These engines are beefy. 6 bolt main, lots of space separating cylinders which is good, everything looks spot on. They sound so good too when you open up the exhaust a bit. Just a really good engine.

Yup! It's an amazing and underappreciated engine for sure!

I love my Altezza RS200 to death, but that rear end shot of that foxbody is sexy as hell.

Thanks again for the lovely work .
    I have two questions:
1 why you didn't replace the valve seal ?
    2 why you didn't choose 1UZFE non VVTI ?

Valve seals were done at the machine shop, I didn't feel like doing them.
I choose the VVTi because it's more efficient and makes more power

@@PoorManMods It's your opinion and I respect it very much, but on the other hand, I have not seen on RUclips any 1UZFE engine with VVTI that has achieved a million miles. Add to this the problems of VVTI sensors malfunctioning, and the cost of repairing them, especially if the camshaft malfunctions ( making clicking sound on acceleration ) .
Regarding fuel consumption, I did not see any difference. My friend owns a Lexus LS400 with the VVTI feature, and I did not find any difference between us when we were traveling together in our cars . Last but not least, 90% of the modified 1UZFE engine clips on RUclips with 500 HP and above are for the engine with non VVTI.
Finally I wish you success always, and I love your beautiful channel and the way you work and your explanations while working.

Currently have some cam noise in my first gen 1UZ. Sounds like Left bank intake cam only, possibly thrust / journal bearing. Do you know if your journals or cams were polished or cleaned up at all ? I need to pull my cams out, possibly remove the heads and send to a machine shop.

Do the cams aligned with single dots both left and right or with double dots on the left and single on the right ?

DONT USE THE BRASS BRUSH ON THE FLAT SURFACE, ONE OF THE BRISTLES CAN END UP DOWN THE COOLING JACKET, BETTER USE A SCOTCH BRIGHT GREEN KITCHEN PAN SCRUBBER
CLEAN DOWN WITH A SOAKED BRAKE CLEANER BLUE SHOP TOWEL ON BOTH MATING SURFACES

Even if a brass bristle got into the cooling system it wouldn't be that big of a deal
By the way, your caps lock is on...

What about the scissor gear on the Cams, no need to pre-load these?
