It’s disappointing to read all the haters on here. As an actual Lucid owner, I have 100% confidence in their long term plan. I’ve driven 25k miles in 1.5 years won many road trips, breezing past chargers others would be forced to stop at because of the range. Their service people are the best of the best, and having learned from people who engineered this vehicle, the advances in space optimization and drivetrain technology are next level and ahead of all other automakers. Aston Martin could have chosen anyone to make their EV motors, so how does that make Lucid the Titanic as one poster said on here? Progress happens in steps, not all at once and it takes time and massive investment, and it’s very short sighted and lacks vision to fixate on a stock price for a company in an expansion phase.
Well said. Peter also did not say they were competing with companies like Hyundai... he said Mercedes-Benz. Baby steps and quality v. cheap quantity.
It’s not going to matter if the PIF makes the company private. That’s why you have a lot of people hating on lucid especially Peter most of the hate comes from share holders! Peter sold about 300million dollars in shares when the company was on a down slope also! With no updates to the share holders. He didn’t meet year expectations on top of it. He hasn’t invested a dollar back into the company! That’s why a lot of people including myself are mad at Peter and lucid! The tech is great, that’s why we invested in it. But the tech won’t matter for shareholders holders if the PIF goes private. Almost feels intentional

Lucid. It’s just mater of time before lucid takes off to the moon. The chart is bullish
The horse and buggy industry said the car wouldn’t replace the horse Henry Ford hold my beer .
I think the cars are great. Good specs, range, look etc.. what I don't think is great is they make more cars then they sell already, so why expand when you can't even sell your current stockpile? Price seems to high to be a mass market product. Glad he asked about them losing money per each vehicle and also not selling as many as they make. Hope it turns around but the biz side doesnt look good to me, despite really liking the cars, i'm wary about their future
We've had our Lucid for 1 year (11.7k miles) Zero issues / Great car/ Great range / Luxurious/ Fast af!
I sincerely hope that Lucid will make it big as their cars are far superior to any other maker including Tesla. Tom is was a great interview, thank you.
Remember the Duesenberg?
It's easy to make better cars if you ignore the price. It's like saying Ferrari is a better company than Toyota.😂
Peter is such a down to earth guy. Great interview.

The Lucid Air is such an elegant and smart design with record interior room and a real luxury feeling!
When the market picks up, the Gravity could already be the pivot model for Lucid!
I wish the whole team and Peter a successful continuation!
My friend owns a Lucid and absolutely loves it. I think Lucid is building the best EV’s right now.
At $120k I can see why it is better than Chevy bolt and ioniq.
@@b3arwithm3And its worth its price as the Air is a luxury car, unlike Ioniq or Bolt.
@@Blue2024_rs there aren't enough features in there to justify paying 70k extra.

Thank you for bringing us the interview with Peter Rollinson.
It’s easy to say ‘NAY’ endlessly and a darn difficult to build a path to success, esp in the automotive sector. Glad to see Lucid moving for the long-haul. The sooner the Gravity and then ‘mid-size’ comes the better. The big Q: will the price be low enough for the time and expectations of customers. Time will tell.
Outstanding info. Between Lucid mid-size and the Macan EV reveal, there's a lot of great choices coming in the electric market. And man, Rawlinson is such a good brand ambassador.
The Macan is indeed a rival for the Gravity (price wise) but when you compare the technical achievements of the Gravity vs the Macan, then it's clear that the Gravity has so much more to offer then its rival.
Thanks Tom and thank you Peter Rawlinson for this crystal clear vision of Lucid's path. Hopefully this video is shared far and wide.
Thanks Tom! NOW I know why Cory Steuben went to work for Lucid! He aint no dummy!
Great interview. Lucid is a sleeping giant. Gravity will sell like hot cakes.
Lucid has to make sure not to make the same mistakes as Tesla (sub par quality) and then indeed, the sky is the limit
Lol, Tesla is making a mistake? Did u know the model y was the best seller last year? Not bad for a mistake.
In the meantime lucid stock in below $5 and risk to be delisted from NASDAQ which will be the end of any company.
@@b3arwithm3 😅 he need to ask google
@@b3arwithm3 Their quality is still absolute shit. For 50k+ cars (excluding the model 3), the actual car should be good quality. @@inublossom your comparison is invalid because you use price as metric. 50k is the luxury range for ICE and you are right to expect quality at that price range, but tesla is an EV. 50k EV is closer to a Honda Civic. Compare them to EV in the same price range.
Great interview! Glad to see this hometown company growing and preparing future growth. Go Lucid!
I like that Lucid is providing longer range options than other EV brands. I would consider Lucid for my next car. I have a 2014 Tesla Model S with the 85 kWh battery that I would like to replace with a longer range travel car in a few years. Lucid might be a good option at that time. I hope they do well.
This tells me they’re more focused on long term plans and current demand issues isn’t bothering them as much. Sign of a company with very deep pockets. Theyre in for the long run. PIF (or any investor) wouldn’t have funded quadrupling the factory apart from a new factory in Saudi if they were only interested in current demands.
This was definitely good to see glad you made this video job well done..I think they will make it their tech is far better than any other car company and it cost a ton of money to start a car business I’m holding long term GO LUCID
Lucid is innovating, something that almost no other ev brand is doing

