"They know how to put on a show!"...Stacey, you have NO IDEA. Muse, quite simply, is the BEST stadium Rock band in the world, period. When it comes to playing the biggest venues....I'm talking about HUGE venues, in front of multiple tens of thousands of fans, no band does it better than Muse. They are a 3 piece band -- BUT, they bring in a keyboard player to help them on tour --- from Devonshire England, in Teignmouth. Matthew Bellamy is the singer, guitarist, piano player, and chief songwriter. He is brilliant. Please, please water the song called "Butterflies and Hurricanes", from the same Wembley show! You will see some musicianship from Matt that will blow your mind! Chris Wolstenholme is the Bass player and backing singer, Dominic Howard is the drummer (Green pants!!) and Morgan Nicholls helps them on tour with Keys and sometimes guitar. They are one of my top-5 bands of all time! 1) The Beatles 2) Rush 3) The Police 4) Muse 5) INXS! Stacey, you are about to drop into a Rabbit Hole that will change your life. I am serious! The story of Muse, especially of Matt Bellamy, is astonishing. He is such an interesting person. His lyrics are incredible and his songwriting is, literally, out of this world.
Yep. My top 10 live bands all time is: 1. Pink Floyd. 2. Queen. 3. Iron Maiden. 4. Muse. 5. Rush. 6. Foo Fighters. 7. AC/DC. 8. Led Zeppelin. 9. The Who. 10. Pearl Jam
@@jonpevehouse, you’ve got a point. I think that is a sentimental favorite - I grew up playing drums and Stewart Copeland is one of my heroes - but Muse should have come before, now that I think about it! You called it! BTW, Dominic is a force of nature! He’s one of the most versatile, tasteful and steady drummers I’ve ever seen!!
I have seen Muse in concert 4 times and they are f*cking UNBELIEVABLE!!! Singer Matt Bellamy has an incredible vocal range (inc falsetto), lyricist, guitarist, classically trained pianist and well as other instruments. Dominic Howard (drums, percussion) & Chris Wolstenholme (bass guitar, backing vocals) - I never knew you could do what he does with his bass! All three members are OUTSTANDING!🔥 Check out to 'Butterflies & Hurricanes' from the same concert to appreciate his Genius. Their songs are mainly about a range of things, but a LOT are about being controlled by the governments, secrecy, dumbing down and control of the masses. My favourite album of theirs is prob 'Black Holes and Revelations' - but check out 'Knights Of Cydonia', 'The Handler', 'Uprising', 'Dead Inside', 'Starlight', 'Our Time Is Running Out', 'Plug-in Baby' - the list is endless!🎸 PS My sister travelled to Rome to see them live 2 years ago again - she said 'Knights Of Cydonia' was outta this world! When I saw them in Dublin, I managed to crowd-surf when they played 'Knights Of Cydonia' - amazing feeling! MORE MUSE PLEASE!👏👏👏
Muse is and always have been phenomenal live, but I definitely recommend listening to the studio version of this aswell! The production and mix is absolutely insane on their records.
As a music ed major, there is actually a ton to learn from Muse. A classically trained lead singer and songwriter in a rock style. Incredible! I love stuff from all over their timeline, this, Hysteria, Uprising, Starlight, Sing for Absolution, Invincible, Knights, Time is Running Out, and last but not least Madness! And more!
The live version of Hysteria from this specific gig is particularly stunning. Also, secret hidden keyboard player for live shows even tho just three in the actual band.
I was at this specific gig. Even at the time it felt like a special moment. A band at the very top of their game in a week old 90,000 seat stadium. What a privilege
So many absolute amazing songs to come. Matt’s voice is one at of the best at what he’s doing. Please don’t just do live, yes they’re amazing live but I think they’re 20x better when you know the original. Like many have said butterfly’s and hurricanes, the handler, hyper music, bliss, time is running out. But butterfly’s will give you a full muse experience. Love your reactions
Muse will blow your mind. So excited to see you go down this rabbit hole, you will not regret it! There are so many recommendations I can give but considering this was your first song by them I would suggest you watch Knights of Cydonia & Plug in Baby live at Rome Olympic Stadium 2013
Agreed, Porcupine Tree is definitely the 21st century Floyd and for that reason alone Stacy really should check them out. Not sure that Muse is the 21st Century anything, they have carved out their own genre halfway between Prog and metal. Stacy if you see this check out Porcupine Tree ‘The start of something beautiful’ LIVE because I’m sure that it will be.
