Great video as usual Steve. My first visit to Malta was in 1979 and I stayed at the Melleiha Bay Hotel and have some lovely happy memories of the hotel.

Our family holidays were always at the Mellieha Bay Hotel back in the 70s, great rooms, fantastic food and friendly staff. Back then there was nothing else around the bay until a fish restaurant called Tunny Net on the way up to the town. I think that beach bar next to the hotel was originally called Twannies, or maybe that was the owners name when it first opened around 1980.
Yes sad to see it go , wish you all the best May the joy the season extend into the new year.
First place i ever stayed back when i was a kid with my Grand parents
It was a shame to see it go.....now lets wait to see what replacement is...already there are problems at the planning stage

This shows the magic of Malta and it is somewhere where you can just relax and un-wind and sea so clear you see the fish, Heaven.

Our first stay in Malta was Melliha but over in the Riu Seabank. Loved it there but highlights the contrast with somewhere like Spain, there would be about 100 hotels around that bay in Spain but it looks like there's about 10 there. We used to go to the little kiosk in the middle of the beach for a pint and still go there for a half day out when staying around Qawra/Bugibba so I'm glad you stopped there.
Hopefully they keep that are clear, we have so very little unbuilt areas

Wow , I really enjoyed this video Steve! So beautiful! Oh that ftira...you made my mouth water, Ftira is one of my favorites! As well as imqarret and puddina. That first place you went to seem like they didnt want to be bothered with making the ftira so they ignored you, a bit rude I think! Anyway you ended up with a very nice one in the end. Take care.
I dont mess around now if they cant handle people when its empty not sure how they manage in summer, but finally found a nice place

Evening Steve. Impressive car park, certainly needed on summer weekends. Beach looked well cared for, as always and a cracking ftira and Cisk for lunch. Very nice indeed.

Another amazing video!!! Thanks steve. Ftira is always a good choice. Lager is good because is cisk!!!! I wish i was there. Unfortunately i am not far but connecting flights from sardinia are very bad and get often cancelled. Keep on showing my wonderful love malta.

Many things are changed some into something good some into something bad. But my love for the places you show everytime is and will be always the same.

It was so nice to be back on the beach Steve. Haven't had that Ghadira sand between my toes for a long time. It was a shame you ended the video just before my friends place. The San Remo bar. I'm sure Mario and Nicky would have made you welcome. Just next to their place was a tunnel that goes under the road and it leads to the Danish Village. They used to have, many years ago, a Chinese Restaurant there and you could sit and have your meal looking over that beautiful bay. Lovely video Steve, thank you. 🍷🍷

@@EnglishmaninMalta Maybe Steve, it's been a while. That lady I know at St Venera used to own San Remo with her family and sold it to Mario and Nicky. They used to run the boats off the beach. Tap Mario up, he might drop you off on St. Pauls Island. Say to Nicky about us getting drunk on red wine and she ended up in hospital. Take care.
Sad sight, but still enjoy the bay. Better this time of year😁 had we been here would have bought you a beer😉 but we were in Mosta.

I went over 🇲🇹 a few times in "October" when living in UK 🇬🇧 - loved it every time, nice weather, quiet beaches & tourist areas. Also, one can have a "Ftira & Lager" in peace. Steve my friend, if you want "to change", please be careful don't do it in public as you might get arrested 😂 🤣 😂. THANKS for the lovely walk 🚶🌊 🏖 ☀ 🎥 👏.

Hey Steve, this is our favorite beach. Especially great with kids. We have always stayed at the Ramla Bay Resort, unfortunately this is currently not possible to book in Germany. We have now booked the Solana Spa so that we can be at our booth. October-November is the best time in Malta for us. Weather is unpredictable but still wonderful. 13 more days then we'll be back. best regards from Berlin🤠🥳

Before covid it was going to be replaced with a 5 star deluxe, but no idea now !
Nice little wander around Mellieha Steve 🌊 and what a beautiful day ☀️ Still think it’s a shame they closed the hotel. Hope they don’t replace it with some monstrosity like the ones popping up in St Julian’s. We like that kiosk too Steve, always good for a Cisk and a ftira 🍺🥙 the beach is also nice and quiet this time of the year 🏖 I have been contemplating a last minute break myself next week but the prices are ridiculous 😣 I notice RUclips are adding more and more adverts to your videos Steve, think I had 7 this time! 🙈

@@EnglishmaninMalta thank you we’re thinking of staying in one of the hotels, Solana Hotel and spa We’re just not sure if it’s going to be too quiet of the area. As we want to still go to bars but not necessarily nightclubs and we also I want to rent a boat. Any advice would be appreciated.
