From every true post hardcore band, a specfic melody or note or sound is made that evokes such a strage emotion, somewhere between fear, anger, sadness, and they balance it perfectly. Emo is too much one way, and Hardcore is too much another. Pop is too organised. This band has some sweet stuff so far.

no wayyyy i thought they were great, tons of energy :) to be honest, it was my friend who was the big fan, i'd only heard the really well known songs before last night, but i've been listening to them all day today, love them now haha :)
two of my friends went to the london show and said they were disappointing. Apparently Convectuoso, Mu Empire and Gillette Cavalcade were great, but they lacked energy. But the videos from the 22nd sound excellent, seeing them in Glasgow tonight :)
Like Glassjaw? You should take a look at Letlive! I know the bands of today are usually shit, and I apologize for my generation. But this band is actually really good and deserves more recognition.. Great lyrics, great musicians, great people, AMAZING MUSIC.
@NyJoeC apparently this year, January, february. They have been releasing singles on vinyl every month since august, and there is speculation that a new album will drop on January 1st at their show in NY.
Not every modern band tries to copy them, look at Letlive or Every time i die... i love glassjaw and i really enjoy both of them, it's very nice there are bands still with great influences.
What's real music to you Nareg? This is real music dude. Listen to the complex melodies and guitar riffs they are playing. I'd like to see you play this on any instrument or sing this. Lets go i will be waiting.
Kinda sounds like they came from an era where post-hardcore and metal were converging. It sounds like At the Drive-in and Korn had a baby. The really early versions of those bands, I mean.
+Sam kogan Of course they did, it is like the essential post-hardcore record, next to like The Shape of Punk to Come. What's strange though is that Glassjaw become an equally influential and iconic group
+Arian hmn i didnt see this until just now. i think they became that much of an influential band because glassjaw still has its own unique sound. also, in a strange way, because they dont have an extensive body of work but have still remained a band for so long, people are hanging onto the greatness they have made without anything that has been disappointing. less is more and glassjaw proved that in a way.

The singer also is the only guitarist and he is off key lots of times but if you listen to live shows from 2005 from El Corazon and similar venues from Seattle, you can hear that he managed to be on key thru the whole time when he actually practiced vocals, he plays chords mixed with weird and hard to do scales and sings at the same time.