@@Vampagan Always amazing to see porcupine tree getting some love, they need more RUclips Reactions for sure, I would throw Steven Wilson as a solo artist as well.
The album Black Holes and Revelations is one of "those" albums where it's hard to go wrong with any track on it. After this one, Supermassive Black Hole, Knights of Cydonia and Starlight all stand out to me, but honestly? You could pick at random.
I've been a Muse fan since 2001 but didn't get to see them play live until last year. I'd recommend you react to Hysteria, Plug In Baby and Knights of Cydonia, especially from their Rome concert, next. You will not believe Knights of Cydonia. It has everything and more. Muse are the best band I've seen live since I saw Pink Floyd in 1994 at Earls Court in London. BTW I've had Plug in Baby as my phone's ringtone for years now. It gets antention.
Super introduction to Muse, love your reaction. They are superb live, I've seen them at Wembley but not this show, on this tour, I saw them when working in Switzerland. Just to clarify, if you watch the video again you'll spot a 4th person on stage, that's Morgan Nicholls, he tours with the three band members, playing keys so Matt Bellamy can strut his guitar stuff, equally when Matt's tinkling the ivories, Morgan does the guitar fills. I love this song, other favourites: Hurricanes and Butterflies, Stockholm Syndrome and Bliss. At the end of songs they often jam, sometimes with a bit of Hendrix!
Just commenting on your first pause... You haven't seen nothing yet... Matt's voice is out of this world... his falsettos! OMG! And he's also one of the best guitar players in the world and he's amazing at piano also! Anyway... glad you are starting what I hope is a Muse journey!! :) I LOVEd (I prefer the older albums, at some point they started to drift away from what I liked but, hey, I still got 4 or 5 AMAZING albums!!) Muse, my favorite band of all time... I loved them so much that I was in that crown in Wembley in 2007, I went from Portugal to England with the main purpose of being at that show because it was their first time in Wembley Stadium! Another time I went to Madrid in Spain to see them and the next day I was in Lisbon to see them again! So, as you can see, I'm a fan! This music is up there in my top, it's fantastic, the beat, the lyrics... so you picked a good one to start but there are SO MANY more for you to check out... I would recommend you do a album by album dive... not an album at once but that you get the song list of each album and you do them in order... it would be just amazing. Muse are widely regarded as one of the best Live bands in the world to this day! Welcome to Muse! Edit: you say "2 two upfront are very fashionable", Stacey... the most fashionable of them is Dom, the Drummer!! You have to check out his collection of wild Pants! He loves them so much that at some point (like in this show) the drum set was transparent so that everyone could see them!! hahaha (don't know if that's the reason but I like to believe it is!!). I knew that you would love it because they are heavily influenced by Queen :) If don't want to follow my suggestion of going song by song from their albums in chronologic order, let me tell you that then, next you should do Butterflies & Hurricanes... from what I saw from your other videos I'm 100000% sure that you will love it and be blown away! You can even do the video from the same Wembley show, it's simply breathtaking! My favorite song of all time is a song from them (so, it's also my favorite song from them) it's Darkshines... the name alone is fantastic, but song... jeez!! It's not one of their singles or big hits but for me it's just perfection!!
Matt Bellamy is the son of a famous musician, but he's super duper talented as well. His guitar work is amazing but he's also really good on the piano too, and that's before we get to his vocals!
OMG so glad you did Muse!! Also props the only reacter to do 2nd side of Shine On - major cookies for that lol - and first mainstream Muse reaction - cookies also...this band is incredible - in terms of actual talent it goes 1. The Beatles / Queen 2. Abba 3. Muse - in the history of pop music 100. You hit right on the Wembley Stadium live show - also check out live - from either Wembley or Rome - 1. Hysteria + Munich Jam (Roskilde) 2. Time is Running Out (Wembley) 3. Knights of Cydonia (Rome) 4. Stockholm Syndrome (live the Mayan 2015) 5. New Born (any live version). That's just for starters - they are, hands down, the most talented band/musicians currently performing. You know how ppl look back to 70's bands for talent because of the lack of today - these guys would stack up in the 70s, 80s or whenever - they are literally the best modern band - only Queen & a couple of others are on the same talent level. Keep up the great work - your reactions are the best!
