    Ryan definitely adds value to a review on a ski like this. Even on something like a Brahma/Enf 88 would be interesting too
    I have RC4 WC GS for the same reason and only wish I could do what he is doing.
    You guys are good to watch too of course. 😉
    We start in a week over here in NZ, can't wait.
    Great stuff as usual guys.

      Thanks! Ryan's a lot of fun to ski with and a lot of fun for me to film. You'll probably see him in more and more of our content going forward. It helps that he's engaged to our Director of Operations ;)

    I know this comment is a little bit late and a little bit off topic; but I just rounded out my Midwest (Minnesota) ski quiver with a pair of RC ONE 86 GTs. And everything you're saying is spot on. Fischer has a magnificent way of making racing-influenced skis approachable for every-day skiers.
    Atomics can punish you, where Fishers cooperate with you. I'm LOVING what Fischer is doing these days.
    RC ONE 86 GTs for the front side; (pink/previous-gen) Ranger 102 FRs for the trees & back side - and I'm SO happy with Fischer!!

      Well thought out comment! Agree that they are making some great skis these days!

      Hey James, are you referring to Atomic Redster series as punishing?

    • @SpressoMan
      @SpressoMan Год назад

      @Nikos Per the Vantage 79ti. They're too long for my height, and they're not a good Midwest ski (our runs are too short). At 171cm, they poetically would've worked better.
      But I love Fischer, and I'm not looking back!

    great opening sequence makes me wish i skied more this season. And i do love those bindings and wish all skis were offered with that system. just the right height for me and rock solid plus easy to take off and get 2 pairs in one bag for air travel.

      Gondolier at Stowe, and the adjacent Perry Merrill are elite groomer trails.

    Ryan is such a beautiful powerful skier to watch exploit what a ski can do - just watching him, you can understand what the designers had in mind from a design perspective. I can see why you would say instructors might consider this ski - they could demonstrate to the kids what to do & also have a wider shovel for later in the day. This isn't meant to be a negative comment, but you could probably fill an entire rental fleet with these and 80% of front-side skiers would approve - from Ryan to a beginner. I personally find a narrower underfoot ski easier on the knees and also easier intuitively, maybe because I'm a former hockey player, to be on edge underfoot faster - but I understand that this likely isn't a universal opinion. I would personally rather have their outrageously amazing yellow RC4 CT and an Enforcer 88 for afternoons - but I would happily rent this ski, at Tremblant for a day of skiing, and be perfectly happy.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  3 года назад

      Yes! I know exactly what you mean by your comment could come across as negative, but I agree. You could fill a rental fleet with these and most skiers would have no trouble skiing them, but then someone like Ryan can ski it and absolutely rip.
      Ryan's been in our content before, but you'll probably see more of him going forward. He was present for a lot of shoots this past winter that we haven't really shared much from just yet...

    I am not a racer but is someone who love to put ski on edge and I am looking to getting a new pair of carving ski. I am debating between the curv model and the rc4 ct model. You mentioned the curv model is more forgiving (and I have seen other review saying the ct model is more demanding). Can you plz elaborate more / give example on what exactly does it mean for a ski to be more forgiving?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 года назад +2

      The flex of the shovel in the Curv GT is a bit softer than the flex more often found in true race skis like the CT, which is stiffer, heavier, and more demanding. If you're an experienced racer and want that true tip to tail total stiffness and stability, the more race-like skis you should be looking at. The Curv GT, at 76 mm underfoot is a high-end recreational carver for sure, but is not a race ski.

    hey guys Great vid. which one? Curv Gt or Deacon 84 ? Which one would perform better on ice or frozen hard Spring Corn?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  Год назад +1

      The Deacon 84 is an awesome choice for blending the firm snow and frozen corn. It's wider and more versatile, but it does not lose out on any carving capabilities. I'd go that route.

    How would you compare these to the HRC’s? I bought a pair of the Comp 76 but found them way to soft underfoot and just not able to handle pushing them hard. Looking for a top end performance 76mm ski. Thanks for the help

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  3 года назад +1

      Very similar for sure. I do think The Curv is a touch more forgiving than the HRC, but you really don't lose too much power between them. Either one would be a step up from your Comp 76 for sure.

    • @1mtis

      @@SkiEssentials which one would you say has better edge grip and more suited to high speed skiing?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  3 года назад +1

      @@1mtis It's a close comparison, but I'd give it to the HRC for raw stability and edge grip, the HRC just isn't quite as supple.

    Hi, is the Fischer RC4 Curv GT more race oriented than the Völkl Deacon 84? Which is the better of the 2 skis? Thanks!!

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 года назад +4

      HI Jack!
      Yes, I'd take the Curv GT into the racecourse before the Deacon. From a gates perspective, the Curv is a better choice, but if you're partaking in more all-mountain skiing, the Deacon 84 is more well-rounded and versatile.

    May I know which Fischer model is more suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  Год назад +1

      RC One 74 is a pretty ideal beginner ski. Someone at more of an intermediate level could bump up to the RC One 78 or 82 for a little extra performance. I also think the Ranger 90 is suitable for an intermediate, although that's more of an all-mountain width and shape, rather than groomer/frontside focused.

    Thanks for the review, how does it compare with head e-rally, atomic q9 and Rossi hero elite MT? In terms of forgiveness, versatility and fatiguing also the ability to make different turn shapes. If these skis are not for all day use should I look less aggressive skis?

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  10 месяцев назад

      The Curv GT feels a bit lighter than the other skis on this list. That makes it more versatile in terms of turn shape and style as well as versatility. The Rossignol is a bit more forgiving, but that's really it when it comes to differences between these skis. If you're staying in this width range and looking for something for all day use, check out Volkl Deacon 80, and if you're in the 80 range, I'd also add the Stockli Montero AX to the discussion.

    Tyrolia 13 din is for bad skiers. If that's the default are they sending a message?
    That said, if you're lighter, it's not like it really matters.

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  5 месяцев назад

      There aren't too many skiers who chart out at or above the 13 DIN of these bindings. That said, there are more race-specific skis out there that have race plates for your own race bindings!

    It was definitely not "weird" snow 😂

    • @SkiEssentials
      @SkiEssentials  2 года назад +1

      I thought it was pretty darn weird! Soft granular, which was smooth, but then you'd push right through it really firm, frozen underneath, but that frozen wasn't smooth, so you had to be really delicate on your feet. We just wanted to push and push more, but snow wouldn't really us!
