I'm not going to lie Father Spyridon. Ever since i converted to Orthodox about 5 years ago, my life has gone to complete shit. My career went down the tube. My health has been failing. I'm almost completely broke. I can barely survive. I lost my eyesight in one eye, drew another few more autoimmune diseases they can't figure out. I have 0 social life hardly any friends anymore. I feel like I'm in a pit of hopelessness. I can't control my thoughts. The depression is so severe, It's like I'm cursed I never even really felt welcomed into the church to begin with. Sorry but i feel and see no hope or light at the end of the tunnel.

He went through the cross with a crown of thorns, the weight of our sins, pierced and mistreated and nailed to a wooden cross. He can pull you out of depression, out of curses and truly heals your spirit. All of us are broken and in need of Him, I pray that you turn to him, and remember; what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul?(Mark 8:36) If you need guidance and spiritual support, seek Christ and go to the church. Seek support from your pastor and if he's an honourable man he'll help you.
I fell into sin yesterday. Hard. I had a bad day and I did what I told myself I wouldn't do again. Every day is a battle. It has to be that way. I'd rather fight the good fight than succumb to the vile and wicked desires of my heart. In every aspect of life wickedness attacks me. It stalks me in hopes to recruit me. I will be bent and I will be bruised. I will not break because I will always return to the Lord my Savior. My sins are horrible. My God gives me a way out and I still indulge. Yet I return. Pray for me brothers and sisters. Even if for a split second. I have no doubt left. The Lord exists and I will try to serve him through faith, righteousness, and trust. Today is a good day. PRAISE BE TO THE LORD OUR GOD! AMEN
Praying for you man, you got this!! Trust Jesus and stay strong in your faith, that’s the only way to break that habit and don’t let the enemy tell you that God doesn’t want to see you or talk to you, he does! Stay focused and love the lord and the devil will flee my friend, you got this.

Have a prayer rule. Also whenever you catch yourself thinking any bad thoughts or thoughts that are not nice and can lead to bad thoughts, start Jesus prayer until they go away.

I'm 15 years old and I've called upon God every time I've been tempted with lustful sins and I have not given in to lust for a while now and now I'm just here like what's next because after Christ helped me overcome the sin that I've been struggling with for years now what does he have next for me because once he helped me overcome lust i just lost interest in all my goals and the only thing I want is to become Christ-like. I've still got some sins to overcome but they feel very miniscule compared to how much I was struggling with lust but I've just been waiting the past few weeks for whatever God has next for me

It's crazy how you can tell yourself over and over and remind yourself even "don't do it" "don't do it" and we still do it, the regret,the feelings we have after is so painful not physically but emotionally in a way where it's hard to forget without sitting there praying, begging God for help many of us have gone through that and we can all come out from that with God. I’m right there with you, brother. A couple of passages that stuck out to me recently: Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs. (Proverbs 19:11) People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness. (Proverbs 14:29)
If we are tempted, don't turn to sin for comfort. Don't let despair turn us to sin, because despair has no truth. It tells us to sin and it tells us it's too late and to give up. But nothing true tells us to sin. Seek to be in his presence, don't run from his presence, fill your mind and heart with him, so there's no more room for sin. When you're tempted say "Lord Jesus Christ son of God have mercy on me a sinner." Be mindful of every word and trust in him.
Fr Spyridon, thank you for your ministry. These talks have become very important to me. We are children of the Living God, who sent His only Son to redeem us with His precious blood. So, why do we doubt? The world is a raging storm, throwing crashing waves onto our little boat constantly. As soon as we try to recover from one blow, another lands, still more furious and damaging. Yet, even on those very waves, in the fourth watch of the night, our Lord is walking toward us to gather us to himself and saying to us; “Be of good heart: it is I, fear ye not.”…. …”Oh thou of little faith, why didst thou doubt?”

