Great instructional video!!
This is really good stuff.
2:30 an 2:41: should this be "new uphill ski"?
+Mike W The new inside ski! Yes.
So is it the pole plant that cues the tipping of the new inside ski? What about CA and CB?
+Dennis Malkowski We build one "Essential", at a time, the pole plant is a totally different set of moments and it is connected to Counter Acting. Have a look at our Web site for the Counter acting and pole plant videos.
It appears to me that Harald is lifting the inside ski more than necessary to execute the phantom edge in order to demonstrate this technique. Do I have that right? Changing subjects, my experience is that after I initate tipping the inside ski, the outside ski mimics so organically that it feels more like a single movement rather than two separate ones.
You have it right - he is exaggerating for demonstration purposes in this film. And yes, the sensation of simultaneity you’re feeling is exactly as it should be.
Yes exaggeration is key to demonstrating. Few people can see the moments that are most important that is why we point them out.
