Just drove 32 miles each way from my home in Anaheim Ca to Redondo Beach Ca using FSD 12.3, included road works, workmen with hand held stop sign, 3 freeways, carpool lands and although I was being driven 10 miles over the speed limit in the carpool lane while passing cars in the regular lanes someone cut in front of me and brake checked me. I was laughing at the brake checker as the AI just slowed down and waited till he drove away before continuing. The drive was excellent no intervention by me both ways.

FSD 12.3 is good, but it still makes mistakes, like driving into my friends neighbors driveway to park. Which is pretty fantastic if you think about it.

Delivery personnel don't have time to do this as it's reported that you have to calibrate the cameras which takes an hour of driving around. Best to have a demo unit with cameras calibrated and use it to take new buyers for a demo FSD drive.
Mandatory FSD test drives with purchase is one of the best advertising ideas ever. Every new owner with be spreading the word on The amazing evolution of V12!!!!

I do wonder if Elon is knowingly a master salesman/genius or if it’s just his first principles logic thinking…. It’s amazing to live in the same lifetime as a modern day Newton, Einstein, Plato etc… History will celebrate and champion Elon in the same way.

For a top math student as yourself, I am surprised when you suggest that Tesla is ready for Robotaxi after 100 mile intervention free drive. If Robotaxi is to be ten times better than the average driver having an average accident rate of one accident per 533,000 miles, then we can concluded that Robotaxi is ready when it drives approximately 5 million miles intervention free. That is still a long way to go Matt. A little objectivity, not everyone is as smart as you. Cheers.
Altough I agree with you, keep in mind that an intervention does not equal an accident. Many interventions are precautions because FSD is not confident/sure what to do. Also even catastrofic interventions might not cause an accident perse. Imagine: an FSD car tries to cross a road when there is another car coming. This will cause an intervention. Yet, in reality, chances are that the other car will break in time for example. This is included in the human statistic you mention.
Yet I agree that for robotaxis you would indeed need intervention free driving for much more than 100 miles :D
Previously you weren't allowed to look inside your new car until you signed for delivery. I know this because my brother was not allowed to look inside his car to inspect it until he signed for delivery on his new model y performance when he bought it. However now if it is a mandatory FSD test drive that means they can no longer say that you're not allowed to look inside the vehicle to inspect it. I thought it was quite ridiculous and he was actually highly pissed off that they would only let him inspect the outside of the car and not the inside of the car... That was a very stupid policy and hopefully this means that that idiotic nonsense is going away.

how about people that have FSD that are still on version 11? be nice to have the upgrade as it is supposed be better and safer..
FSD 12 is still not a nationwide solution, I know Brad Ferguson took it across the country but Tesla wants to be extra sure that it will not give nasty surprises in the less trained areas. No FSD in Canada for instance suggests this is true.
@@khuo0219 I have FSD and live in Canada - had it since 2021 I am in the Beta program.. just dont have level 12 yet.

it depends.... most wall st ANALysts do 12 month price targets. some funds like ARK, or Ron Barron do longer time frames like 5 years

Just tried 12.3 and it still gets into wrong turning lanes for me but otherwise it doesn’t do insane things like v11 that make me super nervous and try to kill me
FSD 12.3 is underrated because it comes from Tesla where innovation is commonplace. Imagine, if this FSD release comes from other carmaker, what a big news it will be!
Why still sell Autopilot? Why not sell FSD (supervised) as the best ADAS system out there. Otheres charge 6k for ADAS also... Why not sell supervised FSD for 20% more than the average... and later when FSD is really good, cash in another 5k for (unsupervised) driving. That way, more date, no more Autopilot hate in public, more people get used to it and are more likely to upgrade later, and on top you make clear that the money you pay now is not autonomous, extra future fee could go to insurance if something happens
The stock is momentarely up because it s waiting for the 1st quarter devlivery numbers. As soon as the news is out (don t care what the number is), the stock is going back down. Has done this every time i can remember for the last 4 years, unless there was an imminent unrelated catalist.
stocks up because it has positive catalyst and investor knows delivery numbers quarterly are not an issue long term and impact to overall cash flow zero and profit accumulates… they know source out there are just smearing on Quarterly with ridiculous target on current state..

Too bad Elon doesn't know much about how bad fsd is on hw4 in modely from austin. I have been waiting for a download that could be upgraded to fsd 12 but nothing yet. I am not going to start paying for it before it is available on my car. And I will not pay for the version that I got the three month trial with. That was certainly no better than the standard autopilot. I can understand why it's so bad. The car can't tell the difference between one inch and one foot. I don't see how it can be safe wth this level of uncertainty

Elon wants way, WAY more people paying for FSD. It's just that, it needs to become FSD before people will be willing to pay. 2025 is going to be an insane year.
We need somone sleeping in the FSD Car from Arizona to California freeway I10 for 350 miles . No intervention. Full on sleeping, eating , not touching the wheels.
I will pay them $500. Cash.
The way to do this is to Sandwich convoy, Tesla Semi . Non fsd ahead sandwiched are 5 Teslas cars. Behind is Tesla camera crew.
Tesla deliveries are projected to be below 400k in this quarter. China alone almost -20k YoY. If they cannot get their act together in the last two weeks, that will realize.
Some predict even near 350k, but that is too low IMO.
Pushing a product that not fully ready to consumers will create more bad than good news. FSD 12.3 has been receiving TONS of negative reviews. This is NOT a good news. This is desperation.
