Instructional Video explaining all things Gaelic Football, including Rules, Scoring, Equipment, Gameplay and more! (Some logos and images are property of GAA)
Gaelic wasn’t first played in the 1800s that’s when the GAA (Gaelic athletic association) was formed which is the body that over sees Gaelic football and hurling matches. Hurling is the oldest grass sport in the world first played 1000 BC and Gaelic football at least 800 years ago not exactly sure on that. A lot of people think it’s relatively new which is mind boggling 😂
I heard about this sport a couple of years ago, it does seem a lot of fun, I'll watch some videos on it right now! Keep bringing this types of videos introducing us to fun sports and aspects of sports that not everyone is familiar with
Good effort, just a few clarifications A goal can be scored by punching the ball ,but only on the fly not out of the hand as with point taking A black card is a penalty for cynical fouls like obstruction of players who don't have the ball and tackling a player rugby or AF style to the ground and the penalty is now that the offender is sent off for ten minutes without replacement , but you would have been correct if not for recent rule changes Most matches are 60 minutes however the elite level senior intercounty its seventy minutes Matches now go to extra time and soccer style penalties at least at intercounty level.
They used extra time and penalties recently..it was because of a congested playing season...I think the black card has been changed to a ten minute sin bin also...
If you are ever considering learning gaa, just know that four steps and bounce four steps and solo doesn't mean you only take two steps on each foot. You can technically do that, but if you take four steps on each foot so eight steps really, it'll get you alot farther down the pitch because you're not allowed take two bounces in a row
btw you cant handpass (or punch) the ball into the goal you have to kick it or slap or punch it ONLY if someone else has passed it to you (you cant throw it up for yourself and punch it, it has to be a pass from a teammate)
bit confussed as to you haven't made a video on Australian football. if you're not sure what that is. then you should watch this video ruclips.net/video/XMZYZcoAcU0/видео.html (What is AFL? Aussie Rules Explained)
