It is damnable heresy to teach that your religion/church can save you, when only the Saviour can (John 14:6, John 10:1-9), who is Almighty and sinless to do so, and offered His ONE and ALMIGHTY sacrifice on the cross for you to trust over religious clergy and their Traditions of the Elders (Mark 7:8) to save you.
"Father" Moses teaches the judaizing heresy of the Galatians. The Apostles rebuked such things, including by saying that water baptism is only for those ALREADY saved (ie, born again) in Acts 10:47.

I relate heavily to your story but instead of finding Christ I found the evil of therapy and self help which made me feel like a ghost for a long time. I just finished a degree in psychology because of my dream to become a therapist. Do you think there is any hope in psychology or therapy to help peopl? I am reconsidering this approach to my career already but I wonder if people who have a bad opinion on therapy can see the possibility of good in it or whether it is bad from the roots/core.

    • @somevids4187
      @somevids4187 8 дней назад

@@dafish691I don’t know. I think only if the therapist is a practising Orthodox Christian and that’s where the problem also arises. How much can you talk about God and point people in His direction without prozelitising until it becomes a problem that takes your practice away? Or if they seem to not be open to God, pray for wisdom that you can at least help the most depressed or desperate cases to come out of it until they hopefuly find God. And being an example of a good Christian and having a tangential talk about it when questioning and probing might make them more open to it. There are problems with psychology in general, because it’s skewed and wordly with ideas like Freud’s for example. But you can make it your own and be in the presence of these people looking for help and, without forcing it, open this window for them to look at life differently. But again, you need to check what is alowed legally in a practice like this in your state/country. There are books on psychology and psychiatry from an Orthodox spiritual perspective, at least translated in my language (romanian). Look up Archbishop Hierotheos Vlachos for an example.

I use some inquiry tools to uncover buried, repressed anger which I didn't even know I had till I saw it. That is helping me to clear feelings out and surrender and get closer to God esp. when I read Psalms. The typical landing, ie defence mechanism, for anger repressors is to be small, nice, not good enough, anxious, depressed, wounded or feeling like a victim. This is all to stay safe from buried anger and get approval from others. It's a horrible place to be, so when I see the landings I can dismiss it more these days, get to feel the underlying anger, process it and have more space to surrender to Spirit, and express needs/boundaries with others if I need to. It makes for more authentic relating instead of shutting down or pretending. So these tools can really help if they are used correctly and in union with God.

I got high on weed brownies with my dad and uncle at age 12, took acid at age 14, moved on to blow and ecstasy, then heavy alcoholism. Got “ saved” at my granny’s Pentecostal church at age 22. Left because it’s insane. Got a DUI. Lost my drivers licence. Went to college to become an Addiction Counselor. Became one. Got fired because I couldn’t handle it. Met my Russian wife. Found the Orthodox Church. Was baptized as Nicholas in 2015. Wandered away into the occult, astrology, tarot cards, and freemasonry. Realized it was all satanic. Went back to the Orthodox Church. Confessed. Felt something like a heavy weight fly off my back. Now I’m soon to be 41. I have 3 children. I am 7 days without a drink. Still struggling with cigarettes and demonic attack. I needed to hear this today. Thank you for your sincere candor and sharing your journey. That all resonated with me very deeply; even though our stories are respectively different. I also grew up around a lot of yelling, fighting & drinking as a child and teenager. Then I enlisted into the Marines. Got treated like an animal for four years and sent to trashcanistan twice and saw quite enough. Lots of feelings of resentment and anger about the whole experience.
Ended up pushing myself through college and dealing with people who are truly privileged telling me that I am (who grew up poor and then wounded in war). Then went on to work jobs I've fcking hated. Bosses and coworkers I'd love to punch in the face.
My only constant feeling is anger. I get flashes of being red hot and it can keep me up at night. At the world and people.
But yeah, forgiveness and trust in Jesus & God's Will. I'm trying! Thank you, Father Moses.

Thank you Fr. For sharing your story. Forgiveness is so powerful. I got similar advice when I came to the church after growing up in a dysfunctional home (I also self medicated and started drinking at a very young age) then I had a traumatic pregnancy loss and near d.eath experience in my late 20's. I spent years in therapy trying to get over my childhood in my early 20s. I couldn't even speak of the loss without falling apart. I was given the advice to forgive by my priest and eventually I forgave my parents and the medical system that led to the loss of my daughter. Having my boys also made me too busy to dwell; I think that's important too, it forced me to put it behind me though I wasn'tgiven that advice it is very good advice. With that and baptism, I no longer suffer the way I did before, and now I can pray if I flash back and I feel so much comfort. Thank God.

Father thank you. I come from such a similar background, but instead of a school it was at the hands of my own father I suffered greatly. I've watched countless videos about forgiveness and it's been so hard for me to wrap my mind around it until now. I need to learn to forgive because 1 I'm not there anymore I'm in the present, and 2 the biggest thing you elucidated was he's also a very damaged person in his own ways. Those people need compassion just as badly as I need it from others who I might have hurt in my life. Thank you. This gives me so much to think about. Honestly my trauma has brought my anxiety disorders to the brink of killing me and that is no exaggeration, I'm very very ill from it physically. Regardless what happens to my body, thank you for helping me learn to forgive. May God bless you and reward you greatly in heaven for guiding many of us who have no other access to a spiritual Father in our lives.

