2024 Polaris SnowCheck \\ Khaos 9R Insane Price

- In this video I build a 2024 Polaris Khaos 9R and decide whether or not I will SnowCheck one. I also go through the price increases that Polaris has put on their sleds since the Matryx RMK was introduced in 2022.
I’m now seriously considering SnowChecking a Boost!
Not impressed, honestly hope they see a lot less sales
Maybe this will help dealers sell sleds that they still have on the floor?
G5 FreeRide Turbo 46 or 54 better pwr plant/Clutches and less money than a 9R
I think they might’ve messed up on the pricing with that 9R and the premium side panels. It’s gotta be a mistake.
Bought a brand new 2010 Dragon 163 $12,000- bought a brand new 2016 Axys 163 $13,500. Prices are out of control on everything.
It’s tough to justify spending so much on a sled when just a few years ago we could get them for so much less!
Does it have the 12 place plug holder standard now for those 3 day weekends?
Let’s check the accessories catalog…
I built a 9r with a 155” series 9 track and the 7s display. Had a good laugh then closed the browser window.
I actually did the same yesterday as well 😂
Logging 500 miles last year you’re looking at around $50 per mile or between a thousand and two thousand dollars per ride.
Their going to over price themselves out of business if this keeps up.
At least our used sleds are keeping decent value to help with the upgrade cost.
Prices are insane!! My 2022 matryx slash snowchecked was $18k.
The 850 is a great sled. Not a bad price either👍
I'll put that extra cash into my 22 850... can build a really sweet motor for that kind of cash...
Same!
@JasonCaville what part of Canada you guys from?
@@fcscooter I live in Calgary and ride in Southeast BC. Fernie, Sparwood and Elkford, where I grew up.
You?
@@JasonCaville nice. I live in Washington state and ride the cascade mountains for the most part
I have no doubt these new sleds are awesome and better then my used 21 khaos for 13500, but almost 2x the price better?, I doubt it. Just maintain it, set it up for you and just ride!
You got it 👍
Great idea. My 2019 Indy XC now builds out at $17500.00. I picked up a non current in 2020 for $11400.00. That is absolutely insane the price increases. How are people even thinking about getting into this now?
@@jeffotoole4509 Not sure but I'm back on the Polaris sled builder site again...
@@JasonCaville I am in Canada.
23 9R 155, bumpers, can, cover. $25K full price OTD. It's worth it for me cause it leveled up my skills big time. If money's an issue, find a 23 the dealer is trying to move off the floor next fall or get a 22 850 with lo miles. You want to save money, buy a 2 year old 4wd pickup for $25K instead of dropping 80 grand on a new one that can tow a 4 horse trailer. You don't have horses. You have a snowmobile.
Great comment 😄
I can buy an entire sled (mind you an older one) for damn near the price of just the 7s screen upgrade.
Buy that sled and put a 7S on it!
I bought a 2019 Indy XC 129 full side panel color and electric start in 2020. Total cost 11.400.00 plus tax. Canadian. Prices are insane.
Used to be able to get a deal by going for a floor model, one to two seasons old. See if we can find a ‘23 9R….
With ya.. I'm keeping mine another year as well. For the price difference I can add ALOT of cool upgrades and wrap it and have a "new" sled for next year
I’ve been thinking about doing a wrap too. Deviant Ink? Arctic FX?
Speaking of “wrapping it”….. Failing to do so is the number 1 reason men can’t afford new sleds. 😉
@@EOTG_AK 😂
The ONLY good color - other than the all black - is that Orange. The rest of them is just disgusting. I'd still do a 165 Khaos with the series 8 track though. Has anyone heard if they're (hopefully)ditching the P22 clutch?
Check out the specs towards the end of my next video: ruclips.net/video/SyWtn3mO_JU/видео.html
I Snowchecked an 850 Pro RMK for my wife and it was $23,400 😳 That includes upgraded shocks, 7S, skid plate, Sentry bumper, large tunnel bag, and shovel jacket, but insane nonetheless.
