  • As retailers work to get customers in their stores, the buy nothing movement proposes a worldwide gift economy network that encourages people to share pretty much everything with each other, without exchanging money. CBS Minnesota's Erin Hassanzadeh has more.

My neighbors and I did this in our community laundry room at an apartment complex. We had a give away table in it and left books, clothing, toys, appliances for anyone to help themselves to. It was something that I really enjoyed while living there. We were close knit having community holiday parties and pot lucks regularly.

Yes, this is an idea that merits widespread participation. This is a country where people use their 2-car garage to store things they hardly or never use. Plus there are all those storage facilities filled with belongings. I knew a woman who had 3 of those. I never told her I thought she was a hoarder.

Cool so Anarchy system wrapped up in a bow. When do you start your system of labor to own the means of production of necessary goods? Or do you have to resort to stealing once neighborhood reserves run dry? I understand not buying luxuries. I understand sharing resources for the benefit of community. But unless you guys are immediately building a successful farm and factory somewhere this is a highly temporary thing.

Why do you say that? What sounds like woke-ism and virtue signaling? Sharing with your neighbors is a good thing.

What’s wrong with saving money and making friends with your neighbors? Nobody’s making anyone participate and they’re not shoving it in anyone’s faces either

@@fawnjenkins7266 In a normal community, you don’t need a “progressive movement” to meet neighbors, barter, etc.....
For these city dwellers, they must witness these virtue signals in order to engage with each other....

“Everyone is looking for some type of connection?” Apparently she’s never been to woke California. I go out of my way to NOT connect with the idiots that voted in Gavin Newsom & Nancy Piglosi.
