I'm 73. Accidently smashed the outside side of my ankle above the heel with a hammer 40 years ago which led to ankle arthritis, and for the last ten years excrutiating lateral foot pain and Tailor's Bunion. TBH, these days I can hardly walk! But I never give up looking for a solution, and recently have found good pain relief by wearing a cheap, clear adhesive gel pad stuck to my forefoot directly under the bunion. It's actually a pronation/suppination gel pad meant for your heel (i.e. one side is elevated) but I wear it reversed, on my forefoot, so that the bunion is ELEVATED and this has greatly reduced the lateral foot pain which has been the most crippling aspect, above and beyond the ankle arthritis itself. I still limp stiffly, I still have a painful tailor's bunion, I still get weary, but the daily agony of lateral foot pain is hugely improved and as a consequence so has my stamina, my ability to work in my garden and thus my overall quality of life. I hope this comment may help someone else.

This would never help my bunion. Only way is to have it removed.

I don't have this particular issue and I thought bunions were on the side of your big toe? Is a hammer toe and bunion (big toe bunion) related?

It's normal Bunion on big toe, this is Tailor's Bunion usually on your little toe
