Hey Kelvin, as usual, love the videos. Most I watch to see one tiny part of the engine just to see how something is bolted in, or a certain mark on the engine. (Such as these timing marks) I just did another T-belt on a 93 LS400 and the timing was off when I finished. 1st time this ever happened to me. I ended up using a wrong mark on the left cam gear. There's more then one notch on the back side. I never marked it when I had it off so I was going by touch to find it because I couldn't see anything with the bad lighting I had. I finally realized it when I spun the crank around the 2 times again. I saw a tiny notch mark on the front of the left cam gear which lines up with a different notch then I was using on the back. I noticed, and you mentioned in this video, the cam gear you used doesn't have the notch on the front. If I can miss that, then some of the newbie mechanics can surely miss it and maybe mention it in future videos of the timing belt.
EDIT: I just noticed on this other video of yours has the front mark; ruclips.net/video/S4eYWRR1C3U/видео.html&ab_channel=CartuneNZ
After all that, I do have one question. The cam gears should be torqued at 80 ft lbs. I see you just used your muscle torque wrench (the best way) to tighten them, which looked alot more then 80 ft lbs. Would it matter anything with the cam itself being tightened way too much?
Keep up the good work and thanks for the time you take to make these videos and answer questions and still be able to do your business side of everything also.
    Dean

Any reason my cam gear timing marks would not line up at all but my engine(not well) ran before dissambly. junkyard engine, will not accelerate under load. There are tabs at the back cam gear sticking up. Should I use those tabs to line up to the timing marks on the engine, or use the grooves on the front of the cam gear like normal. The tabs in back are closer to lining up at tdc. L on, R 3 teeth off. I can't ever get the grooves in front to line up. I don't see how this engine ran in its current state. Someone has been in this engine before I think. I am thinking about lining up everything like you show and if my engine implodes. No big deal. I can get another one cheap. Almost all of the capacitors are leaking in the ecu. I am replacing those right now as well.
Thanks for any insight you can provide Kelvin.
