"We've come too far to give up on this car" is pretty good for lemons song lyrics :-)
Still can't believe we got the IOE! Now if only we weren't so slow...
great job team! i wanna try to drag Robert Dunn (aging wheels on youtube) into lemons for an EV car. he loves that stuff!
These wrapup videos have gotten really good. They’ve always been good, but over the last few months they’ve been excellent. Well done Lemons Crew!!!
Yes!!!! the safety crew got in the video!!
the real heros at lemons races!
Finally got to watch this, yeah I know its been out for 5 months. Anyway, it was an awesome race, worth the 20 hour tow from PNW. Special thanks to HPR crew for keeping the nighttime chaos under control! The FFLAT 505 Peugeot crossed the finish line in 28th! Not bad for a 39 year old French car.
Wow. Just keeps getting weirder and better. I wondered when MT3k and Lemons would ever collide, and here we are!
Correction: This was the first time we won Halloween Meets Gasoline
This is becoming more and more like "A Prairie Home Companion" and i am here for it.
Hey my night stint footage was used on a lemons video! Go me! Not so go me, blowing the motor up at end of said footage.
Love the Pac-Man bit at the end!
As much as I enjoyed 'Dazzle The Zebra', one might want to consider 'Mr. Happy' -- a Smiley Face puppet sold by Moto Vendor Aerostich.
The effects are similar, but Mr. Happy may be more ridiculous.
The Puffalumps approve of Dazzle.
LeMons must have changed the rules (again.) When we raced the Electrica, we were told "NO TOOLS ON PIT ROAD!" (of course, changing our battery needed an engine lift. 🙂) We could've made it slide in and out, but securing it would require tools (bolts.)
As the inventor of hot cheeto vodka, I would like to announce we are now beginning sales. Please send a self addressed stamped envelope with 47 cents in loose change and a note from a doctor at an inpatient mental health facility to claim your bottle.

No Venmo?
So, here is a genuine question: what fire supression preparation did the track do in prep for the E-Datsun? At my local track, no LiON-based EVs are allowed because in a crash involving thermal runaway, a trapped driver could not necessarily be rescued.
testing on the driver escape stuff is the first step before even going to judging. the driver must be able to exit the window in only a couple of seconds, un-aided, or the car isn't allowed to enter. also, all electrical systems are on an external, or easily reached from the outside internal, shut off switch. thus far, no accident, even including rollovers, has rendered a driver not able to get out of the car quickly and safely. lemons has had more serious injuries in the paddock than on the track. but, im sure that in the future, if more and more teams start to chase the EV trophy (which is worth the chase) they may come up with some new safety stuff just for those, maybe akin to the electric formula cars' safety systems. but, yes, safety is something they do take VERY VERY seriously at lemons races.
That's really a "no f'ing tesla" rule. LFP does not have a thermal runaway problem. (1st gen LCO does, which is what's in most teslas, 'tho they have switched to LFP.) NMC-LMO doesn't either, which is what _sane_ automotive companies use.
A properly designed / built battery box will protect the driver, and disconnect all HV. (contactors in the box like all commercial EVs.)
Why would the precautions need to be any different than with a gasoline fire? I understand being cautious of new risks but fire is fire
F'ing Wilford Brimley was not expected. 10/10
8:29 I just wanna add here. Brake proportioning valves should ONLY ever go on the rear circuit. It is a piston on a spring with a screw that adjusts spring preload. That is it. All it does is absorb a percent of pressure, with cut in adjusted by the screw. If you tighten the screw all the way, that is full braking on that end, full loose is minimum braking in the rear. Righty tighty, lefty loosey. I doubt the prop valve was labeled wrong, it's probably just a product of there not being any fuckin good information on prop valves except on the Suspensions Explained youtube channel.
Glen is my hero.
I must not have a life since I keep getting the first comment....I'm too poor to build my dream lemons racer, The Choadeo. Izuzu Rodeo with a turbo 4cyl from an Allis Chamblers forklift. Now I have that slappin Daft Junk beat stuck in my head. Thanks guys.
you want that exact build of parts just so you can get them to say Ch-oadeo in a lemons video, arent you?!
@@ghomerhust Oh 100%. The Chotus is my spirit vehicle.
It works with any chevy engine too, but I want something oddball for lemons, and a diesel forklift is a good donor for endurance racing I think.....more importantly it has a turbo and can be modified to make turbo noises and make all the panties in the paddock fall off.
"At least they were On Point now."
Are we sure Dazzle isnt Conky?
To be honest, mes amis, ALL EV's, transportation devices
of a Fool's Paradise, are but a fanciful, and counterfeit, dream…a WET DREAM.
