honest. Sprint as a concept is nothing more than a gimmick. The whole thing sucks
Predictions (What i hope):
P1: Sainz P2: Max P3: LeClerc P4: Lando P5: Hamilton
That would be a fun result. I wouldn't mind that 😀
sorry not happening you are underestimating leclerc i am 100% confident he will outclass sainz in this race
@@mo215300 we’ll see i don’t underestimate LeClerc i just think Sainz is flying this season. Both Excellent drivers top 5 on the grid in my opinion. I’m a bigger fan of Carlos tbh but no hate and all respect to Charles
@@redab1998 yes but charles will outperform sainz this weekend he is not going to sit still and let sainz roll over him
Mercedes are a joke and an embarrassment, at least Ferrari will be better for Lewis
I wouldn't say an embarrassment but they have certainly fallen back
I'd love to see Carlos outperform shawl every race and if window licker stroll comes in above Pewis it will be a great weekend
sorry but charles is going to come out on top starting from coming race
Haha Sainz does have a point to prove and he is definitely proving it so far
What happened to Charles Leclerc? Demoted to being Sir Lewis' shoeshiner for the foreseeable future is what happened. Imagine his mood... in January he signed a new 4-year contract, reportedly granting him "team leader status", and a week or two later the bigbossman comes along, trashing all his hopes and expectations.
Make no mistake, regardless how many million/billions Elkann has offered Hamilton, there is no way he'd have signed contract that does not manifest his undisputed #1 status in the team.
Yeah that is potentially true, I have no idea what Ferraris plan is next year with Lewis and Leclerc
@@MrPulseF1 Neither has the Ferrari garage... it was a "fait accompli" by Mr Elkann. He has made the bed on which Ferrari will mow have to lie.
It's become joke now no other car are able to compete with Red Bull car it is only car not driver Telent.
Yeah. Not to discredit max because it's obvious how talented he is even from the previous era where he would be the only one who could fight Mercedes but yeah they are so far ahead right now it's depressing
@@MrPulseF1 : Was it depressing when it was Hamilton dominating?
@@theGoogol not as depressing because Hamilton was not as good as Max so at least we got a fight from time to time 😅
@@MrPulseF1 : Nah, you misread the OP : "it is only car not driver tElent".
