Baldur's Gate 3 won because of the isometric im-sim gameplay with extensive rpg elements Hi-Fi Rush won audio design because the whole game plays excellently along with the audio Forza won accessibility as it can allow even diagnosed blind people play a racing game Ongoing is mostly subjective for gameplay, but Cyberpunk 2077 after doing performance fixes added a lot of overhauling mechanics to the combat system Can't say about debut indie as I havent played either Cocoon or Pizza Tower, but apparently Cocoon was also deserved Best action game, while I would've gone for Remnant or Dead Island, having a mech game go maintream in the west was an achievement Best Action/Adventure went to TotK while it's mostly the same basis as the previous title, Final Fantasy not even nominated there was straight up robbery Best RPG, Final Fantasy apparently ended up there when they pretty much changed genres in that title, but yeah absolutely no way Baldur's Gate was lacking against any RPG made this year in gameplay Best Fighting is pretty subjective across the whole selection having much different fighting systems, but Street Fighter did add a lot of player customization and online community support Best family, ehh sure whatever Mario yahoo must be some fun Best Sim, also in gameplay very subjective, sadly Cities Skylines botched their launch state etc. etc. Pretty solid game awarding this year, too many adverts with no gameplay for games that I don't think I'll ever touch, didn't really walk away wanting to wait for any of the announced games.
