Happy birthday, Alex! I hope you are having an enjoyable day! That's a wonderful and important reflection, and great to hear you are now enjoying your birthdays. Life really is a journey and everybody moves at their own pace. We always get there in the end! Mind you, "there" isn't always the "there" we had anticipated, but that's alright too!
Many thanks for the birthday wishes. Yes, you are so right........sometimes where we thought we would be, is far from where we are. But I know you will agree, sometimes there is a guiding hand in all of this!
@@alexrigby-dailypilgrim1351 Your most Welcome! I discovered you a while ago through Rick! I REALLY enjoy your videos! I'm a Christian myself, I live in Northern Ireland. I hope to get some sort of Camper in the future
Happy Birthday! I’m sure your words will resonate with many…be happy. Really enjoy your thoughts of the day they are almost a mini sermon…you should do more. Have a great day 🎉
Thank for the birthday wishes, and the 'food for thought'. I do hope to do more 'thoughts for the day', I am trying to do more 'short / quick vids' as well as some longer ones. It was a great day, and thanks again!
🎉Wishing you a very happy birthday, Alex! My birthday is tomorrow, the 21st. I have shared the same sentiment as you do towards my own birthday for years. I never wanted to celebrate for several reasons. Mainly because birthdays in my family were never a 'thing' as my Mum never liked celebrating hers....Now, as I turn 63 years of age (where has the time gone??), with so many things I had planned to do in my life, and with my life, that just did not happen. My journey has taken many side roads and pathways which I never anticipated. I celebrate because I have survived and thrived so many of life hurdles with gratitude. Gratitude, for me, is a celebration of life right now in the moment, no matter where or what or who you are. It took me a lot of years to figure that out, and it is something I hope I have passed on to my son. Enjoy your day, Alex! 🎂 Many happy returns of the day.
Thank you for your lovely message, I am so glad you have come to a place where life should be celebrated right now. It did take me a while to realise it, and, like you, I have tried to pass it on to my son too.
Happy Birthday for yesterday. As perfectly depicted in Only Fools and Horses it's the journey, not the destination that's the fun part. Take golf as a funny example. If you learn to play golf and master it straight away, you end up literally playing less golf. It's good to aspire to be better and enjoy the journey. Ultimately, if you master something fully, that's the end of the fun.
Many thanks. I like the only fools and Horses reference, I often have quoted that myself, It is so true! And don't worry, if you saw my attempt at playing golf, you would quickly realise that I am far from mastering it!
WELL, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX!! Wish I was 47 not 70, but I've got lots I want to do, mainly travel more in our campervan., gardening, crafts.. Move house oh so much to do but sometimes life gets in the way especially as u get older...
Many thanks. Keep adventuring, 47 / 70 it's easy to say, but let it just be a number. I have lost count of the number of times I moved house, but rest assured, I am staying put for now!
ONe RaBIT hOLE LaTer:- The full version of the expression is ‘Happy birthday and many happy returns of the day.’. Quote - "The first record I can find of it in print is in Joseph Addison’s political discourse The Freeholder, 1752: “THE usual salutation to a man upon his birth day among the ancient Romans was Multos et Foelices; in which they wished him many happy returns of it.” It has been suggested that the returns being wished for are the returns on an investement and that the salutation is wishing for someone’s good fortune in business. The citation from Addison above makes it clear that isn’t the case." - And it didn't stop there, now into Roman customs (to boot), Caligae anyone?

Where does “many happy returns” come from?
Thanks. I'm not sure where the expression actually comes from, but it was the title of a very good episode of 'The Prisoner' (1967, Patrick McGoohan)
