    I have the same sentiment. I have not been able to trace my African ancestors back that far, but I am getting close after 20+ years of research. But what gives me so much pride is knowing that I come from people who lived through some of the most horrific inhuman situations I could possibly imagine. I think that if they could see us now they would all hold their heads high. Just knowing that we have survived.

      Earnestine Jones I totally agree and this is why it is offensive and in poor taste when our narrative is purposefully altered. You want Jesus to be white, Santa to be white, all loved not to matter, inequality in the access to education and healthcare, AND to suggest that we merely settled in America willingly?! ... come on now y’all enough is enough.

    • @PHlophe

      Ernestine, i don't think they meant malice but they oughta have used the correct words with historical context without shortcuts. this reminds me of when Ywite people use the word "settlers" instead of invaders or they use "expat" when instead of immigrant to describe their status. They are perfectly aware of the weight of words.

      Those first Africans were more "indentured labourers" than chattel . They actually got their freedom after they served. This is not to discount the brutality that followed in coming years, but we must understand that the Black America experience is very nuanced.

Africans trades with Native Americans and even a lot of the Gods and Idols in the America’s were Negritic/Olmec type sculptures. We’ve stepped foot on this land well before the white man. They don’t teach this at all. Smh

    • @SoSpecial16
      @SoSpecial16 4 года назад +5

      DaGuy WhoKnowz yes, I believe this too especially seeing articles of native Americans reclaiming their ancestry as they were reclassified as "black or African slaves". Also the understanding that parts of the Grand Canyon have pyramids too, and areas that cannot be accessed by the public, which could be considered as wanting to hide the truth to suit the distorted narrative. As well as the understanding that the world was considered by some geologists to be one complete land mass called Pangea, with South America being connected to the African continent, as fossils of the same animals have apparently been found in similar areas if they were to be connected today. So interesting. Just a shame that there is so much information that is out there but people rather not do the thinking, and let the media narrative think for them.

We still own land that used to go not the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station but was stolen. But the land still is there also near BUSCH GARDENS. The family is also related to the Roberts of Norfolk that eventually helped to return Africans to Africa, to establish the country Liberia. A one reading this, you will find this information online. The church, St Johns Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Va holds our ancestors. Surnames related to the Roberts are Norcross, Hundley, Wynn, Randall. Also free people of color.

Knowing this black family has tangible history and a cemetery and pictures, seeing the photos of their ancestors who walked this American soil hundreds of years ago...It makes me realize what I lost as a result of slavery. Our ability to trace our roots to the original immigrant family (in our case, forced immigration) is severely impaired as black people. I'm glad this family has this. May they continue to chronicle their history which is the beginning of our history as black Americans. It also serves as a bridge back to our African roots. Sad that we have to claim the entire continent because we don't know which country our families came from. But that's ok. My eternal home in the future is more important than my earthly roots anyway. Jesus gives me peace amongst the pain intertwined in our history and our current situation.

    The first enslaved Africans arrived in North America in 1526 in South Carolina. They settled with Native Americans. The first recorded enslaved birth was recorded in St. Augustine Florida in 1606 a year before Jamestown waa even founded. Black history in the US is older than english history in the US. Always remember that. Schools in America will teach you more about european jewish holoaust, than it will teach about it's own, concerning Native Americans and Native Black Americans. This is literally why its so ridiculous when racist people say things to Native Black Americans like "go back to Africa" like really??? 99 percent of our ancestors were here before most others and our ethnicity was literally CREATED in America. This is part of the reason why its also insulting when people say dumb stuff like "we are a nation of immigrants", ummmmm no we are NOT. Native Americans, and ETHNIC African American/Native Black American/ADOS ancestors did NOT immigrate here. The only groups who's ancestors didnt come to America "seeking a better life" or looking for the "American Dream" as a matter of fact they WERE the dream to some. Love this story

    To the Tucker Family of Virginia, do you have Tucker Ancestors that lived in Fulton, Missouri? (Callaway County? ) I have some written information I kept from an Estate Sale in Columbia, Mo. (Boone County) that I thought was interesting & important. Lillian Tucker was, I believe, an Aunt or Cousin of the folks who had the sale . The things I have were going to be discarded after the sale was over. I also have a picture in a glass framed broach of a man. I believe the writing on the glass said 1843. It has been erased due to the moving around of these articles through the years. Awaiting replies.

I wonder how hard it would be to try and trace the roots of that ancestry when they were first brought to Mexico and the US
