Hi, John. Architects and civil engineers actually do calculate bridge and overpass construction strength for scenario you mentioned; that is fully loaded trucks simultaneously braking. Small fact: this is actually the case, when the loads on construction are highest. Proper design accounts for repetition of this scenario many times over tens of years, sometimes even hundreds (how long exactly - depends on particular case).

JBG…..when I was younger I went through a period of time where I was in severe pain due to a back and hip injury. Sleeping was almost impossible. Most nights I was lucky to get 1-2 hours of sleep. I can only say that the bouts of paranoia and depression were nightmarish. Four surgeries and large amounts of drugs I was finally able to get 3-5 of sleep. Even today I’m lucky to get4 hours a night