GREAT reaction Stacey!! You picked a BANGER to start your Muse journey! This is probably one of my top tracks of theirs! (definitely check the album version!) Yes, 3 piece band, lead singer (Matt Bellamy) is a multi-instrumentalist. Chris Wolstenholme on bass is a beast on the axe, and finally, Dominic Howard is incredible on skins. Their influences are many, but elements of Queen, Floyd, even Rush are evident. I've seen these guys 4 times, and each time blew my mind (both visuals and musicianship!) Please, PLEASE do more! HIGHLY recommend: Hysteria (bassline is bonkers!), Citizen Erased, Knights Of Cydonia, Starlight, Supermassive Black Hole (these 3 are from the same album as Map), Uprising, Plug In Baby, Undisclosed Desires...Oh boy you've got a deep rabbit hole to go down! Cheers from Canada, eh!
Thanks for checking out Muse! You definitely have to check out more, theyre brilliant live. I've seen them live 5 times including Wembley stadium. Also what's cool is that I'm from the town in England where they first started and formed.
Great reaction, Stacey, as always. Muse's musicianship is second to none, but they are truly special when they perform live - undoubtedly one of the greatest live bands of all time. I saw one of their two Wembley concerts in 2007 and they were incredible. You must watch "Butterflies and Hurricanes" from the same concert to see the musical genius of Matt Bellamy in full flow. Your jaw will be on the floor!
First time I ever saw Muse was a free concert for the students at Kent State in the arena! They had one song that just was getting popular but their whole show was incredible.
Always excited to watch anyone react to Muse for the first time. They are simply brilliant and their energy is powerful. Please check “showbiz” or “resistance”. They have so much amazing music but these two live are just ✨✨✨✨
Many Muse songs are recognisable by Bellamy's vocal vibrato, falsetto, and melismatic phrasing, influenced by Jeff Buckley. They sound so loud because they turned the volume up to eleven. "Up to eleven", also phrased as "these go to eleven", is an idiom from popular culture, coined in the 1984 film This Is Spinal Tap, I recommend watching.
Oh hell yeah! Muse is an experience. My family listened to them a lot while I was in high school. I still love Knights of Cydonia 🎉 The album Black Holes and Revelations is my fav (where this song is from).
Welcome to the muse rabbit hole. They are so diverse. They are my favourite band and I'm 60yrs old. They have been together for 25 yrs. They have known each other since they were 13. Check out all their live concerts.
I am the huge muse fan, i love everithing about them, and u start from my favorite song. I hope u dont stop on it. They have a tone of a grate songs. Hope u will enjoy it❤
Yep I used to listen to muse on repeat daily! Fav songs: Hysteria, Butterflies and Hurricanes (Absolutely insane transitional song) Time is running out, The resistance
Well, you did one of my favorites so now you have to do the rest haha. Seriously tho, Muse have SUCH different styles musically throughout their whole career but the one thing that NEVER changed was the lead singer's voice & the emotion/passion that come from all three of them. Check more of their stuff out, because I can tell you loved the energy they put into this, and that's my favorite thing about this band!
The New Wembley was opened in 2007. Muse became the first band to sell out the new stadium on 16 and 17 June 2007. Spunk in the UK does mean what you mean but is also used as seminal fluid.
Always great to see someone discover this band. My absolute number one band. However I am pretty sure that you heard at least once their most mainstream song which is Madness. And basically they are indeed a power trio (with the same members since day one!) as a band so everything related to songwritting and studio recording but they have a fourth live member who is pretty well known among the fans. It's understandable hearing how complex they can get. Definitely a trippy rabbit hole to explore.
With very few exceptions, you pretty much always listen to (and love!) my favorite artists. We must have similar tastes! 😂 That established, you should check out Porcupine Tree. They are compared a lot to Pink Floyd, but they have a more modern prog edge. The whole "Fear of a Blank Planet" album is a good, accessible starting point, and if you dont mind a long video, "Anaesthetize" is a helluva song.
