    For my 2014 Sonata GLS the sensor 2 is not located there, it’s located more immediately behind the engine and you actually have to access it from above.

      Hello friend. I have the same issue, I have a 2013 Hyundai sonata GLS 2.4L and my sensor 2 is not there on the catalytic converter. Where on the engine is it inserted? . Thanks

      yeah and it's AWFUL to try and get out when it is seized... I'm about to just try and drop the cat out just so I can put an impact on it and rip it out.

    The link for the downstream sensor you provided is for a sensor with the wrong connector. The linked sensor has a male connector while the 2011 Sonata 2.4L requires a female connector.

    My 2011 Sonata 2.4 has the up stream O2 Sensor in the exhaust manifold cylinder #2, the down stream O2 Sensor is at the end of the exhaust manifold & not on or after the catalytic converter. Any clue why there is not an O2 on or after the converter

      @Messenger of the Age happened to me once ….. ended up buying the 200 dollar denso ones and that fixed the problem……. Manufacturer was bosch for the upstream sensor but the down stream was unlisted ….. sometimes you gotta fork up the big bucks for electric parts.

    Won't work for me. The downstream sensor on a Sonata 2.0 is just before the 2nd cat (which I can see looking at the firewall). The 1st one is in the exhaust manifold). 0 leverage unless I use 3-4 long extensions on the o2 socket lol. Been soaking WD40 for a while, driving, soaking, no luck. The torch is the only thing I haven't tried. At this point, it's probably easier just to have a shop remove it.

    Please can somebody help me to make different between Upstream and Downstream, Should i buy any oxygen sensor and replace it or there is a special oxygen sensor for the upstream and another special one for the downstream? 😩 help please

    • @Moondoggy1941
      @Moondoggy1941 2 года назад +2

      Yes there is a difference, if you live in the states go to Autozone, or like Auto Parts store, they will diagnosis for free and give you the part number so you can order it from them and they will show you on a schematic where it is, you can borrow the special socket to replace the o2 sensor, it should be really easy.
