i just bought one about three weeks ago and the audio would cut off and also when editing i noticed on my headphones only the right side was working. leftside audio was cut off.

@@HoopDiamonds isolate the audio cable from the mic to the transmitter, the entire cable can pick up sound. A few other reviews I have read have all mentioned to place the cord inside of clothing and loosely tack a loop below the mic. If you have ever seen news reporters with professional transmitters on their back this makes sense, they are loops everywhere. The drag on the cord pulling away from the mic can pick up ruffles and other noises as it moves and shifts. Loosely taking a loop under clothing will allow that tension to be released, less movement of the cable between the mic and the transmitters. Cant say this will solve your problem but might be worth trying.
I have the Go Mic mobile and I always get a hiss sound that I can always lower in post production but I notice that your audio is flawless.. Is there any troubleshooting you konw I can try out?

I purchased this kit with the lav and also got a handheld. Few thoughts:
- the antenna on the transmitter makes me nervous...looks and feels cheap, and if it breaks, you can't replace it.
- The legs on the grip that affixes the receiver to a phone do not come off. So if you use either the popular Beastgrip or the Iographer, you have to put the receiver on top. It works but it isn't elegant. Removable grips would be a great thing for version 2.
- The most concerning thing, and it is possible that it is user error bc I am just starting to play with it, is that I get some very audible constant stream of clicks. Playing with gain has not helped. It was a little better when I made it stereo bc I was onlu using one input. So either I am doing something wrong or I have a defective unit.
My experience is colored a bit because of those added clicks. I suspect I will be able to get that fixed. My overall thought is I wouldn't buy it again if I only ever needed to record one channel. The real game-changer aspect is the two-channel inputs ability in that form factor. If you can get that to work, that would be an amazing benefit. If you only need to capture one channel, I would be a bit reluctant. But perhaps my perspective will change.
I do agree with Juan that more competition in this space would be a big win for users. Thanks for the review.
I haven't had any issues with clicks, but I did mention some issues with drop outs. Relying on these like pro gear, you totally need to keep ears on the output.
I'm not sure what you mean by the "legs". I was able to remove the rubber padded clamps to set up the GMM on a hotshoe. Is that what you were talking about?
Can this system use 3 or more wireless microphones such as 1 lavalier and 2 handhelds? I thought the 2 channels on the receiver means only 2 mics can be used at the same time? Can more than 2 wireless mics be used simultaneously? I assume if 3 mics are used at the same time, all 3 mics will be fighting for 2 channels, creating potential collisions when the sound would get dropped intermittently?
Using the usb connector to capture audio to my PC. The sound is horrible. Would the mic input be a better idea?

What are the chances of piggybacking this on a phone gimbal? Are we talking Velcro for that? I'm sure a small camera gimbal would work perfectly with the 1/4" thread mount.

Does this allow you to record video at the same time or is their another app you need to use for audio? Also will the Bluetooth connection to my gimbal interfere with the 2.4Ghz connection of the Samson? I have external audio equipment but would love to use this if it works with my mobile iPhone/gimbal setup.

I really like mine, but for mainstream pro use, you do have to be careful if you think the wedding will be in a place with a lot of wireless interference.

That's a very easy question to ask which is really complicated to answer. Like me asking a photographer "what's a good camera for sports" . Depends a lot on where you're recording. If you're unsure, I'd recommend hiring a local recording pro for some consulting time, especially if this is a paid gig for you.

How can you configure two xpd1 simultaneously?
Was pretty pumped for this mic set up but came to find out that it does not work with Samsung Note 9 or Galaxy S10 unfortunately and had to return it. Hoping for an option for more androids in the near future.

Did you try it in a complex environment. I mean with a lot of other connected devices. At the begininng of the iPhone, I bought a cheap Sony transmitter/receiver. The first time I used it with other journalists I got a lot of interferences. So I invested in a more expensive and more professionnal device: Sennheiser. Would you say that this Samson Go Mobile solution would work in a complex environment?

