my most nostalgic era. PS2 was everything to me. I was 8 years old when this came out. a few years later I got into punk and saw some of the older kids wearing gj t-shirts. the ninja shirt. that’s my first memory of the band. wish I could get one now but it’s forever sold out on their site.
be thankful to have discovered it now instead of never finding it. I’m always aware of there being so much music out there that I would love and the fact that so much of it I will never get to hear. always searching for something new.
I wondered 20 years ago why people weren't giving Glassjaw the Kudos of Deftones and Korn. i thought Glassjaw were technically way better on every level.
It disappoints me that, this, my honest favourite song of all time, has THIS as a video. Glassjaw should have been so much more than they were and Roadrunner should have invested so much more in them.
EYEWTKAS got me through a tough tough break up years back. I would feel like falling apart at work and then go out to my vehicle on my lunch break to listen to Glassjaw. It got me through the rest of the shift. There will never be a band more important to me than Glassjaw. They probably have no clue how many lives they have changed or improved just by picking up their instruments and playing some shitty music for everybody. By shitty music, I mean what alot of people perceive them as, not what I perceive them as.
The band is amazing, but you also have to give credit to Robinson, who contributed with an incredibly fresh, great production. He is probably one of the best rock/metal producers ever.
@@ghiblinerd6196 lol I think devil is a bit harsh. I remember hearing he (Robinson) threw a flower pot or something to that effect at the drummer they had during this album bc he wanted more emotion or something HAHAHAHA
at the time this album dropped, I was watching The Real World: New Orleans and obsessed with Melissa - as also obsessed with Beck and his guitar tone.... 22 years later, I come to find that they've been married for 17 years and have 2 children. lmao!! that's a crazy coincidence. beautiful family, beck's a blessed man.
Still a fucking beast song after all these years holy fuck. Remember hearing Glassjaw for the first time going back like I dunno 10 years or whatever, good stuff.
Fucking still awesome all these years later. Played a Show with these dudes in Ashbury Park Pier at a festival and they were super nice dudes back in 2000, I'm sure they still are! 💚
I'm lucky to have been in my late teens early 20s in the 1990s living in Long Island. Vision of Disorder, Glassjaw, Mind Over Matter and traveling to NYC to see H20, Yuppicide, Bouncing Souls, Madball, Agnostic Front, Farenheit 451, Crown of Thorns, Sick of it All, and my favorite of all times Burn.
Nearly saw these live...cancelled due to illness...such a shame. Listening to this again has made me realise how good their original bassist was. I know nothing about bass guitar but the way he plays it sounds so unique...very chunky and noticeable...I like it a lot.
+jdgonzo1982 yeah. If I remember correctly Daryl suffers from Crones Disease or something like that....but we're talking like 15 years ago when i heard that so I could totally be wrong.
How is it that I've never heard of this band before 0.0 Seriously, I love their sound. To me, it's a good combination of the old deftones style with a more modern day metalcore appeal... defiantly checking them out,
I can’t believe I never heard this until recently… Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence didn’t get NEARLY as much attention in the nu metal history books as it should have
@@ayeb0ss I know it's classified as post-hardcore but I hear a lot of similarities to bands like Deftones and Limp Bizkit - genre notwithstanding, this song slaps

My God. The memories. The intensity. This entire album front to back is pure gold. Fuck I'm old. This came out in 2000.
Ahead of it's time imo
@@kingkrysen absolutely. They were pioneers of hardcore before it was cool or trendy

🤘cherish every breath
Loved this band, so underrated.
That bass tone is just insane
I think its just kinda neat
It’s perfect, honestly. It has such a presence listening to it on a nice stereo.
Just like a chainsaw! Nice!
thanks i mixed it myself
Probably just running through a sansamp too.
This is the legendary post hardcore sound modern "hardcore" bands would only dream of achieving...
Letlive's sound is close to reproduce that great sound ;)
Only on Fake History. Even then it's not as good, but still a great post-hardcore sound.
Same thought.
bloodstainDew Hell yeah. It's also their own style as well.
bloodstainDew this is true
This is the first Glassjaw song I ever heard. I had a roadrunner record mixtape album and this was on it.
How did this get past me for 25 year's?? This is a masterpiece

@@DextraVisual So much jazz influence in gj, i have to agree.

The Ginger Snaps soundtrack is lit asf love that film and GJ 🤟💯🔥🥁🎸 EYEWTKAS still bangs
I would kill for Daryl’s orange camo shirt. Used to have this album on my iPod in high school lol still blasting it years later
Romantically dark yet heavy. 1000 likes to this so song.
Glassjaws new album is AMAZINGGG. But, I'll never get tired of their earlier works. Reminds me of high school.
this songs atmosphere/tone is so ridiculous. love it
March 2024 and this is so much heavier and rawer than so many modern bands in the scene but more musical and creative too.
I used to listen to this album while playing Counter Strike on PC with my friends in high school.
That sounds like heaven
this was it for me and my homies !!!!
unc!!!!
It disappoints me that, this, my honest favourite song of all time, has THIS as a video. Glassjaw should have been so much more than they were and Roadrunner should have invested so much more in them.
But that jump is iconic
Lol they wouldn't have made this kind of music if they were not broke AF. This stuff is super niche, sound cloud today.
@@chinogambino9375 "this kind of music" "broke as fuck" explain the correlation please
Im glad this is the video...if anyone wanted to know what a public access video from 2000 looks like....this is it.
@@chinogambino9375 good comparison, this has the same ethos as soundcloud trap which explains why i gravitated in that direction as time passed
Discovered Daryl's voice on one of BMTH's singles, lead me to this band that I now fookin' love. Deftones vibes from this song \m/
Reminds me of the good old days back on the island
best glassjaw song... wish i could see a Glassjaw Show here in Brazil =(
Holy shit this takes me back….freaking looooooved this song and band. Always thought they were under rated.
Blasting this album on valentines day! 🤘

This album is great. Ive owned it three different times bc i played it so much.
The band is amazing, but you also have to give credit to Robinson, who contributed with an incredibly fresh, great production. He is probably one of the best rock/metal producers ever.
The main reason why I decided on listening to this album is because I saw he produced it.
And from what multiple people have told me, he is the devil.

Classic Queen!
A hiccup in paradise, I KEEP YOU JEALOUSLY TO MYSELF! The chorus is so melodic!
atmosphere of this song is so ridiculous it sounds soooooo crazy on my subs

My intro to glassjaw on a compilation disc from 2001.
It also had kittie, and Downset on it.