This is high energy. Forget Red Bull, if you need a rush of adrenalin - just listen to Muse! Housework gets done in half the time with Muse on your headphones!😂😂😂
If you want a killer bass line you have to listen to Hysteria next. Live or studio recording doesn't matter, it will melt your face either way. Also Knights of Cydonia is just epic.
As others may have pointed out Muse is the greatest live band currently touring. They are virtuosos and have great songs and Matt Bellamy sings and plays the impossible.
Yet another great discovery my dear Stacey. I advise you if you have the opportunity to go see Muse in concert as I had the chance to do, their show is unique, both musically and visually. Matthew Bellamy is an incredible artist, his voice is like no other, and his guitar riffs are exceptional... Welcome Stacey to this new universe, Muse has many more songs that are so magnificent, you will love dipping your toe into this wonderful group. Bye'n'cha 🤘🤘🤘
As many have said, these guys are incredible live. My wife and I saw them twice on the 2nd Law tour, and that first one was in my top 3 shows I have seen. Knights of Cydonia is one of my faves.
Oh, if your're not familiar with Muse so far, you're in for a ride!. They've got soo many smart, jaw-dropping, emotional-extatic songs with twists and turns, Its crazy!. To get a feel for their "repertoire", the song "Citizen Erased" might be an awesome chioce to react to. It shows the bands "heavy metal" like sound but also has an incredible sweet and emotional ending.
Oh . . . This is your first time hearing Muse? So many recommendations! I saw them live a couple of years ago and they are soooo good live. I have recommendations from every record: From 'Showbiz': Sunburn Muscle Museum Falling Down Cave Unintended Uno Origin of Symmetry: New Born Bliss Plug in Baby Space Dimentia Citizen Erased Hyper Music Feeling Good Absolution: Hysteria Time is running out Sing for absolution Butterflies & Hurricanes Stockholm Syndrome Black Holes & Revelations: Starlight Supermassive black hole Map of the problematique (you're reacting to here) Invincible Exo-politics Knights of Cydonia The Resistance (possibly all of it tbh but particularly): Uprising The Resistance Undisclosed Desires United States of Eurasia (+ collateral damage) Guiding light Exogenesis Symphony (parts I, II & III) 2nd Law: Supremacy Madness Panic Station Animals Unsustainable Drones (whole album again really but particularly): Dead Inside Psycho Mercy Reapers The Handler Aftermath The Globalist Simulation Theory: Dig Down Thought Contagion Pressure Will of the People: Will of the People Compliance Won't stand down You make feel like it's Halloween Kill or be killed Verona We are fucking fucked Happy listening
Muse is one of my favourite bands I have every one of their albums. I can say you are in for a brilliant ride on this journey I saw them headline Glastonbury 2010 set live on bbc 1 and the next day went out bought a handful of their albums and never looked back
Yep, if you can go to one gig go to a Muse gig. Legendary and have a Pink Floydesq feel with their stage shows. They have loads in their back catalogue but if you want to hear something newer, Have a listen to Verona.
For me, MUSE came to my attention when I was in my teens. I absolutely loved the song “Sing for Absolution”, and the entire album is honestly amazing. Ruled by Secrecy will always haunt me and still makes me a little emotional.
Good to see you reacting to Muse, Stacey. Great band. Can i suggest Butterflies and Hurricanes at the same concert. Matt Bellamy shows off his piano playing talents with a piece of Rachmaninoff in the middle. Enjoy 👍:-)
More Muse, please. Bliss live from Zentih, Stockholm Syndrome live from Glastonbury 2004, Citizen Erased, New Born, Butterflies and Hurricanes, Unnatural Selection… So many great songs
One of (if not the best) bands playing live today. You have so many songs from them but I suggest my favorite "Hysteria" and "Psycho". Or their love song "Starligh" .Give meow to the cat for me :PP
Some of the best stages I’ve ever seen are from muse gigs….they are from where I live in south Devon, uk. Well, 5 mins away. 😮 ‘new born’ live is amazing and of course ‘knights of cydonia’ is just epic. Matt the singer is also an incredible guitarist and piano player.
“Butterflies & Hurricanes” from the same concert will blow your mind.
