I was hoping to see you guys review this ski! Would love your advice - thinking about adding something like this Curv GT to my quiver, which currently consists of a 181cm J Masterblaster and 186cm Salomon Blank. Park City home mountain, advanced skier, about 40 days last season. Want something more carve-oriented, but I can't decide if I'd be giving up too much versatility with the Curv vs. something like that Enforcer 88 or even the Fischer GT 86 (or Brahma 88?). I have no doubt the Curv GT would be SOOO fun, but I wonder if it's not versatile enough. Any thoughts? Is it much different than the 2020 version, which can be found quite a bit cheaper these days? Thanks and keep up the great work!!
Hi Loren! I have a few thoughts. Your Masterblasters are fairly versatile already. Sure they're 99 underfoot, but as I'm sure you know, they can basically go anywhere. So, I wonder how much versatility you need in this 3rd pair. Some, sure, but a true all-mountain ski? I'm not sure, because you already have a really good one. Do the RC One 86 GT and Brahma 88 carve well? Yes, but they're not as quick or as precise as The Curv GT. I think I'm leaning towards The Curv for you, just because it's going to be that much more fun on firm snow days. It's a very rewarding carving ski and in my opinion, it's always nice to have the right tool for the job you're looking to do. In this case, carving is your focus, so why not get the most carving oriented ski and leave the versatility to your J Skis? In comparison to the 2020 model, it's fairly similar, but the new ski does feel more refined. Tough to really explain, but I do prefer the 2022 ski. Hope that helps!
@@SkiEssentials Thank you so much for the detailed response! I guess if I was being honest with myself, I was really hoping you would suggest the Curv, haha! Agreed on the incredible versatility of those Masterblasters, so a true dedicated carver just sounds like so much fun. Really appreciate all you guys do and thanks again.
Hello, thank you for this review. I'm looking for a ski for carving turns with sufficient edge grip. I already have the fischer ranger 92ti 171cm. A great ski but not ideal for hard slopes and shorter radius. What are the main differences between RC ONE 82GT and the CURV GT?
The Curv feels like a more energetic ski that loves to be driven from edge to edge. The RC one is more of a rolling-style of ski that feels more planted to the snow. If you're looking for grip and pop, I'd go Curv GT.
When was the skiing part shot, and where?
We filmed this ski two times over the winter at Stowe, Vermont, once mid-winter and once in the spring.

@@lorenroot7667 Happy to help! I think you'll be psyched to have a true carving ski like The Curv rather than an "all-mountain carver"