Praying for you my man, these seasons are really hard I know, I’m going through one right now but what we have to remember is that sometimes when it feels like God is distant or turning away from you, he isn’t and that’s a lie from the enemy. Everyone goes through seasons where they aren’t on some Jesus high or it feels like he’s stepped back, that’s okay! Just make sure you still show him you’re faithful and you won’t falter and this season will end.
Sometimes it might feel hard ml but YOU ARE A SOLDIER IN GOD'S ARMY!! And when you're in God's Army there is not giving up no matter how much attacks and scars and wounds you have keep fighting. Keep Praying. Keep Believing. Pray even when you don't feel like it. Read the Bible. Listen to Christian podcasts, or videos like this one etc. God be with you❤🙏
I know Father's words ring true, because as I try to listen and contemplate, worldly distractions and all manner of evil things try to push their way to the front of my mind. This happens at no other time than when I am reading scripture or listening to the words of elders.

Fear the Lord, not your shadow. I love that message so much, because when you stop paying attention to your shadow and solely focus on the Lord he will give you the patient endurance that you seek to overcome any struggle.

I graduated from high school this year as well as turned 18 a month later. I'm worried about having to become independent and integrate into society. The world is full of so many evils and struggles.
James 1:14-15 (NIV) - "But each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death." Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
You are an amazing speaker and inspiration in this world, Father Spyridon! What you said about how sin is so commonly accepted in this world is spot on. A couple days ago I went to Shaw's to get a few things, and walked past the magazines, and it is just sad seeing what people accept for "entertainment." Arguably the worst being content like Sports Illustrated, which had a woman in a bikini on the cover. Someone's daughter, practically naked, on display for men, women, and children to see. I cringed when I saw it, but I pray for the woman on the cover, as well as al my neighbors as usual. God bless... Psalm 27:1, The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? God has given me more than I can ask for. He’s set me on path, that I begged for. Yet I still fall for sin, I repent, and sin again, and the guilt I feel is immense. For years I prayed to have a opportunity in the sport of boxing, today, I finally got my big break. Yet I still struggle with lust. How do I beat it? We are children of the Living God, who sent His only Son to redeem us with His precious blood. So, why do we doubt?
The world is a raging storm, throwing crashing waves onto our little boat constantly. As soon as we try to recover from one blow, another lands, still more furious and damaging. Yet, even on those very waves, in the fourth watch of the night, our Lord is walking toward us to gather us to himself and saying to us; “Be of good heart: it is I, fear ye not.”….

Praying for you my man, these seasons are really hard I know, I’m going through one right now but what we have to remember is that sometimes when it feels like God is distant or turning away from you, he isn’t and that’s a lie from the enemy. Everyone goes through seasons where they aren’t on some Jesus high or it feels like he’s stepped back, that’s okay! Just make sure you still show him you’re faithful and you won’t falter and this season will end.

Sometimes it might feel hard ml but YOU ARE A SOLDIER IN GOD'S ARMY!! And when you're in God's Army there is not giving up no matter how much attacks and scars and wounds you have keep fighting. Keep Praying. Keep Believing. Pray even when you don't feel like it. Read the Bible. Listen to Christian podcasts, or videos like this one etc. God be with you❤🙏

You are an amazing speaker and inspiration in this world, Father Spyridon! What you said about how sin is so commonly accepted in this world is spot on. A couple days ago I went to Shaw's to get a few things, and walked past the magazines, and it is just sad seeing what people accept for "entertainment." Arguably the worst being content like Sports Illustrated, which had a woman in a bikini on the cover. Someone's daughter, practically naked, on display for men, women, and children to see. I cringed when I saw it, but I pray for the woman on the cover, as well as al my neighbors as usual. God bless... Psalm 27:1, The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

God has given me more than I can ask for. He’s set me on path, that I begged for. Yet I still fall for sin, I repent, and sin again, and the guilt I feel is immense. For years I prayed to have a opportunity in the sport of boxing, today, I finally got my big break. Yet I still struggle with lust. How do I beat it? I pray, I am ridden with guilt, yet I have no idea what to do. God bless you all