Will be a great sled for her! Don’t let my wife find out about this! Lol
@@JasonCaville It will be a nice upgrade from her 2018 800 SKS 155. I currently have 7S and now so will she. I figured the track your buddy feature would add a nice layer of safety since we mostly ride just the two of us in the BC backcountry. I’ve been letting her ride my Boost Pro 165, but fear I might never get it back lol. Ha ha yeah when wives discover sledding it can be costly 😂
@@Fatonzzz The Buddy Tracking is worth the cost of the 7S. I wish all our riding buddies had it
Sheesh this is getting ridiculous, my 2022 axys khaos 850 165 was $17000 all in from the dealer. Glad I went axys only had the fuel line recall
Awesome sled
Insane prices🤬
Pretty sad
Voting booth inflation. Put it in perspective though: these prices went up LESS than your food and utilities did.
😢
I was all set to snow check this season but as much as I hate to say it. My better judgement took over when I seen the price to build a 9R Khaos. The amount of times I got out this season so far just couldn’t justify buying a new $30k sled. Think I’ll keep my 2020 Axys Khaos 800 for another season or look for a good deal on a 2023 leftover.
You had more will power than I did!
It’s about 1300 more for a 24 xcr over my 23 xcr unless I did the all black then it would be 700 more, if o would have seen the 17 some odd thousand last year when I snowcheck I wouldn’t have bought it, I was desperately trying to stay in the 16s , i forwent a longer track and bigger lug track to stay away from the 17 number, I’m actually happy Polaris didn’t come out with something that I thought was a must have, it allowed me to keep my money in my pocket, I only have 400 miles on the one I have and haven’t found it’s true potential yet , I would be a shame to get rid of the sled I dreamed about for over a year, I just want to thank Polaris for keeping it bland this year.
Must be some expensive paint they’re using
Turning into a rich person's sport.
Not cheap!
$1400 for a 7s... compare that to other electronics you buy. 7s is a must pass IMO.
The buddy tracking is so useful in the backcountry. And the GPS for exploring. Game changer
@@JasonCaville yeah if everyone else has it. so costs 2800 so two can keep an eye on each other. i get the perks. game changer? term is looser than my options at the whore house at this point.
@@mikeh4053 😂it helps me find my way back into areas that I stumbled upon in the past and would likely take a worse route back into. Follow your gps tracks back in.
@@JasonCaville The Polaris ride app is free and does both those things. $1,300 for it to be attached to the sled is a bit steep.
@@MrWookie1981 does it work if you don’t have cell service?
Gotta secure that $1500 delivery guarantee somehow
I got my 22 163 Boost for 20k OTD
Watch it show up in October
Just a few things you may try talking to Matt at FreeRider he may have A 900 R for sale. I would just buy a Wrap. Sir for you older Shed put some Carbon Fiber Rails and a Lighter Can to May it very Light like 20 lbs. less .
I’d want something new with warranty. But totally, add some goodies to my current sled. Wrap. Maybe a pipe and lighter clutch cover too.
@@JasonCaville you don’t like the Carbon Fiber Rails there light weight and strong. Understand he Warranty but it still has China parts. Just wish these CEO were like the older ones that like America made
@@gregoryh4601 never tried the carbon rails but would if I bent my current ones
@@JasonCaville Jason take Care and Be Safe reach out to Matt about his Poo shed.
Thanks, you too 👍
I like the colour you would of chose
Looks awesome
30 grand Canadian for us ip here😢
Might need to wait for a deal in the late spring/summer this year or next year.
@@JasonCaville yeah I have a xm rn and I love it. Ski doo has always been my favourite but might need to try a maytrx
@@colefantham6743 The Khaos is pretty fun!
@@JasonCaville you should get out on a gen 5 they are wild
Hopefully I can next time we ride in Elkford 👍
I don't think Polaris would hire you for a Sales position. 😆
Not likely, but people need some unbiased feedback right?
Still cheaper then ski doo haha
I need a second income to afford this expensive habit
24 turbo doo, 165 expert package $21,389.00. Don't know what you're talking about.