Thanks for the video. With the grace of God I managed to at least mentally understand why my father neglected me and my brother after our mom died with the amount of loss and grief he went through, and also why his second wife who was abused as a child passed unto us the same evil, and wanted us to suffer just because we were the leftovers of my dad's past life.
I have a degree of compassion and I know that hating them will not help me, but I just don't know how I'm supposed to let go when even without thinking about the past, I'm the product of it in the present, and doesn't matter how much I progress on the surface, I'm still extremely paranoid and anxious and just thinking of pursuing marriage and family life terrifies me because I'm scared to death I will not be able to defend my wife and kids like I didn't defend my brother when we were kids. And taking care of myself physically and doing martial arts didn't diminish that. Prayer keeps me from not losing my mind completely, but since coming into the Church this war only got ten times tougher.

These symptoms of trauma all come from hidden, repressed anger or hurt. Hurt repressors openly express their anger and rage whilst burying the hurt. But for anger repressors like me, it was too dangerous to express that anger for fear of retaliation, punishment or rejection so it got pushed down and buried to the point that it was invisible. I didn't even know I was angry till I uncovered it! That's because the survival defences kick in to stay safe and get approval. Some of those landings, ie defences, include being small, shutdown, nice, wounded, victimised, silent resentment, not good enough, anxious depressed etc. We get distracted and consumed by these defences so we can't see the repressed emotion under it. God gave me the insight to see these landings for what they are, survival programs to stay safe/get approval, to dismiss them and uncover the buried anger underneath. As I started to process the repressed anger and express more authentically to family, I started coming out of that repression hell, and the space for surrender to God is opening up more, esp when I read Psalms. I feel reborn in God but it took some inner work to get there!

I don't know how, but God put it in my heart to forgive him and I tho't that he must have had serious problems of his own to do that, even tho' I was only 12 and he had terrified me. I was spared future abuse when my f-mom divorced him. God also saved me from much worse abuse by my f-mom leaving a sick cult she was involved in for a while, where 2 of my brothers and some of my cousins were gravely abused! I never suffered the repercussions of that experience like many girls do who have been abused. Forgiving the evil deeds committed against us by others is the remedy to restoring one's own life. And when they come to mind, forgive again and again, until they are buried for good. God bless you, Father.

God bless you father. I have been walking in faith for the last few years after being an atheist for most of my life, even though i was baptized as a greek orthodox. I come from a deeply, deeply dysfunctional home, and could not believe that God is real if he is letting things like this happen to children. but i understand now. thank you so much for this, my story is very similar to yours and every word you said resonated in my soul. thank you for showing me the way out. it is difficult since i have no mentor or support system, but i will follow your advice diligently, and i will make it out.

Thank you Fr. Moses for your testimony and inspiring story of forgiveness, love and hope. I can relate. Glory to God and His Holy Church of the Ages! While the devil and his demons and the broken and lost, mean things for evil, there is nothing the Spirit of Christ can’t repurpose for good! Christ is Lord of lords and King of kings!

I had a terrible relationship as a young man in high school that was sexually manipulative and by engaging in it, it led to a long and painful addiction to pornography. Even now I still feel the tug and pull of the addiction in the back of my mind and it has been a self-medication for being alone and not having a loving woman in my life.
Father Moses, watching this has so strongly impacted me on this. I’ve held so much guilt on this and hearing you share has been so incredibly freeing. Thank you for your videos and God bless you. You are doing wonderful things.

Thank you for equating forgivness with compassion, that struck home with me, and has been what I've been practicing.
I never understood forgivness, but I do understand compassion.
It's not about accepting people's misbehaviour, but about seeing their broken side, their wounded selfish childish sides, this I have compassion for.

Glory to God for this. I experienced consistent abuse and severe trauma as a boy and was forced to hide it. Never allowed acknowledge it happened. I was out of the church for 35 years. Christ and learning to forgive (it takes time for me) and the church has helped me more than i probably even understand

I've seen you so active in sm and followed you for this type of content. I'm of catholic tradition and pretty much like every other man in modern times in the west i've not been an active member of the church. I believe in Jesus Christ but still can't put it in words to why or how...
Despite many attempts to get closer to a religious life i still struggle with sins and can't help to feel unworthy of calling myself a christian. I have reached a good point in life, i'm 25 years old, managed to make it socially and financially after a hard life and just now i feel like this is the missing piece on my heart
Keep it up with the videos, they are extremely helpful, i hope next time i comment i'm closer to God. Greetings from Argentina

Another powerful presentation! I still struggle with forgiveness to this day. I have an Uncle who pretended to be a pastor in the community and he's burned every bridge around him. It wasn't until the death of my aunt I truly witnessed his character w/o any pretense or hiding. I honestly wanted to take his life, in front of the family. He's still around, I just have to limit my time around him.

I didn’t want to tell my mother that it was the babysitter who did it to me, because I didn’t want her to feel guilty like it was her fault for leaving us with that person.
