- As retailers work to get customers in their stores, the buy nothing movement proposes a worldwide gift economy network that encourages people to share pretty much everything with each other, without exchanging money. CBS Minnesota's Erin Hassanzadeh has more.

My neighbors and I did this in our community laundry room at an apartment complex. We had a give away table in it and left books, clothing, toys, appliances for anyone to help themselves to. It was something that I really enjoyed while living there. We were close knit having community holiday parties and pot lucks regularly.
I'm part of the buy nothing movement. Stop spending your hard earned money on overpriced material things you don't need
I'm only purchasing exactly what I need. I think this is wonderful.
Do you have the option to buy what you DONT need?
Inflation has cause food prices to raise incredibly high!
It's about time, we've turned into such a wasteful society
some of us have been buying nothing for years lol
I love American people because they are so creative and inventive with everything! Merry Christmas and happy new year!
Stop spending money, you do not need half the crap that you purchase.
This IS THE BEST THING EVER I ❤ this! Showing the decency humanity STILL HAS is a beautiful and very much needed thing right now man, I love it!
☮❤☯️
Peace*love*understanding
Bruh I go out of my way to not interact with my neighbors lmao
Yes, this is an idea that merits widespread participation. This is a country where people use their 2-car garage to store things they hardly or never use. Plus there are all those storage facilities filled with belongings. I knew a woman who had 3 of those. I never told her I thought she was a hoarder.
LET'S CLEAN UP THAT MESS IN THE CHLEAN DESERT...ALL THOSE UNUSED CLOTHES.
Great idea. I love it!! ❤️💡
Honey the grown ups have been doing this for years. Been like this for us for decades. MSM come on man
I belong to a group called Freecycle.
I tried - people are way too proud to accept used stuff.

Typhoid Mary is blushing.
Cool so Anarchy system wrapped up in a bow. When do you start your system of labor to own the means of production of necessary goods? Or do you have to resort to stealing once neighborhood reserves run dry? I understand not buying luxuries. I understand sharing resources for the benefit of community. But unless you guys are immediately building a successful farm and factory somewhere this is a highly temporary thing.
Great idea during the most deadly pandemic the world has ever seen! Let's give it away!
The most woke, SJW, virtue signaling thing I’ve ever witnessed in my life.
👍
Why do you say that? What sounds like woke-ism and virtue signaling? Sharing with your neighbors is a good thing.
What’s wrong with saving money and making friends with your neighbors? Nobody’s making anyone participate and they’re not shoving it in anyone’s faces either
@@fawnjenkins7266 In a normal community, you don’t need a “progressive movement” to meet neighbors, barter, etc.....
For these city dwellers, they must witness these virtue signals in order to engage with each other....
Like The Borg.
I live like this for 20 years until my parent kick me out
“Everyone is looking for some type of connection?” Apparently she’s never been to woke California. I go out of my way to NOT connect with the idiots that voted in Gavin Newsom & Nancy Piglosi.
Boring
