I have no problem with tree stumps, except they are near my base.
So I build my base in meadows and my outpost near the Dark Forrest. Then I clear the whole forrest, filling up 9 chests with wood and make 5 runs with the cart to my base.
Because its easier to see enemies in the Dark Forrest if there is no Forrest.

I chop down the stumps before the actual logs. I hate visual clutter. That being said, I could never play with grass turned off. It makes the game look dated and ugly. And I love the look and visual style of the game WITH grass. The game is about exploration and discovery. Why make it easier for yourself just to see everything?? If you miss it, you miss it.

the reason i always chop away tree stumps is because when planting trees you can't put them too near other stuff or you get the error message saying "no room to grow" or similar.
i'm convinced that in valheim, trees to spread naturally. every wild zone that i chop down (including the stumps), when i come back there's small trees starting to grow where the others were.
i think that if you don't clear the stumps it blocks new trees from re-growing in that area.

I leave the vegetation on high, not just for a more beautiful experience. It also better simulates the reality of dropping something in the forest (or the tall grass, etc.) The sparkles rising up from the objects sufficiently mitigate the fact that our view of the game isn’t as sharp that of life. If the sparkles aren’t enough to help find the object, it should stay lost.

The building the cart at the resource advice is good... except: If your resource is a long distance away (Why are you using a cart if it's not?), then you may want to drag the cart to pave a road. It helps to check for steep inclines you might normally bounce up and dense woods you can slip through, but your cart is thicc.
Edit -follow up: If your resource is really far away, drag some cores and copper to make a temporary base near your resource. While you cannot take metals through a portal, you can take processed metal items through portals, like nails, weapons, and armor.

Here are some content idea I just though of recently.
    1) Re ignite the desire to build - I have been needing a reason to build in my solo world, then I realized that I can build structures that I can copy and paste using mods, so investing in a base now has enough meaning that I feel the desire to build again. I lost that urge when I realized that bases are just temporary unless you are into hard core resource gathering and I don't have time nor desire for that level of time sink, but taking my base, or parts with me, then I will decorate and invest.
    2) Hopes for Heath and Home - I want to see the bases turn into a Biome of sorts, where base raids provide needed resource drops. What are your desires?
    3) How about a crowd source project to have people add structures into a world seed and then publish the seed onto Nexus so you get a world with unique structures scattered around the map. Could be towers, bridges, docks, underground structures etc. If you have 10 builders in creative each make a seed and put in structures then pass them to the next name on the builders list at the end you have 10 seeds with unique locations. Example, divide the word into a grid and each builder can build 3 things in their assigned grid. So this way each seed with have stuff to find no matter where you go.

I only use ships for scouting locations, finding a good place to build a small house with a portal in it that I'll link to in my Meadows fortress, then return the ship to my fortified dock beside said fortress. Then use the portal to bring stored building materials in order to build up and fortify my seaside outposts. Ships do not remain parked without a fortified dock.

When you finally tame your wolves, and you should, do everything you can to avoid Fulings (ugly goblins that laugh)! Wolves in numbers 2 or more are easily a match for almost any enemy including trolls and will quickly tear them to pieces with ease. Not so with the Fulings, those bastards killed my two newly tamed wolves, I tamed another one and they did it again! All you can do is rush at the Fulings and try to help your wolves as much as possible, then the danger becomes killing your own wolves swinging a blade by mistake, which is why you leave them to it with every other lesser enemy and just get out of their way.

    1. I leave tree stumps only in one scenario. If I make a larger forest near my base (dense), I will leave them there as place holders so that replanting is always in the same spot.

Random crafting benches are good because enemies don't spawn near player-placed objects. That can be good to ensure enemies can't spawn when raids happen, so they disappear after a while with no fuss.

I always chop stumps, makes it easier to see things. Also I do think low grass is ugly, I compromise with medium. But your streaming so the demands on your system might be more taxing.

Kysen! Content idea: Lox are the new trolls
Are you lazy? Tired of chopping trees for your buildings and fires? Exhausted from mining rocks for your castles? Get a Lox to do it! Chopping trees? Never blunt your ax again (well, it does slash damage anyways but you get what I mean). Get a Lox to chop chop chop for you. Mining ore or rocks? Lox has got your mining needs under control. Never repair your pickax again, use a Lox...
    Anyways, just an idea...

    • @dantemalick2872

If anything it's the opposite trees stumps count as trees so the game doesnt generate new ones if you completely clear an area of trees and dont have work benches ect. Laying around trees will steadily grow takes about 10 days for saplings and about 25 for full grown to start to pop up based on my past experience I may be wrong on the exact timing however

It's a shame that as rocks break up they look so ugly. I have a plains base and I always try to keep from fighting lox near the large rocks so they won't look ugly as segments get taken out of them.
For tree stumps, if you ever get one that is too low to hit with the axe, you can take them out with a pickaxe!