"New born" from this concert is such a MUST
I was there that day. The piano was edited unfortunately for the dvd. The piano solo ending actually happened the way it did for Glastonbury 2004
Yes yes yes you will be amazed great shout out ✌️👍🏻
" I Can't Get It Right.... Since I Met YOU!" very very good. Thanks, Greetings from Portugal.
So so glad to see you doing Muse. The two absolute MUST do is Hysteria (with Prelude) and "Darkshines".

I think Muse have become in my top 3 bands of all time. So many good tracks and unbelievable live!
Always excited to watch anyone react to Muse for the first time. They are simply brilliant and their energy is powerful.
Please check “showbiz” or “resistance”. They have so much amazing music but these two live are just ✨✨✨✨
Assassin live at The Mayan and Reapers live from Cologne are must do reactions.
MUSE is one of the best act lives ... period...... Listen "Knights of cydonia" and "Butterflies and Hurricanes"........😉😉😊😍
What an interesting choice for a first song introduction to this band
Those coloured hexagons in your background look like their album cover for The Resistance
On Second thought I think that you should react to this. MUSE: Stockholm Syndrome ( LIVE From Wembley Stadium ) Amazing version. Amazing show!
Probably the most famous unknown band in the world (As the singer once joked).
They have a plethora of music that is an aquired taste for most
Well, you did one of my favorites so now you have to do the rest haha.
Try “knights of cydonia” at the live in Rome concert. The start is unbelievable. Hope you dive headfirst into this rabbit hole .
Yesssss!
The New Wembley was opened in 2007. Muse became the first band to sell out the new stadium on 16 and 17 June 2007.
Spunk in the UK does mean what you mean but is also used as seminal fluid.
My favourite band after Pink Floyd, incredible talent.
True story!
I've never heard them before. They're good.
Hello Stacey 😁 glad you are discovering Muse 😁 stay awesome 💪
Always great to see someone discover this band. My absolute number one band. However I am pretty sure that you heard at least once their most mainstream song which is Madness.
And basically they are indeed a power trio (with the same members since day one!) as a band so everything related to songwritting and studio recording but they have a fourth live member who is pretty well known among the fans. It's understandable hearing how complex they can get.
Definitely a trippy rabbit hole to explore.
With very few exceptions, you pretty much always listen to (and love!) my favorite artists. We must have similar tastes! 😂
That established, you should check out Porcupine Tree.
You have stumbled upon the greatest touring live act on the planet 🇬🇧😊
Matt plays guitar with such casual abandon while singing that it took me ages to believe he wasn't miming :-)
Muuuuuuuuuse! Knights of Cydonia live at Rome and Butterflies & Hurricanes at this exact concert are my go to recommendations. 😁
One of my favorite songs.
Muse are epic!🏴
If you want a killer bass line you have to listen to Hysteria next. Live or studio recording doesn't matter, it will melt your face either way.
Also Knights of Cydonia is just epic.
As others may have pointed out Muse is the greatest live band currently touring. They are virtuosos and have great songs and Matt Bellamy sings and plays the impossible.
Try muse live Olympic stadium Rome or Glastonbury great reactions 👍
Welcome to the greatest live band of our generation. Enjoy the journey this band will take you on when you listen to every song

Been going to see Muse live for several years 6 times so far, always good entertainment
Muse is one of my favourite bands I have every one of their albums. I can say you are in for a brilliant ride on this journey I saw them headline Glastonbury 2010 set live on bbc 1 and the next day went out bought a handful of their albums and never looked back
Lols I forgot the best one - Butterflies & Hurricanes - Wembley live - same show...they give Queen a run for their money on this one!
My favorite song , it's the first song i've heard of them, when i discovered Muse in 2006. I feel nostalgic
Welcome to the club. Enjoy your path down the wormhole.
Yep, if you can go to one gig go to a Muse gig. Legendary and have a Pink Floydesq feel with their stage shows.
They have loads in their back catalogue but if you want to hear something newer, Have a listen to Verona.
muse are a great band
Hi Stacey, they were massive in the UK. Love your energy 💗😍
were?
They ARE massive in the UK still
For me, MUSE came to my attention when I was in my teens.
Please see them live if you can . It’s an amazing experience. Welcome to Muse .
