  • Formula 1 returns to Shanghai after a 5-year hiatus for the Chinese Grand Prix. Following a dominant 1-2 in Japan, Red Bull and Max Verstappen will be hoping to continue their form in China. Additionally, this weekend marks the first of the 6 sprint races held this season, limiting the teams to just one practice session before the Sprint shootout. This year also marks the first time that a Chinese driver will compete in his home race, with Sauber’s Zhou Guanyu making his hometown debut in a historic moment for fans. Steph Wentworth is joined by Alex Kalinauckas & Haydn Cobb as they preview the upcoming Chinese Grand Prix.

    While on the subject of tires why can't they just pick three compounds and race just those three compounds throughout the year. I mean they have the option to come in and pit before the tire explodes.

    • @mrgalaxy396
      @mrgalaxy396 Месяц назад +3

      Because different tracks have different tyre needs based on the configuration, asphalt, ambient factors etc.
      The soft in Monaco wouldn't last more than a lap or two in Suzuka before dramatically losing pace and only a few laps away from an unexpected tyre failure. We've seen in Baku 2021 how dangerous tyre failures can be.

      Wouldn't say zero chance. China is a huge market for Audi & they won't be competitive in the early years anyway so 1 average driver who still has 3/4 years worth of experience isn't too bad, especially if alongside a bigger/better name. He's had a tough start but wasn't that far of Bottas last year, especially if you consider Bottas often beat lewis in races & was amazing in quali

    • @SirZuri
      @SirZuri Месяц назад +1

      @Formula1st & @juhom6019 Well of course there are races but unforseeable events happen during those which means you rarely can compare the proformance of the two drivers. Even without taking diffrent strategies into account. For example this year Sauber had pit issues in 3/4 races and a DNF for Zhou in Japan. So you cannot make any statements about how the drivers compare against each other in the race trim. In qualy you mostly have the same conditions for everybody which means you can do exactly that. It's not that hard to understand...

      @@SirZuri "Even without taking diffrent strategies into account" mmm how about if Bottas picks a set up that is stronger in quali and Zhou goes with one that is stronger in the race.... Or how about what if Bottas is really fast in one lap pace but very inconsistent in a race trim. "unforseeable events happen in a race", you know what they happen in quali as well! Pirelli tyres can be inconsistent, you can get blocked during your lap, condiditons like rain and wind can change. And all that to just say you think a team would rather hire a great qualifier that scores less points or a driver that delivers in races

    In order to maintain good mental and physical health, firstly our family, and the entire society, it is necessary that we, as teenagers, young people and responsible adults, and this can also include many children, who demonstrate a level of responsibility that would be the envy of many people, let us work hard, suffering fatigue and affronts, with the direction of God, like Noah, in the construction of the first ship to exist, to overcome the attacks that we are subjected to at all times by a nature that was contaminated with the fall of our parents, Adam and Eve. Beings created by God, to be part of his family in heaven, today attack us, our children and our descendants, so we cannot remain in regret, but with joy we work even harder hard, knowing that our work in the Lord is not in vain. Woe to those who have no respect for the creatures into whom God breathed his spirit of life.