they gonna have to come with some 45-60k prize range model in recent future to attract the market on large level.
I withheld investing years ago only because of the speculative spikes that had people in for less than a few months for their own benefit. I don’t know of a better purchase opportunity for long term growth than this team of engineers relentless pursuit of EV development. Great interview Tom. Thanks Peter 👍🏼
What are you actually investing in?. You make it sound like they’re the next Amazon. Maybe a great car and maybe a sound company but beyond that I don’t know what makes it such a great investment. What am I missing?
@@grizzlymartin1 You are missing nothing at all. My target stock price for Lucid when the stock launched to even consider investing was $2.50 a share, and we are close now. Even still, EVs are going to be a few winners taking most of the market situation. Best case scenario for Lucid is to carve out a decent little niche somehow that allows them to charge significantly more than Tesla and BYD charge, because Lucid will never be able to compete on price. At high risk of complete failure, Lucid will burn many billions of dollars over many years, and then if they do everything very well they will become a going concern able to eek out a small profit every year, unless the economy has a significant downturn.
Should have asked about the software and what improvements they are making in this regard.
Do they need the space to build the 60 year diamond batterys for there next gen car?
I’m rooting for them. I was an initial skeptic but the SavageGeese documentary helped me see what they’re up to. I do appreciate that they seem purpose driven to be EV optimized and to be drivers’ cars.
I think this is the antidote to the generic nature of modern cars. I’m not mad that EVs have no sound or only screens. I’m mad that we’re paying a premium for cars trying to be something they’re not. Hans Zimmer fake sounds. Etc. I can appreciate a car that is thoughtfully designed whatever its drivetrain
That was a great interview.👍

What they need to extend is not manufacturing capacities but demand.
Exactly. Which is why they are launching the SUV (the most popular form of vehicle in the US today) later this year, and then a lower cost mid-size vehicle in a couple of years.
Great video!
How does the Saudi Arabia plan look, with hardly any local market or suppliers? Also without a charging network, how does the scale up work? Just asking straight

Also, for those who are complaining about delivery numbers, in 2023 Lucid delivered more sedans in the US than every other EV sedan in its class, except for Porsche Taycan. So beating Mercedes Audi and BMW sales of luxury performance EVs is a positive, isn’t it?

I wish they had good customer service & better support for the items that are not under warranty until they have good network of service centers across USA. For the segment they are targeting, customer good will will take them to spread the word of mouth marketing.
Nice job Tom!
Lucid bringing Cory from Munro into their team gives me some hope.
I felt the distraction of building a factory in Saudi Arabia was a pure power move on the part of the Saudi investors. Not truly in the best interest of Lucid, but since SA has a big chunk of Lucid, hard to say no.
The positive of SA money is they likely were a key part to bring Aston Martin and Lucid together since SA is the second largest stake holder in Aston Martin.
Hearing their "affordable" Lucid model is years away is probably realistic, but will mean the competition will be very tough by the time they get into that segment of the market.
I believe the more companies fighting to win over consumers the better it is for the consumer. Going from a niche company to a high volume large builder will be a monster sized challenge.
Just bought my first F150 lightning so new to EV. Love your show very informed and one of the best I’ve seen so far. Keep up the good job I do have a question, my son-in-law owns one and he says I should only charge the battery to 80% so I don’t overcharge the battery is this true or is this fault.? Is there a recommended minimum charge for F150? I’d appreciate any help on this or if you have one that you’ve already talked about I look for it but couldn’t find it.😊
I own two EVs (BMW i4, Lucid Touring) and only charge both to 80%, which is the recommended charging limit. You only need to do 100% when travelling long distances (for example, from state to state). Charging at 80% will preserve your battery life. I've never had a situation with local driving where it's been an issue as far as range goes.

Saw a preview of one today in AZ. Absolutely beautiful vehicle inside and out. This will be a big seller!
Please explain why Lucid needs any more production capacity when it is only selling 60% of the cars it is producing now. The industry are saying that demand is weak and weakening further, especially for sedans. If they really are spending money to expand production, they might as well buy more dumpsters to burn the cash more efficiently.
Looked at the lightning today on a lot. Super crew cab. Beautiful but too big for what I need. It is mindblowing how much money they dare to invest, with these sales numbers. Let's say they sell the same amount of Gravity's/ Air's as model X did last year in the US, around 20.000 > selling $1.6B > With a profit margin of 20% = $320 million profit. Compare that to their annual cash burn of 2/3 billion. Even if the sales double or triple, I will not see this company being profitable before the end of this decade.