Hey Mr. Bagnell, thanks for sharing this video with us. It makes me very optimistic for the future of mobile video production without consumers spending a lot for gear. Just a question though (and it may sound kinda stupid asking this since I'm kinda clueless about audio, pardon the question), but wouldn't connecting a Bluetooth microphone to the phone be a lot easier than sticking this thing to the back of the phone? It would mean less things to worry about forgetting and charging...
Bluetooth would be easier for a single mic, but i haven't seen any good Bluetooth options for multiple mics, the signal would likely be more compressed reducing quality, and BT delivers poorer range and signal consistency in my experience.
Okay, maybe Bluetooth 5.0 may help with the issues that you've mentioned? (Still hopeful for the future haha) And how many transmitters can this receiver connect to? If so, this may be very good for large interview groups...
I don't know that BT5 will offer up the resources we would need for production grade work. SO far it seems to only be an evolutionary improvement over BT4, and we'd still probably have issues with signal, dropouts. As for this receiver's specifications check out 1:29.
JuanBagnell Whoops, may have missed that spec haha. Thanks. Guess Bluetooth needs a lot of improvements to be competitive in this space. May consider getting this for my setup in the near future. 😄
BT wasn't built around this kind of use. Kinda hard to transition it into a pro audio connection. Kinda like ISDN. You would never use an ISDN internet connection today, but it still manages to be the nest way to record audio remotely for pro studios. We haven't found a significantly better internet option for syncing and recording. Purpose built will always beat "all rounder" tech when you need to get your work done.

You shouldn't. It's one of the iPhone perks, the camera SHOULD swap over to an input on the Lightning connector. I can't PROMISE that will always be the case, but it worked well for me on my XS.

I could not get the stock videocamera app to use the SGMM as its audio input. Tried it on iPhone 11, iPhone 6s, (both Lightning) iPad Pro 2018 (USB-C) and they all defaulted to the internal mic. :(

Using my lavalier pack with my Nikon DSLR and I need help getting audio into both the left and right channels. Currently only getting audio through the left channel. Any Advice?
Not sure. Might be the cable? Have you used 4 pin cables on the nikon before? Also, I'm assuming you've already set the receiver to "mix" not "2ch" .

Blown away from the performance of this setup. How did that lav mic filter out the wind and the birds?!?
Proximity. When the mic is on the body, and the body can block some wind, you get a natural break.
Can I connect 2 hand held interview type microphone to the same audio?
Yup. You can connect two lavs or two handheld to one receiver.
I'm currently looking for some mobile device to record my wife's concerts. anyone knows how good the mics are for singing recording ??
Wouldn't be my top pick. The clarity might be ok, but if it's in an area with other wireless devices, it might suffer from interference and drop outs.

Great product & great review, I was going to buy, but I hate Mini-USB, I wish they have Micro-USB or USB-C.
I'd definitely prefer USB-C, but it's something about audio gear. Audio gear is VERY slow to evolve.

Depends on the source. No microphone is magic at eliminating background noise.

Again, it depends on how the music is played and how far away it is from the microphone. Lavs work based on proximity. They're attached to you, so YOU sound super close, and the environment noise is farther away. But if an audio source is also PRETTY close , the mic will still pick it up.

Yes, it does. Just asking because of the whole TRS and TRRS jack issues.
Works perfectly with iPhone 7 but not with Samsung Galaxy S8. Installed android camera apps that allow external usb audio as recommended by Samson but audio is terrible - loud fluttering noise. Any suggestions? Can you provide the settings on the GMM for android use? Samson tech support is weak! Thx

I used it with the headphone jack on my V30 and that was surprisingly good for field audio. How's the mic input on the Galaxy?

No audio using the headphone jack on GS8 to the GMM with the 3.5mm cable. I got fluttering audio using the usb micro to usb C cable which is the "recommended" method according to Samson. Did you have to change any "external" mic settings on your V30?
Well the nice thing about the V30 is it had a manual toggle for audio input (but no USB audio support). But when I've used Samsung in the past, it should automatically record audio off a headset when connected...

Some pros and cons for sure. I like how Samson made this system more modular, but the new Wireless GO 2 are SOLID competitors.

Bought a pair of handheld Samson Go- Verdict: Pros: Very low noise floor. Cons: Very bad audio dropout.

This unit is garbage!!..it's drops pops and buzzes unless your no more than 10 to 15ft away👎
